I have been a big fan since "power of the night" came out but i have never seen Savatage. Closest i have been to Savatage is Circle to Circle and Testament.
the last Audio interview i listened to with Jhon Oliva from 2023 he was Talking about them entering the Studio in Jan on 2024, SO it's been a while I hope it comes out This coming year
Same here , can't remember what year but it was the early 80's at a club and they opened for Nugent. I've always been a fan and still listen to Power of the Night and Hall of the Mountain King albums. They're on my metal playlist , those two albums were metal masterpieces IMO!
I was lucky to see Savatage on the Hall of the Mountain King and Gutter Ballet tours. They were amazing!! Jon is a down to earth dude, sat down at the bar with him and was so cool. Savatage is soooooo underated and am glad they may now be seen as the true metal legends they are. I will travel to see them one last time.
I saw them on the Power of the Night tour at a club , they opened for Nugent and were killer. I've always thought Power and Hall were incredible albums from beginning to end and still listen to them. They're both on my Spotify playlist....
Same! Don’t know where you are but this was in Asbury Park NJ and some other places I forget the name of! Amazing to hang with such good natured guys back then. 😭❤️🔥
@@psault47 I saw them in CT at a place called the Agora Ballroom , it was a giant warehouse on a dead end street. Saw Motorhead , Stevie Ray Vaughan , Metallica etc there before they became big...
I am anxiously awaiting the US leg of the tour and any new material from Savatage and TSO... I'm sure it will be the best metal around in years!! Get well Jon.
Savatage always have been one of my favourite bands. Caught them on the Gutter Ballet tour. Nuclear Assault, Savatage and Testament. It was an amazing line-up and an amazing show. Criss absolutely stole the show. R.I.P. brother 🤘🏻🇬🇧🖤
Here is the thing... when we are all gone n dead . Savatage will still be around, just like Beethoven, and other great composers...it was a metal movement that will never die, Awesome music will never leave us...
Thank you, Vladyslav, for this interview. I am 47, Savatage is the metal band that lives in my heart and I never saw them live. Tickets purchased to Brazil and Chile, already. Can't wait to see them live and "raise the fist of the metal child" 🤘
Same age, same story. Except I live in Sweden. Still kicking myself for not seeing Savatage and TSO at Wacken, but hopefullty I'll make it to Graspop this summer.

My vote goes to Power of the Night and Hall of the Mountain King. Those albums are untouchable from beginning to end , the stuff after was too prog sounding for me. I'm more of a metal purist of the metal crunch style...
Bro I still get chills when that song comes on my Spotify playlist , amazing songs and John's screams were sick. His brother Chris had a great tone on those songs , especially the Power and Hall albums...
I remember seeing Jon Olivas Pain and Circle II Circle in Yonkers, NY. I turn my head at the bar and its Chris Caffery and Zak Stevens. It was a pleasure to meet them. So down to earth and great guys. That was a night I will not forget as a musician or fan.
I saw them in NJ for the Streets tour. I was right in front of Jon. At the end of the show I saw someone get onstage and shake Criss's hand. So I got on stage and shook Jon's hand and Criss's hand. That was finals week in college, and I was stress free for the whole week, and it was quite a story to tell. Meet and Greets didn't exist back then. I never forgot and I will never forget. Jon and Criss mean the world to me for doing that and I will forever love those guys. BTW - Chris Caffery showed up to play one song at that show.

Ive been a fan for decades. Such great news Pilgrim! So much good music before with so much good music to come! Thanks for getting them on the channel! 🤘🏻
I’m so damn excited!!! I love Savatage so, so much!!! This interview made my day and hearing that a tour is gonna happen is just the icing on the cake! God I hope they come close enough where I can go, hell I might drive a day or two just to be able to see them 😂😂
Great interview! Thank you for getting them to do this, they answered all the important questions. I would love to see them here in Brazil, but it is uncertain yet for me.
My dream is to see Savatage Live in Columbus Ohio. They are the band that i grew up on and is my foundation for metal. I have seen TSO live before they got big. They were amazing. The whole group were amazing and humble. Being able to talk with them and meet them was a blast. Savatage is always going to be Savatage. Jon, i hope you get well soon. I would love to meet you because your the only member i havent met yet. I hope you guys do a U.S. tour because i think it will surprise you how many fans you will have. Thank you for coming back out to play and i look forward to the new album. Savatage 4 Life🤘🤘🤘🤘
I've been waiting for a Savatage live for so long that I could not resist and booked 4 shows in Europe! Fingers crossed that everything will be fine and we can "meet" at these live concerts. And big hope that Jon could come out for any of them!
Be a fan since the late 80's and only had the chance to see them once, maybe 30 years ago. To know that they are back and that i have my ticket for Oberhausen is just mind-blowing. Those guys have accompanied me for over 30 years and i can't express in words what it's like for me too see them live again. They are and will ever be one of my alltime-faves. Guys...please, please take care of all of you because you're all not just great musicians or the phantastic band...you all are wonderful persons in life. So one of my dreams came true. Guys, THE SAVA-LEGION LOVES YOU!!!!
I have been a fan of Savatage since Gutter Ballet. The video for Hall of the Mountain King was filmed at Howes Caves which is less than a 30 minute drive from where I grew up and still live. These guys have been on my bucket list for a long time.
Wow,tugging my heartstrings,Savatage was a band that myself and my 2 late older brothers used air guitar to(HOTMK).I had lost 1 brother in 88 and another a few years ago. When I heard of Criss' Passing it broke my heart. Loved his playin, and for Jon to say hey guys let's do this, is Awesome. All these guys are incredible musicians and will forever be a part of the Savatage legend, this is epic🤘🙂
Been listening to Savatage since 90s - never seen them live, but if they happen to land in Europe I might have to arrange my schedule to finally check them out! Thank you for the interview!
this was a good interview! i can say with certainty ive not heard a musician publicly say they're excited about something as basic as seeing posters of their band name at a show ...maybe ever. no one can deny criss, zach & jeff are some of the most sincere & humble guys in the metal business. if anyone's deserving to be experienced a final time, its hands down savatage!
I called in to a college radio metal show in 1998 and got to speak to Al Pitrelli and Chris Caffery when Wake of Magellan first came out. They were very cool and gracious, but it was pretty spur of the moment, so I didn't get to tape it! 📼
All Savatage is great Savatage, I'm really looking forward to see and hear the shows. The songs are so great, that we must hear them being played live also in 2025. All the best for Jon! 💝
I was in tears when I saw the announcement about an album and tour.....I was aghast and without words when I read Europe and South America only....my heart actually felt broken. A US tour is probably not going to have the volume of fans as europe or SA but I would move heaven and earth plus find a baby sitter to go to see Savatage at least once. I was a huge fan but too young go clubs in the 80s/90s I would love a chance to go now and hear those songs live.
Being a huge Savatage and being from Florida, me and everyone here in Florida loves Savatage and can't wait to see them live again. Of course i want to se3e Jon Oliva on stage with them, but i'll take what i can get. Malevolent Creation!!!
Exactly grew up with Savatage being from Tampa and with the original Avatar lineup….Can’t wait all these guys are Savatage. Been waiting for this for years!!
I wish i was alive to see the original lineup in their Prime. RIP to those no longer with us (Criss and Paul). It's nice to see these guys keeping the name alive! I hope i get to see them in the states one day soon. Get well soon Jon! Be well everyone and DO peace!
I saw Savatage on the Mountain King tour with Dio and Megadeth. I then saw them again few years later in a small club on the Handful Of Rain tour. Both shows were awesome!🎸👑
Thanks everyone for the interview and all the best to you all, especially Jon! Hope to see you in Australia or Japan, and look forward to the new music!
I CAN'T WAIT. THIS is Savatage. I know Jon would be there if he could - but I've been wishing THIS lineup would return to stage and return to producing music since 2002. It's been a long wait - but I know these guys - and I know that they will deliver a great show, and a great album no matter what. Welcome back 'Tage!
I'm so glad they are back. I've seen many varied lineups. Last time I saw them Damon was singing and Jack Frost was on guitar. Wake Of Magellan was awesome too. It doesn't get enough recognition.
I have been a fan since 83. Blessed to have seen them twice, once in a small club close to Turnhout in Belgium. I was on the first row. Criss Oliva was the best guitarist, no one could riff like him! Long live the Savatage Legion!
Back in 1983 when I was 18 I moved to the big city and got a job managing a small Indie Record store/Head shop. I am a Metal head and was always looking for new bands. One day one of the record distributers stopped by and he gave me a promo copy of "Sirens". I have been a life long fan since and have seen them numerous times to small clubs in the beginning to arenas. I hope to see them on their 2025 tour.
Finally!! Criss Oliva's music and work should be kept alive. Even without Jon (hope he can contribute to recordings) this should happen. Saw them in 89' its been forever.
Many thanks for this interview. I only saw Savatage once during their final album tour. I am extremely eager to get a chance to see them again and for possibly new music. I sure hope they add some tour dates in the USA. I have seen TSO many, many times and it’s been so nice to see Savatage songs slowly creeping into those setlists.
Savatage always my favorite band. They saved my life with Streets. I just cant ever explain how important they are to me. I love seeing TSO live but yea I want to see Savatage out there again. I hope new album is a concept album cause They do those so well but either way Im excited!
I first discovered Savatage in 1990, from the song "24 Hours Ago" on a random sampler disc I picked up on a whim. The song blew me away, and I went right out and snapped up every album in Savatage's back catalog that I could find. And a year later, their magnum opus Streets dropped and moved me like very few albums ever have. Long live the Mountain King!
The early 90's is my sojourn with Savatage, and going back to the 80's to listen to all the albums. This is incredible news. I was happy with TSO, and enjoyed that immensely but it's time for a new generation to see Savatage and for the fans to get the chance to enjoy the shows again. Who knows, it could lead to another epic album.
Have you ever seen Savatage on stage? Would you like to see Savatage live in 2025?
Yes and yes.
I have been a big fan since "power of the night" came out but i have never seen Savatage. Closest i have been to Savatage is Circle to Circle and Testament.
I would love to see them. But, real Savatage. That means Jon Oliva performing, no TSO background or uniforms, no TSO members involved, no TSO songs.
Yes, yes, yes!!!❤❤❤❤❤
The mountain king still has its throne
just hearing the name savatage in 2024 makes me smile
the last Audio interview i listened to with Jhon Oliva from 2023 he was Talking about them entering the Studio
in Jan on 2024, SO it's been a while I hope it comes out This coming year
I'm blessed I got to see them live in 1987. RIP Criss Oliva

Welcome from Wake Of Magellan rules
I have been a fan since 83. Blessed to have seen them twice, once in a small club close to Turnhout in Belgium. I was on the first row. Criss Oliva was the best guitarist, no one could riff like him! Long live the Savatage Legion!
I lived in Tampa for years. Savatage was one of the great bands of the area back in the 80’s and early 90’s. Always fun seeing them.
Really cool to see them back, thanx for the interview!
still thinking about Criss Olivia and Jon and all - love Savatage
Savatage is one of my favorite bands. I’m hoping for another album
Very cool interview! I never thought I'd live to see the day where a new Savatage album is released, but now it seems like it will actually happen.
Belgrade, Serbia 2002, Savatage with Jeff Waters. Special times.
Finally!! Criss Oliva's music and work should be kept alive. Even without Jon (hope he can contribute to recordings) this should happen. Saw them in 89' its been forever.
Savatage and Megadeath and Dio,New Years Eve 1988 ? Nassau Colliseum. Awesome show .Savatage was insane. Im 54 now.Long Island NY Loves Savatage!
Love Savatage, glad to see this.
Great interview. It's definitely exciting!!
The World nees more Savatage!
Get well soon Jon! I wish I could go to both concerts in Brazil, but after what Zak said, im going for the headline! Cant wait!
Fan since 1985 and beyond psyched for a new album.
i’ve been seeing TSO since 2013. definitely love they did welcome to the show after 2020
I first discovered Savatage in 1990, from the song "24 Hours Ago" on a random sampler disc I picked up on a whim. The song blew me away, and I went right out and snapped up every album in Savatage's back catalog that I could find. And a year later, their magnum opus Streets dropped and moved me like very few albums ever have. Long live the Mountain King!
Savatage was a MASSIVE influence on me and the bands I was in.
ohhh hell yes would love to see Savatage on stage ..
Hey Vlad, love the Middle Earth Map in the back of you. More Tolkien Metal Videos please, you know a lot and it was so fun to listen
Man I’m just happy to see them touring I don’t care what they play. As a fan I just want to see them live in the US
The early 90's is my sojourn with Savatage, and going back to the 80's to listen to all the albums. This is incredible news. I was happy with TSO, and enjoyed that immensely but it's time for a new generation to see Savatage and for the fans to get the chance to enjoy the shows again. Who knows, it could lead to another epic album.
