I agree with the move 100%. Back when he was in his prime, he was worth all the drama and distractions Rodgers brings. But now he’s old, slow and hurt, just not worth the headaches any more. I would rather see the Jets move forward, get their roster straightened out, build an effective offensive and defensive line and use a middle round pick on a QB to develop.

totally agree, theres no way we could rebuild and change the culture without fully embracing it. if we brought rodgers back then what do we do next year? then you're just delaying the inevitable all to possibly win 8-9 games. cant be 1 leg in 1 leg out, it had to be a full commitment and I'm happy that everyone was in agreement to start a new culture. and I have to give woody his props, he did what he said he was going to do, he stayed out of it. he even shook up the front office and football operations side. Makes sense. Aaron Glenn wants a clean slate with no distractions. We still need a veteran bridge QB to mentor whichever young QB the Jets pick up in the next two years.
I dont understand what all the bellyaching is about--the dude was washed--he proved it so many times last season. Yes, occasionally he flashed, but then again so did Zach. What matters here is not flashing every now and then. what is needed is consistency week in and week out. How many times ddi we see him throw the ball short or in a totally different direction? How painful was it to watch him move like a mummy? How scary was it to see him get sacked-every time wondering if he was going to get hurt? He simply was not worth the huge money the team would have been on the hook for. Besides everyone whether they liked him or not knew that in the best case scenario he was going to be a bridge QB! He was not the future of this team--so just rip off the band aid already and go with someone that can be here for a number of years. I think the other thing to keep in mind is that as a new coach you need everyone to be with the program. Rodgers is only with his own program. He was always going to demand a voice at the table and Glenn probably said to himself that there was no reason to allow Rodgers hold the team hostage especially when at best he was only going to be here for 1 or 2 more years max. Agree totally, you hit the nail with rodgers, whatever positives he could bring is outweighed by negatives and questions. For all we know Rodgers came in and demanded what he wanted and they said see ya. The other thing is that Rodgets played 17 games, but he was hurt most of it and his defenders used that as an excuse..do they think at 41 he would be les likely to be hurt? Rodgers ceiling is prob like 60 to 70% of his peak, if he is healthy. Given the likelyhood he will be hurt, what is his actual ceiling? Do we need another season of catch with davante adams and 35 passing attempts of like 5 yards each? I think fans are desperate to win and i understand that. I think the projections for year 1 were too high and i think the projections for next year def were way too high, that rodgers wouldnt get us into the playoffs..

took care of quick
I think the projections for year 1 were too high and i think the projections for next year def were way too high, that rodgers wouldnt get us into the playoffs..
can sell yourself for one year off maybe winning more
Agree completely. Any coach worth his weight in salt knew they had to get Rodgers away from this team. I'm not a Jet fan, far from it, but at least I can begin to respect this team again...
agreed
