  • The third in a series of videos on how I made the props, puppets, and set for the play Firebringer! No, this is not the original Firebringer by Team Starkid. This was a version by an amazing cast in Metro Detroit and produced by RPG Entertainment in August 2023, at Planet Ant in Hamtramck, Michigan.
This video details how I Made the mechinisims for the All Mighty Duck, I also go over how I sculpted the head and adapted the body using a duck plush toy.

excellent demonstration of the iterative design process. I can have a vague idea in my head about how its gonna work, but unless i have a bodgeup of some kind to fiddle with, I never see the kinks.
And he turned out very cute, I think the hand sculpting was an excellent choice. I need to find out more about this play if THATS the All Mighty Duck. It sounds fantastic.
    Excellent video, worth a sub

I'm a lil ways in, so far a great vid. But you can also use vacuum or liquid pistons. (Syringes and tubes)
Side note, I've never seen such a small pair of electric scissors. Neat.
Another idea popped in, use spray foam to thicken up the certain areas. You can use the alum. wire to pre-shape the body parts before using the foam and/or to attach more parts.
    OK tangent over.
Here's a sub for your great thought process.
Good luck in all that you do.

    Hello, Jeff.
I'm from Brazil and I really admire your work. I have a small puppet show group at our church and their ideas are excellent. But how did you make the plastic duck head before adding clay? His mechanisms are incredible.
    My name is Marcelo.
    A big hug.

Thanks so much. I 3d modeled it in a program called Tinkercad. It's free and actually designed for kids. Access to a 3d printer may be the tricky part, though. Good luck.

Hmmmm 🤔. I have never shared any of my 3D models before and I'm honestly not sure what the best way to do that is. I will think about it though.
