When my Dad died, we had this as one of the songs to play during his funeral. To this day, i hear it randomly on indie radio stations and buskers on the streets and i know he's still around. A beautiful, perfect musical piece.

One year ago today I lost mine too. The first Fleetwood Mac album with the cat was one of his favourites. The music keeps our loved ones alive

I remember an old Gilmour interview back in the 90s, and one question was “What song from other artists you wish you had written yourself?”
To which he answered quite rapidly “Albatros from Peter Green, that song is perfection”

What ur listening to is Peter Green , thru David Gilmour ‘s rendition of that master who was originally inspired by the Deep South players before recording devices were even a dream..

That was absolutely an amazing tribute of this song. Love Peter Green's work and Gilmour was bloody fantastic as were the rest of the musicians. Brought tears to my eyes it was such a good job.

It amazes me how, with just a few notes, Gilmour makes it sound as if it were something from a late 60s-early 70s Pink Floyd album.

I loved this in 1968 when I was 7 years old. Still love it now. My main man, David Gilmour, doing the fills helps. Tears.

Mr Gilmore never ceases to play with so much class and talent. Such a musical treasure amongst so many jems.
My son (in his early forties) died in mid october, we played this during a photo tribute at his funeral.
Sorry for your loss, David. Something about hearing a song that somebody loved at their funeral that changes the way that you hear that song for the rest of your life. Hope you and your family are finding healing.

first time I heard this song was on Dee Time in 1969, although this is a good rendition there is still only 1 person who plays this song with true emotion aund that is the man who wrote it Peter Green, listen to his version with splinter group.
