    I couldn't figure the leg drive and no one really talks about it. I've been using all shoulders all this time. Thank you!

    You are one strong lady, Jennifer Thompson. You undoubtedly make your coach on the US National Classic Bench Press Team look pretty good. 😂 Keep up the great work. I got my college team watching you too.

    Hi, thank you for taking the time to do the videos, I always thought you should have your elbows tucked in, not flared out at 90 degrees as I was told its much easier to injure yourself like that.

      This is sort of an "old school" way of thinking. I believe it comes from equipped lifters. Because that is more of a technique applied there. Or if you are really large and person and the the rings impede your hand placement.

      Well I just did this yesterday. I got the set up done and everything seemed to work good. I did four sets of six reps. Unfortunately, I’m old and I am working outside and it was 108°F, but I got through it. I’ve been stuck for sometime lately and can’t seem increase my bench.

    You would know benching 315 that leg drive and pinching your shoulder blades together works for you very well... 💪👍

    I've started doing these pin presses and it's definitely helped with the top-end of my bench...the issue I'm seeing in my bench is that I don't think I'm getting the bar back over my shoulders early enough and so I don't think my lats/triceps are engaged as much as they are in a pin press (my bench lockout doesn't feel as powerful as when I'm locking out in the pin press). Any tips on improving my bar path? Specifically, how to get the bar back over my shoulders earlier/faster to engage my lats/triceps. I did see your video on making sure the bar doesn't hit too low on my chest...that's helped but somehow the bar still isn't getting back over my shoulders early enough. :/

    • @132poundsofpower
      @132poundsofpower  Рік тому +1

      It’s hard to help with this without seeing it. The lats should help with the bar off of your chest. The triceps are helping at the top. You might need to look at your elbow position…

    • @132poundsofpower
      @132poundsofpower  4 роки тому +1

      I believe ours are 18 inches. But it would depend on your rack and how far apart the ends are.

    My arms are already at 90-100 with the bar on my chest. Is this still useful or do I have to shorten the ROM more with pins as a % of my bench stroke?

    • @132poundsofpower
      @132poundsofpower  2 місяці тому

      @@snorlaxcom it really depends depends on where you fail at. You want to set the pins to that point

    What would u say about folks like mark bell that say your supposed to stay tight with legs through out whole lift? Are u suppose to relax on way down ?

    • @132poundsofpower
      @132poundsofpower  4 роки тому

      Everyone has their own way of doing things. Some things work well for some and not for others. You want you legs tight on the way day to help keep your chest up or in your arch. But then you really want to drive your legs at the bar when you push it off of your chest

    Ma'am, Can I just do the lockouts to gain strength and add some muscle mass without doing any concentric and eccentric movement?

    • @132poundsofpower
      @132poundsofpower  4 роки тому

      No, this helps a piece of the bench press. You need to do the full exercise as well
