Hearing to examine how the New York County District Attorney’s Office weaponized the criminal justice system in pursuit of its perceived political enemy, President Trump. House Judiciary GOP calls on appellate courts to 'reverse the verdict' in NY v. Trump in new staff report
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and one of the trial team prosecutors in former President Donald Trump's criminal hush money trial have agreed to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on July 12, the day after Trump's sentencing, according to Bragg's office.
Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio., requested testimony from Bragg and Matthew Colangelo - a member of Bragg's team who has drawn special ire from Trump - in May 31 letters that he posted on X (formerly Twitter). Jordan said the hearing will focus on the "weaponization" of the federal government, echoing an accusation Trump has leveled without evidence that the Biden administration - not Bragg as a New York state prosecutor - was behind the case.
The hearing could get testy, coming one day after Trump will learn his criminal sentence. Jordan and Bragg will finally come face-to-face on a televised national stage after more than a year of tension over Bragg's prosecution against Trump.

You're both wrong. The United States hasn't been a Republic since 1789 because of our second Constitution which is currently law. The United States is currently a Representative Democracy. Meaning the people elect whomever they want to represent their ideas and concerns ( THE PEOPLE/CITIZENS already have full power). A Republic, however, does do the same thing EXCEPT it doesn't allow a Monarch or a Dictator to control the peoples' decisions or this country. The Articles of Confederation was our first Constitution AND it was written by the Confederacy Party of the South when we were a Republic and it was put into place in 1777. It was no longer considered law of the land because of its lack of inclusion of all people residing in this country as Citizens (including Natives, enslaved, or formerly enslaved people)...which is what the Civil War was all about while uniting all the states through the act of Inclusion. If one wants Trump or anyone else to control everything and have exclusive Executive power, that person would have to declare themselves as a Dictator. And we have never been under a Dictatorship, nor have we ever allowed one to happen in his country.
The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government. That is, we have an indivisible union of 50 sovereign States. It is a democracy because people govern themselves. It is representative because people choose elected officials by free and secret ballot.

I am an American! I am not a white American I am not a black American, I am not a brown or Asian American, I am an American! None of you have the ability to speak the words that you think most Americans believe, think or fight for unless you can speak for most of us and none of you can! You have been given the responsibility to represent the people that elected you to that position, you are not a leader you are the representative of the people that offered to fulfill your obligations to your fellow citizens! Plea stop listening to what you think most Americans feel but do your job and represent the people that afforded you the opportunity to serve them. You should hold in honor the responsibility to share the voice of those that trusted you with that voice, you shared your voice with your constituents and they voted to allowed you the honor to represent them and their voices in a combined effort to make all of our lives better safer and freer to be Americans, the constitution that you hav sworn to defend and uphold does not provide us with rights it states clearly the rights we are born with that you are responsible to protect and defend. If you cannot stand in defend those rights for the people that granted you that privilege the you are a failure and a traitor to your responsibility and those that granted it to you! You do not lead, you follow the voice of the people! You do not tell me what to do I and other citizens tell you what to do! We, as individuals come together to give you our voice we do not elect you to take your voice and impose it on others. You are invited to enjoy the ability to serve not to lead but to serve and to represent those people who live with you in a community and it is your responsibility to here them and share that voice WTH the rest of us so WE can discuss it and work out together what is best under the best of possibilities and when things don’t work out we come together to try again. None of you know what is best for most or all Americans because we all have some different and some common ideas about what is right for WE THE PEOPLE. Not we the government! I beg you to try to remember that you have taken an oath to your people and it is your job to work with the other people to try to make this a better place to live, we all have faults but none of us especially you who have accepted the duty to serve have the implied or written authority to lead us down a path of self destruction!
