Great as always, Mike! The 90s was one of Clapton's best periods and it all began with the 24 Nights shows. The album versions of Bad Love and Pretending are outstanding, so it would be great if you get round to those.

im going to see him first time next year royal albert hall im gonna be row3 on royal albert hall with mrs and we paying 699£ a ticket 😢😢😢 but its worth to see him live for the first time , i grow up listen eric young age with my dad ,he always want it to see him live but never had a chance and lost him 2019 bloody cancer 😢 ,i wanna take him so bad and see his excitement on his face when he sit next to him .i wanna go and see him because my dad aswell ,

Mike, you are a maginificent player. I am learning this song for the first time and i was baffled as to how to approach the solo since i don't play slide. I am going to learn this version note for note and hopefully learn how to improvise around it later. Cheers, look forwarc to more.

Nice one mate! Was transcribing the solo myself this evening and have it mostly the same.. but got a few good ideas for some better (or at least alternate) fingerings from your lesson. It's a lot trickier to play at full speed than some folks might think a Clapton solo could possibly be. Awesome performance from Clapton on this one, he was really on fire that night! Thanks for the tips!

Great job and killer version! I wish I had ordered the box set. Side note, my favorite video version of Layla is comprised of two versions. My favorite front part of Layla is the Birmingham Show in the 80’s, like 86’ maybe? he kills the solo, so much so that the outro on that take is a bit mailed in, I think because of how emotional the first lead is. But, fir the outro, if you watch the 84’ Hartford, CT show, the outro is just an example of him being at one with his music…. I’ll try to toss in links to each version

What a solo! And you nailed it as per. His overbends are so damn cool. I’ve only started to notice recently that he never seems to use his middle finger to support his bends, it stays ‘erect’ (ahem) and off the fingerboard. Am I seeing this right? It’s always been obvious that his fingers are like that for barre chords etc but I can’t imagine having the strength to bend like that!
Anyway, I always enjoy the chat in the videos.

The intro for this version of Layla is great in my opinion. I'm not sure where this is from though.
