I took lessons at the end of the season - not so good because a) the off-season wind was less predictable / gusty, and difficult when you're learning to control kite and b) it was many months before reliable wind came back. If you don't take lessons, you could endanger yourself and others. Also the instructors can help you figure out the best size kite and board.
This is great! Can't wait for more! Just took a lesson, and got some gear. It would be nice if there was an annual "This is the gear we recommend for beginners" when it comes to which model kite, board, etc...
Cheers! You just picked up our most popular beginner package. We did a similar video a while back with your exact kite and board. ua-cam.com/video/Xah8AedmI0M/v-deo.html - Rygo
Hi thanks for posting this ! I am a beginner with about 4 hours of lessons.....not moving forward yet but getting up once in a while....covid put the brakes on lessons but hopefully will start again soon. I am in Miami Fl. so summer is not prime time for kiting but good time to learn on stronger days....thanks again !!
You are welcome Guillermo, happy to help. Hope you are able to get some lessons this summer and it looks like Miami has been unseasonably windy. Cheers!
Nice video! Cheers! Hope you can cover what setting is needed, i.e. how much/little beach space is required to launch? Can you launch from water directly? Solo? I'm at a lake in Japan that doesn't have large beaches. Cheers!
Hey Snorre, I will get to that for sure. It's always tricky learning the self/water launch. I wont get to that for a little while since this is more beginner orientated. There is plenty of content out there explaining those things though in the meantime! An easy way to self launch is to attach a line with a clip or kite leash to a solid object and hook it to your chicken loop. Once you have it connected, walk the kite to the edge of the wind window and set it like you would for a regular launch. Hope that helps in the meantime!
great meeting you today!

Waiting for the next episodes is like waiting for good wind... it always takes too long !
Haha yes I totally agree, sorry to make you wait! :)
confused as to what video is lesson number two?
Sorry for any confusion, my friend. 🤙🏽 Did you get it figured out?
"The gear changes so much each year" hahahahahahahahhahaha
Haha! I was waiting for a comment on that one! Blake’s been teaching since the times when gear did change. I think he said that habitually. 😛 - Rygo
