Now this is an excellent port, not arcade perfect but superbly done, it keeps most of the elements in tact and even has all three characters from the get go. They did a solid job.
@@sloppynyuszi Probably because this was released later in the SNES's run, when developers finally began to figure out the console as time went on. That and were allowed to put more megs in their cartridges when Nintendo allowed it too.
The SNES version was a solid port of the arcade. It's missing some stuff like background details, more than 3 foes onscreen at once, and 3-player play. But the 16-bit consoles were nowhere at the level of arcade specs at the time, so you got what you could get for an arcade port. One thing I'd favor the SNES version over the arcade port of Knights of the Round thought would be the controls as there were separate buttons made for the block and heavy attacks that factor in the SNES controller that made pulling those abilities off without a hitch. For the arcade, both abilities required button combinations to pull since you only had a joystick and two buttons for attacking and jumping. Doing the abilities this way was more cumbersome and tricky to pull off at points, especially with the arcade being harder to plow through than the SNES version due to more foes being onscreen.
I thought this was an excellent port back in the day and even today. When these games first came out we weren't able to directly compare them side by side for the most part, so when getting these, I know I thought as well as all of my friends, that this was pretty damn close to the arcade and we were happy with it. Good video!!
All things considered, I think they did a damn good job on the SNES port. I kinda wish they had released some sort of RAM expansion for the SNES, cus graphically it's a system that could have truly benefitted from it. We could have seen some truly amazing looking arcade ports with much more fluid animation had they released some sort of RAM expansion that attaches to the expansion port on the bottom of the system. Shame we never got such a thing.
Resolution looks a bit lower on the SNES, but otherwise an impressive port! Animations look good, and the (first) level design and layout are remarkably faithful to the arcade game--even the first boss!
The SNES port could have been a lot more faithful to the arcade if devs had taken advantage of the hardware; I mean, games like Star Ocean are four times as big. The idea of arcade perfect ports (especially Capcom titles) had gamers salivating back in the day, so I happily would have paid a little extra.
When I would play my SNES port and cart I thought it was arcade perfect but I can see it's not, but I think they are both fun to play and they play almost exactly the same. Nice video comparison though I liked it a lot.
This was a great port. I didn’t even know there was an arcade version before the Capcom collection. The differences are minimal and in the case of color the snes actually has better ones. Details and backgrounds go to the arcade tho.
Arcade Very Strong Machine Snes excellent Ports👍 more close to the arcade look like they can do more than unbelievable voice sounds almost same⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍 SNES!!!!!!
@Professor Mike AmericanuckRadio Sure it looked less colorful but way worse sound? Maybe the voice samples but the arcade version uses a Yamaha FM sound chip just like the Genesis one so it chould have sounded just as good on the right hands.
Man, as a kid I never knew there was a port of this game for the Snes, I used to play it a lot in the Arcade never realizing that I could have been playing it at home... Also it's a very good port.
One of my favorite Snes's games ever. Capcom did a really good job on this port. The graphic design of this game is beautiful.
Yea but the arcade version looks much better
@@ferkramer2817 Indeed.

Yes the SNES version is a good example of how to port an arcade game correctly.
I wonder why this was given more care than Final Fight?

Great port consider no 16 bit port could never live up to arcades. Those days we were happy enough to have it look as close as possible.

snes could support more enemies on the screen if it had a better processor.
Yes, FUCK Nintendo's GAY-ASS soccermom politics... Making kids GAY since the 1990's!!! 😡😡😡

One of my favorite ports from arcades, to SNES
(Tio John 😉)
John cargnin Me too!! :D
This was a good port. Also knights of the round was one of the earliest beat em ups to have a blocking system, which is nice.

At least 128MB of extra RAM would have been needed; considering how WEAK and FAKE the system was...
Love the BGM in the SNES version.
Snes very very good and stereo :)
That s snes power. One of best port on SNES
Resolution looks a bit lower on the SNES, but otherwise an impressive port! Animations look good, and the (first) level design and layout are remarkably faithful to the arcade game--even the first boss!
One if the best beat em ups for the snes!
This game brings to my mind Golden axe.
Arcade wins!

some of the background is really simplified and the colors are worse.
but it's a good version.
When I would play my SNES port and cart I thought it was arcade perfect but I can see it's not, but I think they are both fun to play and they play almost exactly the same. Nice video comparison though I liked it a lot.
They done a great job converting this on thes SNES, definitely a better job than sega done with golden axe on the megadrive
I played the hell out of the SNES version but I love the arcade and knew it looked a little better. Also the blood...
Superb conversion, along with the King of dragons!! Love the Snes:)
Muito obrigado!
Pedi a sugestão dessa comparação faz um tempo.
Muito obrigado por fazer.
,😙😘
Of course, much less enemies on screen, but a very solid port, in general.
Am I the only one who noticed that the character select menu sounds somewhat like Guile's from Street Fighter II?
Is very faithfull but not perfect, mainly because of on screen enemies.
That intro music never gets old
One of Capcom's 2 medieval themed games, the other being The King Of Dragons.
One of my all-time favorite SNES games. 🗡️
I fucking LOVE this game on SNES!!
Great port!
This was a great port. I didn’t even know there was an arcade version before the Capcom collection. The differences are minimal and in the case of color the snes actually has better ones. Details and backgrounds go to the arcade tho.
Not 1:1 perfect, but the SNES port is actually REALLY good.
Not perfect but damn that’s a good port.
Love the work done put into this arcade side scroller gem port
Please do Virtual Bart SNES vs Genesis right now
Impressive port, i'm surprised!
Do Mortal Kombat 3 Master System vs Mega Drive please
Arcade, because of the three-player co-op.
Bom port ,Snes ✌
Legal, exelente trabalho!!!
Arcade perfect port wow
No
Yeah
16-Bit rules
Buen video
A mi me gustaría visitar esos parajes, pasar allí alguna noche durmiendo y bañarme en esos lagos.
Better music SNES. Better grapgics Cps1
For me snes have better colors and everything else on the arcade is better
Arcade Very Strong Machine
Snes excellent Ports👍 more close to the arcade look like they can do more than unbelievable voice sounds almost same⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍 SNES!!!!!!
Versão do snes é bem competente, versão arcade possui cores mais suaves.

Buena versión de Super Nintendo
ARCADE!
Arcade wins!
Yes, FUCK Nintendo's GAY-ASS soccermom politics... Making kids GAY everywhere like since the 1990's!!! 😡😡😡
Cool game
arcade wins
Bom port.
Snes is even better!!!!
Γιωργος Συμεων yeah only 3 enemies maximum in screen, low resolution, downgrade background, less animation Sprites .. yeah better.
Too bad there wasn’t a Genesis port. I’m sure it would have rivaled the arcade and put the SNES version to shame!

Good port, but a Golden Axe ripoff either way.
Too bad this game is not on the genesis :(

There's a unlicenced game called Water Margin and basically is a rip off of Knights of the Round but set on ancient china. Looks and sounds good.
This would've been a solid port on the Genesis...likely less colors, bad voice sampling, but higher resolution, and more enemies on screen.
Man, as a kid I never knew there was a port of this game for the Snes, I used to play it a lot in the Arcade never realizing that I could have been playing it at home... Also it's a very good port.
SNES graphic 75% arcade.

Too much trumpets and weak percussions for my taste on the SNES version. I prefer the FM soundtrack
