You’re right, but I don’t think he necessarily needs to be a better grappler to win here. He just needs to stay away from all grappling exchanges entirely. To do this, what he needs is improved takedown defence and the mentality/urgency to stay off the ground at all costs. These adjustments are possible in a year, I think thats the difference.

I just can't imagine suzuki being able to compensate his lack of grappling in just a year. I think he will be submitted again by erbst
