More Mods for the MK2 Focus ST Interior

Today we are wrapping some of the interior of the Focus ST in Carbon Fibre. This is something which is on the Facelift models as standard and I think it makes the car look that extra bit better inside so I thought I would give it a go myself!

There certain places you put carbon fibre and it looks good and some places it just tacky that's one of them

You did a great job with the wrapping. I'm thinking of getting 8D carbon fibre wrap to wrap the plastic mirror covers on my mk6 fiesta zetec s. 8d is I think as close you can get to looking like real carbon fibre

How do you remove the ashtray unit out?

You dont need to take the radio out. Just get a flat head screwdriver and microfibre cloth, cover the end with the cloth and gently prize off the surround until all the sides have unclipped. Start on either the top edge or sides. That will also give you access to the screws which holds on the button area.
As far as I know, you cant take off the flappy panel, which made it a bitch to wrap when I did mine, but it is possible if you take your time and only use a small piece of vinyl which is only just slightly bigger than the flap. Dont use a big piece otherwise it will be a right b*****d to do....

Once radio is out there is a few screws behind and then pops off if I remember correctly.
Just be careful as surround will break easy

Take the radio out for the top bit I think. I don’t know how to get the push open bit out tho that coverers the cigarette lighter part

I used scissors to take my radio out ahaa. Works just as well as them radio tools.
