There's a melancholic feel to this game's soundtrack that just makes it so darn nostalgic, I played this game a lot when I was a kid but I think that even someone that never played it could listen to its soundtrack and still feel some nostalgia (or I guess anemoia, which is when you feel nostalgic for something you didn't even experience lol) . For some time it almost felt intentional since after this game there was like a 10 year period where Capcom didn't release a classic MegaMan game.

I still wonder why some people say that the GBA ost is better than Snes, in all aspects is worse, quality, sound channels available, the sounds themselves aren't even the same but approximations in general it sounds like 8 bit music through a cheap microphone, I hope is pure nostalgia talking instead of an actual belief that they have.
Its because that 8 bit sound gives the songs a bit more punch. Imo the snes OST sounds so barren and weak without the intense percussion the GBA's sound compression offers. For example, on GBA this song not only has more intense drums, but the leading instrument has a higher pitch giving it a "icy" sorta feel. Also the tempo was made slightly slower which fits the more sorrowful tone of this song in particular.
