  • Here is another video from one of our fossil hunts, make sure to stick around to the end of the video to see the special fossil at the end! This is an insight into the past, what life was like 180 Million Years Ago even before many of the most famous land-dwelling Dinosaurs ever existed.

*My friend, Be careful @ **4:30** your stepping real close to the edge of the cliff at same time stepping right over deep cracks. It may look sturdy but a crack is a crack. The ground on the cliff's edge is not stable. Peace* 🏝️

We live near beach cliff.. A good idea to first go around and look at the overhang and erosion underneath. My father taught me this when we visited the crags as a child.

I have found several Ichthyosaur ribs near the old ghost town of Berlin, in central Nevada. It is called the Berlin/Ichthyosaur State park. I found the ribs outside of the park. The fossils date back 220 million years. Black matrix. Great video.

I'm at the UK's other Jurassic hotspot i.e. west Dorset, though arthritic knees have curbed my fossil hunting. I always took a thumbstick which I'd use to prod at any part of a mud slump that might be dodgy. There's a site over in the eats, Barton, that has several wellies embedded in the mud! I smiled when you said people can't find everything because, about 10 years ago, I'd been out at Seatown, as loads of people had, was on my way back across mud that loads of people had tramped across - including me - when I saw the tip of the curve of an ammonite poking out of the mud. It turned out to be my first complete Lytoceras, 9" in diameter. Most was still in the matrix but still had some flanges in place when I cleaned it.
