- Dropper seatpost is part of our bikes which easily escapes our attention during service, but in fact it is a very simple process which will prolong the life of your dropper.

Really useful and informative, great job thanks!
This is a very good and informative video! Kiitos paljon!
Supernice video. Big thx. Will watch again next service.
Great video! My dropper was behaving rather weird after last ride (getting stuck at the bottom, going up extremely slowly and just feeling off). After cleaning and greasing everything up it is working awesome again! And that in only 25/30ish minutes of work. Sweet!
Such a helpful video. Mine is 9 months old and was starting to show a little play (i.e. movement) so I thought I'd service it. Your instructions were spot on. I bought some new keys from SDG as Orbea were out of stock (AND 3 TIMES THE PRICE). The keys didn't look worn and were identical to the originals. I replaced them anyway and it's a little better but still got a small amount of play at the top. Grrrr
This was super helpful. Thank you!
Great video! serviced my seatpost in 15 minutes. As goes for wear issue- my dropper came with 2020 occam hydro and after 3,5k km i have zero wear.
Great video again, just what i needed. Only problem now i need to put a new outer cable in and it wont go. The old outer was tough to remove, like if it was trapped inside.
Very good video!
Great video again, just what I needed. 👍 I just loosened the "top cap" and put new grease in and now it runs like new again. It appears that it is possible to do a full service without removing the dropper from the bike.🤔
Very good and useful, thanks!
Question; if I wanted to replace the cartridge, how do I take out the black plastic bottom, the part that has the threads? The new cartridge doesn’t come with that part, so I need to use the old part.
very useful thanks.
Hi dear,
You don't put grease on the sealed carbridge ?
Good video !
Best regards from france,
Jérôme
Any idea how much this seatpost weighs? I'm guessing it's extremely heavy? 650g+?
Presumably SDG manufacture these Orbea posts? They look almost identical
And one more thing - what is the saddle? Looks cool!
It's Fizik Taiga
Mine has 100 mm drop zone and 40 mm cush zone?! What is the cush zone, it only goes down and up by 10 cm but not more?! :-/
Have the same dropper seat post on my Orbea Occam. Same issue with the wear in the bottom of the seat post. Got a new tube through warranty claim.
Definitely an issue with the OC 2!
Hey, great video.
What if I extend the post manually (lift the bike by saddle) - will it get the air inside the cartridge? Will it mean the cartridge will work no more? And btw is it a generic cartridge which can be easily found somewhere in the online shop?
Cheers!
Hey, you shouldn't be able to extend the dropper post without pushing the lever. If you do, your cable might be little too tight. And the cartridges are different. There's the one for this particular dropper post: www.orbea.com/fi-en/gear/spare-parts/cat/oc-2-dropper-service-kit-a-150
@@MTBSuomi I am looking like crazy for this cartidge , do you have any idea where I can get it ?
@@mamunchik Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere either. Try to contact your local dealer.
Where can I get extra plastic shims? One of mine is damaged from a crash and now the seat post twists with light lateral pressure.
Orbea has service kits, including one with the 3 plastic rods...
@@cherowley Great. Got it. Thank you. Amazing that a slight shaving of one of the shims from a bang and the post is a mess.
Which worn part could be the root cause of strong frontward/backward play?
How does the dropper post disconnect from the cable?
Hi, just like with majority of dropper posts, you simply release the cable from the lever by unthreading the small bolt and then you slide the dropper post out of the frame and slide the cable out of the dropper post. Some dropper posts have it the other way, but not this one from Orbea.
@@MTBSuomi thanks
Plastic keys 😞
