The "Gate" or arch Mel walked through is called a Noxtorra. They are built at the entrances and/or borders of conquered nations to prove the ownership of Noxus and reinforce the strength of Noxus over its subjects. They typically depict the history of Noxus and its relation to said conquered peoples.
Trundle's club actually is *True Ice* which can only be held by an iceborn. This scene is probably Darius trying to recruit the troll army to join Noxus for an upcoming war. But in the end you see his entire arm being frozen because he is a mortal in the end so he can't weild an iceborn weapon. (The war it's leading up to could be the one in the Awaken cinematic vs Ionia) Ps. Yeah that was Katarina fighting Elise. And yeah turning into a spider IS technically her ultimate you are so on-point with the predictions it's wild. Also the symbolism of the decorations being spider web and the masquarade being her luring in victims seems like an amazing plot. It also feels like from Katarina's look that Elise is the actual boss she was meant to kill instead of the dude she was protecting.
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yess. And I don't think he died because we see two trolls carrying him away. (Could be his dead body but I'm assuming he is alive)
I think more than the noxian army trying to recruit the trolls, is an invasion of the troll tribe to noxus but instead of an all out war, it was a duel of champions from each side. As noxus won, the trolls retreated
this is the best cinematic by far. its not a purely epic gamer montage. has storytelling and a good pace. love it. I hope tencent didnt fuck this up with bad decisions. this universe has so much potential with a lot of talented people involved
Elise is essentially a Black Rose "asset". The spider that turned her (Vilemaw), Elise, and The Black Rose have an agreement where LeBlanc basically feeds her victims which she can bring back to Vilemaw at the Shadow Isles. In exchange, LeBlanc gets essentially free reign in the Shadow Isles (at least within Vilemaw's domain) to look for and take any powers or artifacts she can find. (most people are pretty much instantly killed and their souls are harvested if they enter the Shadow Isles.) With this deal, Vilemaw gets fed, Elise has a purpose (and also gets fed) and LeBlanc gets untold magical power. Win,Win,Win
The Ice Troll who was fighting darius is the Troll King (Trundle) from Freljord (Ice Region). His Weapon is magical pure ice that he got from a witch. The Ice trolls are very honorable creatures. They gave darius respect because he touched the Ice infected axes and still won the fight. That was a badass move from darius to touch his axe, because he easily could freeze forever in hell. The best part is his axe shattered and there is an easter egg on the map of the game. you can find his broken axe there as decoration. Because he will get a new one.
I didn't expect such that this video has so much info about league lor and you guesses are lookin pretty decent. Love your content and keeping eye for future league videos good job
at around 12:30 its not black rose petals that she cuts its the necklace of the guy she was targeting, all the gold pieces came undone when she got to his neck. IDK about the stylistic choice of doing that over blood but it could be interesting if their intent was to either dehumanize him in her eyes as gold "value" being an assassin or maybe representing his life in gold attests to his opulent/ostentatious style
Ah! You’re right it is the necklace! I don’t think i’ve seen blood in a cinematic since awaken? I believe its a marketing choice since league has a big Chinese audience and their owned by a Chinese country where its banned to show blood I believe (thinking back to WoW blood being turned white for the Chinese release along with the undead being dumbed down in design).
It's probably because they do not want to show blood, either because league is a pegi 12 game or because in China it would be censored and League has a massive audience there.
@@ShatteredFocusProductions I also felt this cut freeing all the gold pieces was showing that the assassins contract was completed, i didn't even realise he was dead until we see it later on in the cinematic it was so quick
Vladimir is not a vampire, altough all the looks and name itself being deceiving, he is a BloodMancer as he dove into the arts of Hemomancy. Le blanc was the creator of the Black rose, and you can say Vladimir was the co-founder. He was once human, but he has lived thousands of years.
“At the height of the Reign Of The Iron Revenant, it was said that a mythic and bloodthirsty fiend haunted the coastal cliffs of eastern Valoran, demanding young lives and savage worship from the local barbaric Noxii tribes. Few were welcome in his lair, until the day a pale sorceress approached the barbarian god with an offer. The two feasted together as equals, weaving magic so dark that the wine at their table soured, and the roses withered, vibrant red turning to black. This encounter would result in the formation of the Black Rose, and so began the pact between Vladimir and LeBlanc.” -League of Legends Wiki So you were basically right on the money in regards to their dynamic. 👍
Man your reactions always teach me how to pay more attention to details. Love it! Ps. you asked me to connect with you over some filmmaking tips, I haven't gotten the times with my exams going on 😢
I'm quite sure Mel got Targonian's blood (the gold one, maybe that's the guy Ambessa slept with to get the power), and related with the sun aspect (check Leona story).
Without trying to spoilt too much here is a bit of info. Mel you already know, no need to introduce The Guy with the axe VS the troll with the club. The guy with the axe is Darius. He WILL be one of the 3 main leader and strongest general in Noxus, saying will because from the scene how he looks and what he is doing, we can tell he is actually younger so this scene plays "somewhat" in the past compared to Darius's cannon lore. Without spoiling his story but to understand his character, he will be the 3 main leader of noxus, the strongest general, representing Noxus's strength. So we can guess he will fight with all his might, never surrender and give everything for victory. He fights trundle the King of Ice Trolls wielding that ice club that is True Ice. True ice can only be used by Iceborns from Freljord, one other you actually saw was Sejuani from the call. She was the woman riding that giant boar and fighting the bears. At the end she threw her weapon (not sure what it's called) and froze the bear shamas, which is also true ice. Another true ice user who didn't really show her powers in the cinematic is Ashe from Still Here, she is the archer lady at the end who comes to save his man. Also bit of geography and culture info of the Freljord, it borders Noxus's Northern/Northwestern region. It is a region not some empire, consist of multiple tribes, and it's the survival of the fittest. It's the coldest place in the continent. Also the tribes are not united. There are multiple human tribes and also trolls, yetis and more. Next the red hair lady is yes Katarina, she is an assassin from a noble Noxian family. She is fighting Elise the spider lady. They are both noxian but belong to different "factions" which we can guess else why would they fight. I don't really want to say what factions they belong, can be guessed for non league story people, but I'm sure the series will cover both of their factions. Then at the end LeBlanc, who is yes the leader of the black rose and also WILL/kinda IS one of the main leader of Noxus. The current noxus in league has 3 main leaders but as I said with darius this happens before that is established, so really she is just now Black Rose leader, having influence everywhere. Her story is unique as well and even in the league story her origin is not that clear, I won't say what we know of her and what she fights for because that'll be 100% in the new Series, but her starting to move and plan can be traced back ~500 years before the founding of Noxus. The current timeline should be somewhat around ~900-1000 years after the founding of Noxus so overall from the current timeline it's roughly ~1500 years ago when she started moving Vladimir is then the white short hair guy. He, as we can see from the scene, knows LeBlanc and the Black Rose. We could say he is a vampire but that's mehh true. Basically when LeBlanc started to move around ~1500 years ago he was sent to somewhere as "political hostage" (yes he is noble, but not originally from Noxus). He there later learn blood magic and became immortal who could live on blood so yeah "vampire" but no bat controlling, sun as weakness or garlic or silver so yeah. He met LeBlanc ~100 years, after becoming immortal. One person who was not shown here but teased in Arcane and I'm sure so many league lore enjoyers wanted to see him in this video is Swain. In Arcane Season 2 end we saw a 3 eyed raven which basically represents swain. he WILL also be the 3 main leader of noxus, being the political leader. I would love to write more, but it might touch spoilers and even if I want to tell stories like Vladimir and LeBlanc's past around ~1500 years ago, which 100% won't be covered in the series in details maybe just mentioned, the Darkin War is a huge story which can be it's own series with 100 episodes. Riot also might touch on this but changing existing cannon lore is not a good idea, like they did with Arcane (because of Arcane so many Piltoven/Zaun characters got "deleted" from the lore). Edit: Made some changes to the dates because a comment made me realise after I slept that I took the founding of Noxus, year 0 as the base of current timeline but after I read the comment I realised what a stupid mistake I made because we are like 1000 years into the future after year 0 :DD
I don't know if you got the timeline confused or I just suck at looking things up but the sources I found dated the history of LeBlanc, Vladimir and the Black Rose to at least 100 BN (before Noxus), with the current events being at least 950 AN (after Noxus). I don't know where exactly you're getting your dates from or if you thought the Reign of the Iron Revenant was 100 AN to 400 AN, not 400 BN to 100 BN.
@@nekiritan6779 Ah yes sorry it was late for me when I wrote the comment so for some reason I mistook founding Noxus as current events. Will fix it in the post. But to clarify it because I think you also might misremember it or I might just interpret your comment incorrectly !!TIMELINE AND PAST EVENTS SPOILER!! - The Founding of Noxus marks year 0 in the timeline. - The Darkin War happened ~550 years before. that's where LeBlanc started her moves. She was paying a bit attention to the Darkins and was starting to make her move. This is also the time Vladimir got sent to the Darkins as a Hostage and starting to learn dark magic. - Had to fact check this and also check Necrit's timeline but the Reign of the Iron Revenant started ~400 years before the founding of Noxus. While it's true it was not a barbarian tribe land anymore, because mordekaiser "united" (conquered) and made the empire back when we was alive, but it was also not the nation we know as Noxus yet. Then ~400 years ago he was resurrected as Mordekaiser and the Reign of the Iron Revenant begin. That lasted 300 years and by the time he was sealed it was ~100 before the founding of Noxus and we could say that's the "founding" of the Black Rose (we don't really know during that 300 years if LeBlanc already founded it or it happened after defeating it etc. We know here that he was sealed beneath the immortal bastion and roughly it took ~100 years after the sealing that people settled around the bastion and made the nation Noxus. Wanted to clarify this part because for me that is Year 0 if I understand everything correctly. Anyway the Mordekaiser part is not that important for the original comment I wrote because I just wanted to point out the time when LeBlanc and Vladimir first started to become somewhat active but still wasn't know.
Arcane is set in the past (a decade-ish?) compared to the in game characters. Darius was de-aged for the ~Arcane S2 era time line the same way Cait/Vi/Jinx/etc are younger than they are in the game
In fact you are correct, it was an invitation of the black rose, they need strong people, very strong one, whatever they are assassin, mage, warrior. in order to fight one of the past leader of Noxus. MORDEKAISER. so for a skin line name the MASQUE OF THE BLACK ROSE, an invitation was sent to mages (sent by elise the spider lady herself).
I think you got slightly confused. morde is not a former leader of noxus. he is a warlord who ruled over the land where noxus was founded until Leblanc betrayed him and helped the noxii tribes beat him and seal his remains within the immortal bastion(his fortress) before founding noxus there.
Vladmir was meant to be a sacrifice for the Darkin during the Darkin war, but the Darkin let him study their power for their own amusement. He ended up learning hemomancy(blood magic) from them, and used it for their benefit. but after the Darkin got sealed away he just recruited people so that he could live forever. You were also spot on with the two at the end being the leaders of the Black Rose, they are actually the founders as well, their names are Vladmir and Leblanc. and the sword they are looking at kind of looks like Riven's blade. Note: *Here on out is just speculation* I think that they are planning on putting a Darkin in Riven's blade, and at the end Vladmir is warning Leblanc of their power(because he has been in contact with them) It would explain why the Black Rose has been chasing Riven throughout pretty much the whole world. (Riven is the girl fighting in the arena pit in Awaken)
i was thinking it could just be about creating the sword itself since it has magic power from runes and is presented as quite rare if not unique in the lore. Vladimir opposing the project as Leblanc speak of piltover(where they had interest in hextech aka magic controlled through runes) as a lesson could be because he doesn't think it can be made to work safely without a power source like the gemstones while Leblanc think they can outdo the piltovians. Although I like the theory of sealing a darkin inside the sword. It could also be about controlling nafiri. the black rose monitored Samira's activity in the shurimian desert, where nafiri is and the blade kinda looks like nadir's dagger.
@@math-yx3tw I thought that at first to, but afterI looked at it longer, then it looked like Riven's blade more than Naafiri's to me personally. But I think that either case would be so cool to see.
As always, great reaction! Love to see your breakdowns based on what you can read from the video! Also, love that you picked up on the darkin imagery quickly at the end after learning about Aatrox from Still Here! Looking forward to your Arcane reactions! Also happy new year to you as well!
You were 100% spot on, although Vladimir technically not a vampire but a bloodmage, he definitely is same rank to Leblanc, and he learned that kind of magic from the Darkin
The ice club is called true ice os a weapon that can only wielded by an iceborn a ice magic that can froze anyone who touch it, and there are some an ice born character in the league : trundle (ice troll), ash, sejuani (both are the descendants of three sister), braum (just a big strong man with moustache his heart even bigger than his muscle), nunu & wilump (little boy and the last yeti), lisandra (the ice with and one of the three sister), and few other characters. This true ice is so powerful so not everyone can use it or even worthy enough to hold it
@ShatteredFocusProductions yeah sure I'm glad I can help, and also true ice is supposed to be unbreakable can't be melted down by fire or any magic but in the video the weapon can be cut through by the axe, so that was bit confused for who know the lore
I got no lore beyond what people have already said. I just gotta say I watched this last night and my first thought was about how excited I was to see your reaction vid. Loved watching your analysis as always cause you always point out just why certain moments hit hard and what's so amazing about these cinematics.
The important thing about the Troll's club is that it is made of True Ice, which can freeze anything/anybody that touches it if they are not iceborn. (the iceborn is pretty much just a race of people)
@@ShatteredFocusProductions The guy in Still Here is Tryndamere, and his sword doesn't have magical properties. His power comes from when he fought the Darkin that was in Still Here, and got stabbed, but since the blade had a Darkin in it, then Darkin blood mixed with his which is why his eyes turned red while fighting Kindred, because Darkin cannot technically die, he is not fully Darkin, so it would be possible, but very difficult to actually defeat Tryndamere. But to answer your question, his sword is not of true ice. However, the girl who saved him at the end of still here is Ashe(Tryndamere's fiancé) and her bow is of true ice. She is in fact an iceborn as well, while Tryndamere is not. (sorry for the rant, I really love league's lore)
In the cinematic, we see characters from League of Legends and Arcane. At the beginning, Mel from Arcane appears. She is not yet in the game but will be added soon (she’s already available on the public beta server - PBE). Darius: The man with the axe is a commander of the Noxian military. He has a brother, Draven, who has appeared in other League of Legends cinematics. Trundle: A troll wielding an ice club, he is the King of Trolls from Freljord. Elise: Known as the Spider Lady, Elise can transform into a massive spider, as seen on the ceiling. She is from Noxus. Katarina: The masked woman is a renowned Noxian assassin. LeBlanc: A woman with black hair and golden eyes, LeBlanc is one of the leaders of the Black Rose. Vladimir: The white-haired man who appears at the end is a master of hemomancy, a type of magic that manipulates blood. This ability has rendered him effectively immortal. Riot has named it the 2025 Season Cinematic, but it also appears to serve as an introduction to the continuation of Arcane in the land of Noxus. It seems that the game and the Arcane series will be more interconnected moving forward, especially since the upcoming League of Legends season is themed around Noxus.
Vladimir is a necromancer performing blood magic. But yes, he is technically League Dracula (but Runeterra doesn't have vampires basically). Also He was talking to Le Blanc who simply put is a mage who can create powerful illusions and is a master of deception.
I mean technically there is at least 1 "vampire" in runeterra now, Briar, but she would not likely appear in the next show. Tho Briar is basically a direct result of Vlad
The asssasin is Katarina, the Redheaded Chick that appears in multiple of the early Cinematics like New Dawn The Spider woman is Elise, a noble that was prisoned by her husband, and she survived by making a deal with a Spider God from the Shadow Isles, the deal includes providing a stream of sacrifices for the god to consume ... she is part of Black Rose. For Black Rose the deal facilitates for them the ability to plunder artifacts from the Shadow Isles. Trundle a Troll with the ability to wield a True Ice weapon from the Freljord, people who are able to use such weapons are called Iceborn, the thing with True Ice is that if a non Ice born touches it it will kill them, and before that they will suffer excruciating pain. While it was not directly touching True Ice, the fact that Darius the Noxian General was able to use the freezing axe to do a strike without outright dying is a testament to the mans tenacity. If I have one complain I was hoping this would help clarify where Arcane fits on the Timeline. Unfortunately this did no help at all Darius and Trundle here seem to be younger, Darius was fighting in the north at the borders of Freljord during the Invasion of Ionia The discussion between LaBlanc and Vladimir the 2 immortal schemers and the Leaders of the Black Rose, happened after Arcane, as Mel landed in Noxus territory, but could be happening before/during or after the Invasion of Ionia. Katarian going after members of the Black Rose should be happening after Swains Coup and the end of the Invasion. The scenes can be happening at different times, so still we are left with no Idea when Arcane happened The Vision Mel has about fighting towards the Immortal Bastion, the center of Noxus and the secret base of the Black Rose, is about her fighting their forces, probably the Grey Leagion an army of unded soldiers raised through Hemomancy ie Blood Magic ... and the red magic wielding figures that attack her would be Hemomancers ... they learned this magic from Vladimir who learned it as a hostage to the Darkin from a distant land over the ocean.
You are probably right about that blade with eye has a connection with a Darkin because Naafiri is a Darkin and her dagger has an eye. Maybe LeBlanc found her.
20:58 Technically this isn't in anyway connected or indicative of what's to come with Riot's planned shows as they said on Reddit, as this is just a trailer for this year's season of the game just like what they do every year. But I'm pretty sure that's just their own way of teasing what may come to Riot's new shows but not confirming what was shown as a part of the next shows, so that they have leeway if ever they decide to change courses for what they want to do for any show coming in 3 years or more.
Hi about last talk between vladimir and LeBlanc(also we saw her in arcane when she took mel for training). I wanna give information about Black Rose and LeBlanc the black rose built by LeBlanc about 2000 years ago when Noxus established. The first emperor (Mordecaiser) has LeBlanc at his council. Also quick information about morde; he was given Darkins by Viego to not to counquare viego's kingdom. The place that LeBlanc and Vlad is talking got takes their source of power as morde's power. Morde lives in a diffrent dimention. Vlad and LeBlanc are the controller of Black Rose and their purposes are good.
Already so many excellent comments, am loving this! A couple of things to add that are very niche but made me smile. Trundle pulls off 3 parts of Darius' armour, in game his (Trundle's) ult removes 40% armour so that was a very nice detail. We know from Arcane they add in details from abilities into the animation so really pleased to see this included. Mel's visions: she is seeing the past, present and future of Noxus, where her gold essence flares is when she is seeing events that involve the Black Rose. The giant statues seem to allude to the Immortal Bastion the largest building in Noxus, which is also a prison holding a feared warlord called Mordekaiser who literally came back from the dead because he was annoyed that his afterlife wasn't what he was promised. The Black Rose have been searching for a way to defeat him for centuries including raising human weapons (read up on the character Rell in this regard) and this alludes that Mel might be their next attempt. The Le Blanc image resembles Morde's outline. Vladimir: originally from Camavor (the region that is not on the map of Runeterra but is where Viego was originally from) he was given as a hostage to the Darkin who taught him the ways of blood magic. he like Le Blanc is very powerful and very very old, his art style here is more similar to Viego than ever before showing his links to Camavor.
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yeah one of her skill allow her to teleport to her knife and to add a bonus when she pick up her knife she kinda spin, that spin is also part of her skillset.
Vladamir the male character at the end has an extremely good short story that explains the character better then I ever could called "Art is life". Its a simple 5-10 minute read and explains a lot of the motives and mentality of the character. Like most of the black rose he really only shows his head or power when absolutely required to preserve his own peace or to assist in the matters that threaten him or his followers as he has effectively created a cult within the city called the crimson circle. Although his character originally started as a generic vampire when he was originally released he has been constantly pushed away from that trope as they shifted him towards being a hemomancer.
Okay REALLY quick lore rundown. The Maskparty was set up by Elise(Spiderlady) on behalf of LeBlanc to recruit new member for the Black Rose. Katarina is a Noxian assassine sent by someone to kill the dude. We don't know why and some even belive the whoke thing was also a trap for Katarina specifically. A reasons are that she has teleportation abilitys where she can tp to her daggers and have her daggers tp to her. This works with blood magic a black rose specialty. The Troll and Darius fight is... not really something we know a great deal about. Darius did try and conquer tge north but we didnt know about him fighting the trolls so not much lore here Mel is up against the so called grey legion. Its a branch of the Black Rose dedicated to undead warriors and blood magic. Why them? Maybe she is looking into ways to resurrect Ambessa? We dont know And finally LeBlanc and Vladimir... idk where to start. They are both founding Members of the Black Rose. They are most likely below the imortal bastion. Now no one has yet found out what the symbol ar the end is referencing.
Caitl mell’in annesiyle dövüşmeden önce “shut up end fight” demişti. Noxus askeri dövüşeceği zaman rakibe odaklanıp hayatı pahasına dövüşür. Darius’un dövüşü de aynı hissiyatı verdi; müzik kesiliyor, sadece ortam sesi var, ‘kaybedersem ölürüm’… Ağazım açık izledim
Something I've not seen in anyone else's comments is the specifics of the symbol you correctly identified as being another Darkin at the end of the video. Definitely correct, there is actually a known Darkin who fits that exact symbol even. However its a little strange, because in the current lore, that dagger is no where near Noxus, it's actually in a completely different area of Runeterra, a Desert called Shurima. The current lore of that dagger is that rather than Aatrox's host having found his Sword and being transformed, the Dagger got found by a pack of wild dogs, and it transformed one of them into its host instead, with the dagger also having the power to take over the rest of its packs minds as well. The main Dog that was transformed is known as Naafiri. Look at google images, it was transformed rather dramatically. So i'm quite curious where thats going. What I am expecting out of the show however is what a lot of others have commented mentioning. With the mention of calamity approaching, the big big Calamity that could happen within Noxian Borders is MORDEKAISER being set loose. Mordekaiser is a Revenant who was bound inside his armor after dying, and as his armor took over the entire continent of Runeterra in the past. Only via Leblanc and Vladimir was he imprisoned inside the major landmark of the largest Noxian City, called the Immortal Bastion. Him being set loose would be a world ending threat on the level of Viktor in Arcane, as he essentially can't die, he conquered death itself. He also, during his previous reign, captured the souls of all the mortals he slew, recruiting him for his army, should he die again.
My take on the end is that LeBlanc has somehow decided the events in Piltover in Arcane S2 mean the Black Rose needs a Darken, and Vladimir, who knows first hand how dangerous they are, has... concerns.
If you like Masquerade, id recommend checking out Wuthering Waves new 2.0 patch. The new area is based off of Italy, and the theme is Carnevale and Masquerade.
Where did everybody got the info that the next series will be about Noxus? It's not confirmed guys!!! And Mel appearing is more of a champion trailer than a hit that the next show will be a direct continuation of Arcane.
Great reaction ! You were mostly on point with everything . It was indeed a black rose masquerade dance that Katarina infiltrated to take down that guy . At the end , that is the face reveal for the witch in arcane that was following Mel and trying to kill Ambessa throughout all of season 2 , disguised as Ammara and the shadow mage in the illusions .
The troll chief is Trundle, King of the trolls. Self proclaimed but he's also one of the strongest and wears a crown which is basically the only requirements for trolls. He also is one of the Iceborn, who are descendants of the ice witch Lissandra's followers. They are resistant to the cold and more importantly are able to wield True Ice weapons, like Trundle's club. The shop keeper in game jokes about putting a piece of True Ice in a furnace and "it froze the darn thing solid!" Darius only touched if for a few seconds and it already started to kill him showing us his strength as a warrior in comparison. You are definitely correct in saying this is a younger Darius than we're used to and tells us a lot about where in the timeline we are and hints at what the Noxus show will be about.
i know you all want mel to take down the black rose, but that might not be the best idea...or are you all agents of the one and only angry warlord Mordekaiser ?
@@ShatteredFocusProductions id say that would be season 3, if mel destroys the black rose and frees mordekaiser. have you watched any of necrits videos ? he also already did a video on this new cinematic, explaining all the lore references
I’m not a lore guy by any means but after arcane and blood sweat tears its shown us that Ambessa / mel were chosen of the wolf aka kindred. I could be wrong but thats what I’m gathering🤷♂️
EXPLANATION: LeBlanc (the woman at the end) created clan named "Black Rose" (mentioned in Arcane season 2) in order to stop a warlord named Mordekaiser (Sahn-Uzal) from destroying whole Runettera (LOL world). Mordekaiser is being held captive under the so called "Immortal bastion", which he has build. (Immortal bastion is HUGE building in the middle of Noxus city). LeBlanc kidnaps and trains children from a young age to be as strong as possible and helps them awaken certain abilities, essentially forming her own army against Mordekaiser. That's why she appeared in Arcane because she wanted Mel to join the Black Rose because of her powers. For example, one of those children is Elise... the spider woman in the trailer. LeBlacn also collects rare items and various artifacts, again against Mordekaiser, and it is speculated that it was Ambessa who stole one such artifact and that is why LeBlanc took revenge on her by killing Kino. Also seen in the trailer is Darius - a guy fighting an ice troll named Trundle - Darius is one of the generals of Noxus. Then Katarina - the assassin with red hair who fought with the spider woman Elise. And finally Vladimir - a man who has the ability to control blood and made a pact with LeBlanc. And you already know Mel :) I hope this makes sense. This is a VERY shortened version of the explanation. Each of the characters has a very deep and significant lore.
Just to clear up any confusion, "season" refers to the league of legends ranked season, and isn't referring to a season of a show. While this may turn into a movie or show at some point, it's not confirmed what the next media project will be from Riot/Fortiche.
The troll trundle wields a club made of true ice. Which is a tinted form of ice created when the watchers (gods that want to destroy reality) tried to break into reality. True ice kills everything it touches. Woth one exception. Icebornes are living beeings that also got tinted by the watchers. They are the only ones able to hold true ice. Its still insanly painfull for them. The true display of power was darius being able to withstand true ice for so long. Not winning against trundle
Awesome video as always. Just a tip in case you aren't aware of it; on pc, you can go frame by frame by using , and . on a paused video. I hope that one day you'll do a reaction on Rise (2018 worlds video)too!
We have already seen a darkkin weapon in the League universe for the pack champion, Naafiri, which is a dagger with an eye in it, but it doesn't match the symbolized one perfectly. She/them are from Shurima, the desert location of Runeterra.
Spot on for the most part but Darius leads an invasion into Freljord, and i suspect this is the beginning of the invasion of Freljord, Also its kinda hard to get into True Ice, and rthe frost born without going on a rant, So TLDR Iceborn are people and creature born with magical compatibility to True Ice, anyone that attempts to wield or touch True Ice otherwise with be nearly instantly frozen to death
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yes, based on what was said, the next show is feat. Noxus, Demacia and Ionia (it's unclear how dominant each is featured, but I am guessing they will also do a "3 storyline" kind of thing that somehow comes together)
@@ShatteredFocusProductions I believe the Darkin were originally human warriors of Shurima who asended to god-hood and were, at least in their origin, forces for good and each represented some kind of ideal. They fell to corruption over a long period of time, aimless following the fall of Shurima, and were sealed in weapons. Their powers now don't strictly look like their powers pre-corruption as they have been warped by blood magic and the void, but i'd imagine the distinct nature of their powers is largely two-fold; the nature of the weapon they were sealed in, and their original power. These actually are really only one point however as (someone correct me if wrong) they were sealed in weapons that they likely used before corruption. Varus as in-game now, was in-fact an archer, Aatrox a sword weilder and so on.
Great reaction. The frames kinda drops in your video. Just pointing out since you are the filmmaker, so I would expect fluid screen. Overall great reaction.
I think this video shows the aspects of Strength Ambessa talked about in season 2. Katarina/Elise: Guile. Phantoms. Tricksters. Mages. Absent honor. Absent accountability. Darius: Might. Bending your environment to your will. Your speed is improving. But eventually you need force. Maybe Mel is Vision: Vision. The top of the triangle. Charting a course, and having the wisdom to navigate it. This form is your base child. Your eyes see what others don't.
I don't think this is EXCLUSIVELY a trailer for a new show, but I think it's definitely evidence of where the next show is set. It's a trailer for the new in-game season. Previously they would name their seasons for the whole year, but now they've switched to a model where they do 3 seasons per year, with the first one in this new format being this season dedicated to Noxus. The fact that Mel shows up makes a lot of people think she's gonna be the next champion, but also the new Fortiche treatment for the characters seem like a safe bet that this is where the new show will be set, since Christian Linke said they wanted to go to Demacia, Ionia, and Noxus next, and rumour has it Fortiche has already been working on whatever is next for at least a year now.
@ShatteredFocusProductions hard Same. I think this is a confirmation we're gong to noxus next but I don't think its indicative of how soon we're getting the next show. If the rumours are true and they've been working on it for at least a year, we might hear more announcements by the end of the year, but probably not a solid release date or anything
Maddie had a halo behind her head when she met vi.......just saying. riot has a habit of misdirection. I have a theory mel may be going to noxus to do something good but may unleash something far more terrible by mistake.
I'd advise to watch through the video once without pausing, then going back and watching it, pausing each time you want to comment on it. It makes for a much better viewing experience.
Little details with riot they're adding darius passive skill which is he must atk 5 times to gain a damage overtime that why he swing her axe and trundle cant keep with that because that his ultimate he can easily taking down enemy when they on low health
@ShatteredFocusProductions true, katarina use she ability too when she teleport with her blade and elise can spawn spiderlings, trundle use he passive which is bite
In the wise words of Trundle himself. "Not troll chief. Troll king. KING."
Copy👑
I can hear his voice reading this 😂
Amazing use of in game voice lines!
IM THE TROLL WITH THE PLAN!
"I'M NOT UGLY, BUT YOUR ABOUT TO BE"
I love how each protagonist represents one of the three Noxians principles of strength; Darius is the might, Katarina is guile and Mel is vision.
Copy leagues Roman empire! Thanks for the lore🤠
@@ShatteredFocusProductions also a cool detail, all Noxtorra lead the way to the Immortal Bastion(capital of noxus)
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yes cause all Noxtorra lead to Noxus' capital just like the saying, all roads lead to Rome...
Always so wild how you pick up so much lore about the characters without knowing much of the actual lore. It has me in Awe.
Its the most fun way to figure it out! Glad you enjoyed the video🤠
(The war it's leading up to could be the one in the Awaken cinematic vs Ionia)
Ps.
@@forhax4794 thank you for the explanation🤠
@@forhax4794 guessing Trundle is the troll?
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yess. And I don't think he died because we see two trolls carrying him away. (Could be his dead body but I'm assuming he is alive)
I think more than the noxian army trying to recruit the trolls, is an invasion of the troll tribe to noxus but instead of an all out war, it was a duel of champions from each side. As noxus won, the trolls retreated
@@Silphon1x Could be. I thought it was a recuiting scene because it happens in canon and could be a possible storyline to explore in the next show
this is the best cinematic by far. its not a purely epic gamer montage. has storytelling and a good pace. love it. I hope tencent didnt fuck this up with bad decisions. this universe has so much potential with a lot of talented people involved
One of my favorites for sure!
One little detail that I don't think many people have seen is in how the ball room's floor, the blue design area, IS the Black Rose symbol.
Yea it is and the design of the room ceiling also resembles a spider wed!
Win,Win,Win
Reminds me of the spider in lotr!
Thanks for the lore🙏🤠
Great reaction, your attention to details and their meaning is awesome!

Just here to point out that in the game when you kill someone you get gold. so it might just be that and not anything too deep
Can’t wait to see more of him🤠
“At the height of the Reign Of The Iron Revenant, it was said that a mythic and bloodthirsty fiend haunted the coastal cliffs of eastern Valoran, demanding young lives and savage worship from the local barbaric Noxii tribes.
Few were welcome in his lair, until the day a pale sorceress approached the barbarian god with an offer.
The two feasted together as equals, weaving magic so dark that the wine at their table soured, and the roses withered, vibrant red turning to black. This encounter would result in the formation of the Black Rose, and so began the pact between Vladimir and LeBlanc.”
-League of Legends Wiki
So you were basically right on the money in regards to their dynamic. 👍
Thanks for the lore🤠🙏

Ps. you asked me to connect with you over some filmmaking tips, I haven't gotten the times with my exams going on 😢
I’m glad you’re enjoying them! Also no worries I’ll be here when/if you ever need advice or guidance in breaking in🤠
I'm quite sure Mel got Targonian's blood (the gold one, maybe that's the guy Ambessa slept with to get the power), and related with the sun aspect (check Leona story).
Ah that would be interesting!
7:43 really love that the music stopped here cause it just so how savage and vicious this fight about to be.
Best part of the cinematic easily🤠
Without trying to spoilt too much here is a bit of info.
Mel you already know, no need to introduce
The Guy with the axe VS the troll with the club.
The current timeline should be somewhat around ~900-1000 years after the founding of Noxus so overall from the current timeline it's roughly ~1500 years ago when she started moving
Vladimir is then the white short hair guy.
Really appreciate the detailed explanation🤠!!!
Nice explanation, and to clarify Vadimir is a hemomancer who drives his power from darkin's origin, so calling him a vampire is misplaced haha
Anyway the Mordekaiser part is not that important for the original comment I wrote because I just wanted to point out the time when LeBlanc and Vladimir first started to become somewhat active but still wasn't know.
also the Necrit video is out so the Lore Master will tell us what's happening exactly
Arcane is set in the past (a decade-ish?) compared to the in game characters. Darius was de-aged for the ~Arcane S2 era time line the same way Cait/Vi/Jinx/etc are younger than they are in the game
Noted thank you!
Word!🤠
Note: *Here on out is just speculation*
I think that they are planning on putting a Darkin in Riven's blade, and at the end Vladmir is warning Leblanc of their power(because he has been in contact with them) It would explain why the Black Rose has been chasing Riven throughout pretty much the whole world. (Riven is the girl fighting in the arena pit in Awaken)
Thank you for the lore! I can’t wait to see the next show and hopefully Riven as well!
i was thinking it could just be about creating the sword itself since it has magic power from runes and is presented as quite rare if not unique in the lore.
Appreciate ya and glad you enjoy the videos🤠
You were 100% spot on, although Vladimir technically not a vampire but a bloodmage, he definitely is same rank to Leblanc, and he learned that kind of magic from the Darkin
Ah! No wonder he was nervous about the sword at the end👀
This true ice is so powerful so not everyone can use it or even worthy enough to hold it
Exclusive weapon copy! Thanks for the lore🤠
The "particle effects" are animated by hand
Oh I can tell! My favorite is the blue hex tech left over after the explosion in Arcane s2 E1🤠 Love this studio
noxus is pretty much the "evil/dark" fantasy roman empire so you hit it right on the head.
🤙🤠
Another thing for all those who play league, Darius' broken axe is actually in top lane in the new map.
Thats dope🤠
The important thing about the Troll's club is that it is made of True Ice, which can freeze anything/anybody that touches it if they are not iceborn. (the iceborn is pretty much just a race of people)
Dope! Is the guys sword in Still Here have true ice in it?
@@ShatteredFocusProductions i think so, it would explain the snowflake reacting to it
@@blackreaper2343 that was just to add effect to the scene.
@@DeathBeyondShadows been years since i've read trynd's lore and forgot whether he was iceborn or not
In the cinematic, we see characters from League of Legends and Arcane.
Appreciate the explanation🤠
Have you checked Tales of Runetera Cinematics?
There is one about Noxus with Darius, the Warrior from this trailer.
I reacted to some but not all. I might need to do all of them in one big video🤠
Vladimir is a necromancer performing blood magic. But yes, he is technically League Dracula (but Runeterra doesn't have vampires basically). Also He was talking to Le Blanc who simply put is a mage who can create powerful illusions and is a master of deception.
Not a necromancer but a hemomancer
Word! Can’t wait to see him die in the show😂 JK but anyone with the name Vladimir is the high fantasy equivalent of being a red shirt😂
Vladimir is like the opposite of a Red Shirt. ^^
I mean technically there is at least 1 "vampire" in runeterra now, Briar, but she would not likely appear in the next show. Tho Briar is basically a direct result of Vlad
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Vladimir is far from a red shirt. He is ancient and VERY powerful.
The asssasin is Katarina, the Redheaded Chick that appears in multiple of the early Cinematics like New Dawn
The Spider woman is Elise, a noble that was prisoned by her husband, and she survived by making a deal with a Spider God from the Shadow Isles, the deal includes providing a stream of sacrifices for the god to consume ... she is part of Black Rose.
Unfortunately this did no help at all
Darius and Trundle here seem to be younger, Darius was fighting in the north at the borders of Freljord during the Invasion of Ionia
The discussion between LaBlanc and Vladimir the 2 immortal schemers and the Leaders of the Black Rose, happened after Arcane, as Mel landed in Noxus territory, but could be happening before/during or after the Invasion of Ionia.
Katarian going after members of the Black Rose should be happening after Swains Coup and the end of the Invasion.
The scenes can be happening at different times, so still we are left with no Idea when Arcane happened
The Vision Mel has about fighting towards the Immortal Bastion, the center of Noxus and the secret base of the Black Rose, is about her fighting their forces, probably the Grey Leagion an army of unded soldiers raised through Hemomancy ie Blood Magic ... and the red magic wielding figures that attack her would be Hemomancers ... they learned this magic from Vladimir who learned it as a hostage to the Darkin from a distant land over the ocean.
Thank you for the character breakdowns🙏 Always a huge help🤠
You are probably right about that blade with eye has a connection with a Darkin because Naafiri is a Darkin and her dagger has an eye. Maybe LeBlanc found her.
Heres hoping🙏
20:58 Technically this isn't in anyway connected or indicative of what's to come with Riot's planned shows as they said on Reddit, as this is just a trailer for this year's season of the game just like what they do every year.
But I'm pretty sure that's just their own way of teasing what may come to Riot's new shows but not confirming what was shown as a part of the next shows, so that they have leeway if ever they decide to change courses for what they want to do for any show coming in 3 years or more.
Well either way I’m hype! I hope we get this story expanded on🤠
You are the best, man. Love how you can understand the universe of lol only with the info of the video... Srry for my english😅
Appreciate ya! By the end of the year I’ll be a lore master for sure😂 also no need to apologize! English is a bs language anyway😂
“Good”
Already so many excellent comments, am loving this!
Thank you for the lore and pointing out the in-game details they included🤠
You were correct about the fight between Katarina and Elise(spider lady), what they did are indeed using ingame abilities. Even the teleport at 14:11
Nice! And the knife in the ground as well?
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yeah one of her skill allow her to teleport to her knife and to add a bonus when she pick up her knife she kinda spin, that spin is also part of her skillset.
@@skywalkerjohn8965 shes an animators nightmare😂
Vladamir the male character at the end has an extremely good short story that explains the character better then I ever could called "Art is life". Its a simple 5-10 minute read and explains a lot of the motives and mentality of the character. Like most of the black rose he really only shows his head or power when absolutely required to preserve his own peace or to assist in the matters that threaten him or his followers as he has effectively created a cult within the city called the crimson circle. Although his character originally started as a generic vampire when he was originally released he has been constantly pushed away from that trope as they shifted him towards being a hemomancer.
Thanks for the lore🤠🙏
Okay REALLY quick lore rundown.
The Maskparty was set up by Elise(Spiderlady) on behalf of LeBlanc to recruit new member for the Black Rose. Katarina is a Noxian assassine sent by someone to kill the dude. We don't know why and some even belive the whoke thing was also a trap for Katarina specifically. A reasons are that she has teleportation abilitys where she can tp to her daggers and have her daggers tp to her. This works with blood magic a black rose specialty.
The Troll and Darius fight is... not really something we know a great deal about. Darius did try and conquer tge north but we didnt know about him fighting the trolls so not much lore here
Mel is up against the so called grey legion. Its a branch of the Black Rose dedicated to undead warriors and blood magic. Why them? Maybe she is looking into ways to resurrect Ambessa? We dont know
And finally LeBlanc and Vladimir... idk where to start. They are both founding Members of the Black Rose. They are most likely below the imortal bastion. Now no one has yet found out what the symbol ar the end is referencing.
Appreciate ya and the lore🤠🙏
Caitl mell’in annesiyle dövüşmeden önce “shut up end fight” demişti. Noxus askeri dövüşeceği zaman rakibe odaklanıp hayatı pahasına dövüşür. Darius’un dövüşü de aynı hissiyatı verdi; müzik kesiliyor, sadece ortam sesi var, ‘kaybedersem ölürüm’… Ağazım açık izledim
Best part of the video!
I can’t wait for this to be animated! Though i’d suspect they would ensure season 1 on him bring released and having him be the big bad for season 2
Just saying. This is a teaser for the game new season, but i want to think this is also a teaser for the next arcane series location.
I hope so too🤠
My take on the end is that LeBlanc has somehow decided the events in Piltover in Arcane S2 mean the Black Rose needs a Darken, and Vladimir, who knows first hand how dangerous they are, has... concerns.
Every good story needs a good conflict🤠
I'm thinking they need powerful people .. and conflict and calamity produce that kind of people for them to recruit
LeBlanc said "Piltover was a lesson..." She did NOT intend for it do go the way it did. Namely with Mel coming after her.
I DUNNO BRO , u remind me of the bald JD vance meme, don't get me wrong loved the reaction LOL
😂
If you like Masquerade, id recommend checking out Wuthering Waves new 2.0 patch. The new area is based off of Italy, and the theme is Carnevale and Masquerade.
Bet👀🤠
Also EXCUSE ME Vladimir is a Hemomancer. He is an ancient Bloodmage that sucks people blood out to stay young. CLEARLY not a vampire
Fsking semantics
😂😂😂
definitely NOT censorship dodging
I am sorry to say but there wont be a league series anytime soon. This story will take place in the game and comics
😢
nahhh
9:10 this is also theorized to be a teaser that darius will have a different weapon wich might mean a rework ?
Oh? That be a cool way to do it👀
Where did everybody got the info that the next series will be about Noxus? It's not confirmed guys!!! And Mel appearing is more of a champion trailer than a hit that the next show will be a direct continuation of Arcane.
Word of mouth for me🤷♂️
not sure if it was said (excuse me if someone did) Vladimir is a Blood Mage. (Trained by the darkin before they were sealed in their weapons
Oh so he’s ancient!
Noted! Thank you for the lore🤠
Honestly, you sometimes cut yourself short a ramble, and I'm like "No, please, ramble away!"
Copy that!🤠
The troll chief is Trundle, King of the trolls.
16:53 that s not her default skin --.--
I remember her from dawn. Was that her default?
i know you all want mel to take down the black rose, but that might not be the best idea...or are you all agents of the one and only angry warlord Mordekaiser ?
It would set up season 2 for sure😂🤠
@@ShatteredFocusProductions id say that would be season 3, if mel destroys the black rose and frees mordekaiser.
have you watched any of necrits videos ? he also already did a video on this new cinematic, explaining all the lore references
the kindred you picked up on isn't kindred, but is representing Mel as the wolf. Was said in arcane season 2
I’m not a lore guy by any means but after arcane and blood sweat tears its shown us that Ambessa / mel were chosen of the wolf aka kindred. I could be wrong but thats what I’m gathering🤷♂️
@@ShatteredFocusProductions you are extremely accurate with the lore even though u haven't played the game XD
And you already know Mel :)
I hope this makes sense. This is a VERY shortened version of the explanation. Each of the characters has a very deep and significant lore.
Perfect! Thank you so much🤠
are u aware that by pushing the < and > buttons wile paused. u can go somewhat frame by frame?
Now I do🤙 TY
Just to clear up any confusion, "season" refers to the league of legends ranked season, and isn't referring to a season of a show. While this may turn into a movie or show at some point, it's not confirmed what the next media project will be from Riot/Fortiche.
Copy that🤙 Thanks for clearing it up🤠
The troll trundle wields a club made of true ice.
Appreciate the lore🤠
Awesome video as always. Just a tip in case you aren't aware of it; on pc, you can go frame by frame by using , and . on a paused video.
I hope that one day you'll do a reaction on Rise (2018 worlds video)too!
Appreciate ya!
I did do a reaction to rise! It was years ago so the quality might not be the same but check it out! Lmk if it holds up😂
@ShatteredFocusProductions can't believe I missed that dkskdi ty for letting me know!! Going to watch right away
can't say how on point you are yet since Necrit still hasn't uploaded the analysis video of the cinematic 😂
Then we wait😂
11:56 quality zoom 😂
I try to keep it fun😂
We have already seen a darkkin weapon in the League universe for the pack champion, Naafiri, which is a dagger with an eye in it, but it doesn't match the symbolized one perfectly. She/them are from Shurima, the desert location of Runeterra.
Isnt that where mel’s family is from?👀
@@ShatteredFocusProductions I think so!
KING, TROLL KING! 👑
Don’t know the reference but…. King Troll👑😂
Long time watcher, always great videos.
curious though, do you watch the videos in a slow speed just to catch everything or has it been unintentional?
I watch in normal speed but I imagine my software is recording slow
Spot on for the most part but Darius leads an invasion into Freljord, and i suspect this is the beginning of the invasion of Freljord, Also its kinda hard to get into True Ice, and rthe frost born without going on a rant, So TLDR Iceborn are people and creature born with magical compatibility to True Ice, anyone that attempts to wield or touch True Ice otherwise with be nearly instantly frozen to death
Thanks for the lore🤠
0:00 Hell yea, Always love ur videos. Gonna enjoy the coming half an hour
Glad you enjoy them!
Oh word! I thought the next show was in Noxus😬
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Very much could be! We don't know exactly yet
@@itsnooya8862hope so! I’m loving this enough to want 3 seasons😂
@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yes, based on what was said, the next show is feat. Noxus, Demacia and Ionia (it's unclear how dominant each is featured, but I am guessing they will also do a "3 storyline" kind of thing that somehow comes together)
I didn’t click down and see the rest of your comment! Thank you for the detailed explanation/ lore🤠 I look forward to the test😂
Aatrox 22:37
🤙🤠
Aatrox would make more sense, but that looks closer to the dagger from Naafiri
Whats the difference between the darkins in terms of powers?
Varus as in-game now, was in-fact an archer, Aatrox a sword weilder and so on.
its a diffrent sword. Its Riven's Broken sword.
Oh from Awaken👀
Bolder mean they're gonna devastate Ionia or something
I mean generally you have to follow up the previous show’s big issue so i imagine everyone getting hurt this time😂
Great reaction.
I think the lore attributed those principles to LeBlanc/Faceless (guile), to Darius (might) and to Swain (vision)
@ True but not related to what I said.
@ ok mb misunderstood your point
I think you’re correct!
Have you watched arcane?
Yep! I recorded reactions to it as well🤠
I don't think this is EXCLUSIVELY a trailer for a new show, but I think it's definitely evidence of where the next show is set.
Either way I’m excited for what comes next🤠
@ShatteredFocusProductions hard Same. I think this is a confirmation we're gong to noxus next but I don't think its indicative of how soon we're getting the next show. If the rumours are true and they've been working on it for at least a year, we might hear more announcements by the end of the year, but probably not a solid release date or anything
Maddie had a halo behind her head when she met vi.......just saying. riot has a habit of misdirection. I have a theory mel may be going to noxus to do something good but may unleash something far more terrible by mistake.
@@mjeid4835 not saying shes good or bad just that they are using the sun to represent her …. The sun can be a very pretty but really scary thing👀

Little details with riot they're adding darius passive skill which is he must atk 5 times to gain a damage overtime that why he swing her axe and trundle cant keep with that because that his ultimate he can easily taking down enemy when they on low health
Word! I’ve always loved how the include all their abilities in some form in the cinematics🤠
@ShatteredFocusProductions true, katarina use she ability too when she teleport with her blade and elise can spawn spiderlings, trundle use he passive which is bite
