I hate my job as a police officer and I listen to this every morning just before work and it helps. This past Friday I performed a traffic stop on a car making a turn where the sign so no turning. I asked for her licensed and it came back suspended. She started crying and I saw why, she had her new born baby in the back seat and she thought I was going to take her in, which I could have. I let her go, I could tell she was just getting off work, she was relieved and she probably was barely getting by and couldn't afford to pay her tickets. I handed her my business card and to contact me if she gets stopped in the area.

I wanted to comment this just to get it out of my head. I have recently moved to a whole new city. I think the adjustment has been bigger than I actually know. When I first got here I was very excited and filled with energy to be the person I know I am inside. My initial rush of excitement is now gone and I am left grasping for those feelings, wanting them to come back. I feel lonely, I feel scared, I feel like I have lost my power and my purpose.. or at least the vision of my purpose. I feel in a way defeated... For the past few days this video has been popping up on my recommended timeline and my Watch It Again feed, the universe has been sending me a reminder. So, after revisiting this video finally I have come to the conclusion that tomorrow morning - I am going to open my eyes and I am going to fight like hell. Just because I feel like this now does not mean I will always feel like this and I believe that it is IN these moments that we become who we truly are. I am scared.. But I am making a promise to the person reading this right now that I will keep fighting to *be the change I wish to see in the world*. Peace and love everybody

This is one of the most powerful things I have ever seen. I have loved Oh Wonder and this song a good long while, but this video concept and the diversity of wisdom it portrays illuminated so much depth in Josephine and Anthony's identity as artists and as humans. The effect of their music is, unfailingly, so much more profound than the mere lyrics they contain.

I could never address how much I appreciate this video. I was at my rock bottom in 2018 and I came across this,. It hit me the most when that lady said “you have to accept where you are to be able to move forward.” I remembered I sat in the dark and cried so hard, that was the moment I decided to let go and accept who I am, then my life has gotten so much better

I hit rock bottom in every aspect of my life recently too, it's hard to see the light some days but I guarantee that it gets easier. I was also in love with someone special to me.
I moved to San Diego and started over my life. I still struggled with depression. I felt the broad spectrum of emotions for the first time in my life.
It made me realise I was human.
This is incredible. Anthony and Josephine are more than just musicians, they're social change-makers too. They are the kindest people I have ever met, and so inspiring, causing me to think deeper in a time when so much is superficial.

The ones that have not the inconvenience of artistry, a vision, or a message. They know how powerful a spirit motivated by music is, and unfortunately, they're not seeking to motivate our spirit, or inspire our hearts. Rather, they prefer our spirit oppressed, our fears motivated and our wallets inspired.
Sometimes I feel so lost because I see every other person moving forward, and I thought for awhile that I was never going to move forward, but with songs like this, with art, and people that also like this type of stuff, and I feel less alone, I feel powerful in a way.
Sometimes things are scary, but I hold on to the things that give hope and love and it motivates me to move forward and continue my little adventure.
To anyone feeling stagnant at the moment, don't worry you are doing amazing, you aren't being stagnant, you are just going slowly and that is still amazing, and if things don't turn out the way you hoped, don't give up, you can do it.

I'm typing this, terrified of how far into the abyss of the comment section it will sink -- as if no one will ever read it, and these words and my effort to type them have been entirely for naught. Is that why I'm so hesitant to speak at all -- am I so anxious that my words will be drowned out that I feel I shouldn't even say them at all? Is it as if all my effort in this post will simply contribute to the clutter, and no one will ever hear what I have to say? Is it because there's some unspoken rule that because my words will scarcely be considered, then they must not be worth hardly anything? It's a horrifying, terrifying feeling of loneliness, a type of nihilism that clings to the back of my mind every day I stir from sleep, scratching away at the thin veil protecting my desires, my hopes, my aspirations.

EDIT (Jan 7th, 2021): UA-cam decided to remind me that I posted this after 2 years due to the most recent reply from Sky Blewize, so thank you Sky and the rest of you for the kind words -- I'm genuinely shocked this post got as many likes and replies as it did, and I think it is only fair I give a brief statement (if brevity is something I can muster) for any of you who may care to read it. Obviously at the time I initially wrote this post, I was in a very dark place, and though we may now live in an even more tumultuous and troubling time, I want to extend my deepest sympathy and encouragement to all of you. This moment in history is one of extraordinary confusion and anxiety, and I think it is fair to say that finding trust and compassion in one another is a capacity that we've nearly forgotten how to muster. That being said, in spite of the uncertainty that looms over us, we must find the courage to brave through it while never losing sight of how to faithfully love ourselves, and find the patience in our hearts, that when we must walk beside those who we have difficulty understanding, we would bear our crosses side by side as we struggle up this hill together. I have seen its precipice on the horizon, and I look forward to seeing you all there when the time comes, and present to each of you my open hand in respect and love for that, as a testament to our willpower, we have made it there. It makes life less scary to know that. Whenever I feel too lonely I picture my little 4 years old self and look myself in the eyes in a mirror, and I talk to that kid. I tell them my fears, my doubts, my hopes, my dreams. That I know that I'm not alone. That life's worth living, that people are worth fighting for. That this kid is worth it, that I am. That I know things will be better one day if I start now.

In fact, nobody knows...and nobody knows the real purpose of each one's existence.
Sometimes I wonder "what if I quit life and stop listening to the society and just do everything the heck I want?" What could happen more than ending up poor and unmiserable and not wanted by this society? Because it is already happening on a smaller scale!!! So..could I find myself, the true answers, could I possibly find out why am I on this planet, still breathing? And after all...what goes after death? Even more loneliness, I'm guessing..cause we are born alone and we die alone...

But I've watched this video more often than most the past 4 years since I've discovered it. I've posted it several times, and most of my friends probably don't take 8 minutes from their day to watch it. We're all too busy trying to catch up, keep up, or get ahead. That’s "All We Do". But there are few videos, be they written, spoken, sung - be they musical, spiritual, or motivational - that have the deep and profound wisdom as this, without coming off as preaching or rehearsed. So, thank you, Oh Wonder. You have created art that has affected many people, and each of us is capable of reaching at least 100 people in our lives, and in that sense, none of us are too far from 1,000,000 people. So, I hope we can enact that change, because..."uplifting somebody - that's what the human life is supposed to be about - uplifting somebody."

this reminds me of that time my dad was going through a heart surgery at 2 am and all i see is four white walls, two green couches and dim lights above me. Some nurses walking by as I try not to cry. Mum had finally been able to fall asleep after a month and a half of endless crying in the darkness. Dad survived. He killed the cancer. But God still chose to take him away.

This was my first Oh Wonder song, and I fell in love with it the moment I heard it. I heard it around two years ago. It was my fastest song search ever, and Sia is the only other artist for whose song I did that.
Their voices just make you feel calm.
The song is a simple one, but I find it really powerful, the way they talk about how we do not try new things, are afraid, when we should sometimes just "Lose It" ( even that song is beautiful )
Being human is about.... I feel first we should be ourselves. People change their opinions and ideas to go with the crowd, losing their voice somewhere in between, and often listen to negative comments from strangers, when they should be listening to only those who really love them and care about them.
Also, being there to help others without expecting something in return, or just being nice and kind, even a small and simple smile, makes a big difference.

This is my new Anthem. It pulled me from the darkness. I've read some of these comments and those too have lifted me from the place I've been in for almost two years. I think that being human, for me, has become one of those things like "The world is full of good human beings and if you can't find one then you better be one." If I can make just one person's day everyday, then I'll have done the job so many have asked of us. Not because they are telling us what to do but because it's the right thing to do. All we do is hide away from one another through fear of ridicule, violence, hate, and even love. We all hide from love so much and the most important person we hide love from is ourselves. I thank all of you who have shared, your stories and comments have gone somewhere; they helped someone. I offer you all Peace, Love, Respect, and Unity.
