John Deacon taught himself the keyboard to help him write his songs,and one video has a glimpse of him playing the drums plus on one recording he played acoustic guitar. Roger has another band of his own called the Cross. He plays drums, guitar and is the singer and put out some albums. Brian sings, plays piano organ, keyboard, ukelele, acustic guitar and electric guitar. Freddie is quite good on the guitar, I know his early teenage photo was with one, probably acustic, and of course piano, the electric guitar, tambourine, maracas and probably a lot more. So, all play guitar, at least 3 play piano or keyboard, 3 sing, all 4 have written #1 hits and are in the song writets hall of fame individually, and all are very versatile

Innuendo was such a great album made under such trying circumstances. Although Freddie was seriously ill by this point it didn’t stop him making such great music. This video was the last time Freddie would appear with his trademark mic. He always called himself mediocre on the piano..but both Brian and Roger say he was absolutely phenomenal on the piano and a joy to play with. Brian also said that Freddie was actually good on the guitar too. Freddie didn't seem to credit himself enough.
I saw Queen with Adam Lambert in Nashville, Tn. Brian and Roger are carrying on with Queen's legacy. Brian's hair is still super curly, but it's snow white. lol. They still rock out for a whole concert, holding nothing back! John Retired not long after Freddie passed away. John was just a teenager when he joined Queen and Freddie sort of took John under his wing. He felt like he didn't want to carry on without Freddie. Adding to what others said, Deaky also played double bass. Brian also played an instrument called a banjo-mandolin and12 string acoustic guitar. Once you learn a stringed instrument, it's easier to learn others. (I am learning bass guitar. Talk about some fun!) We can only pray Brian will tour again after having a heart attack this past year. Queen is always best served up live, but there are a few of their songs done best on official video. One being, Bohemian Rhapsody. Absolutely love your reactions!

The acoustic guitar on Tenement Funster was played by John Deacon. He is officially credited on the Deep Cuts album. Roger didn't play acoustic guitar on any Queen song as far as I know.

That being said they were not masterful at all of these instruments. John and Roger's keyboard playing is very basic. When it came to keyboard or piano it was usually Brian or Freddie, and Freddie was the best at piano he did classical piano until grade 5. Brian was reasonably good at piano, but not very good at bass, although he could play it. Brian was obviously best at the guitar he has his own unique style, with his own unique equipment. He build his own guitar, no one sounds like Brian May on guitar, you can identify him because of his sound alone. Roger was obviously the best at drums, he could play reasonably good guitar as well but mostly just rhythm guitar, his keyboard and bass playing was very basic. He basically played a lot of instruments to record full songs by himself. John Deacon was actually quite good at guitar, very good rhythm guitar player, he could play lead as well. In the studio you might often think it is Brian May playing, but sometimes it might really be John Deacon doing the rhythm guitar, his drumming and keyboard skills was more basic, but more advanced the Roger. But Freddie had his own unique sound on the piano, he sometimes played the piano like a drum. It is the same thing with the guitar, Freddie loved Jimi Hendrix so he taught himself to play the guitar. He only used downstrokes and no guitar picks, but he was actually better them most people realize, he could play a bit of rhythm and lead guitar. His drumming was very basic stuff. I believe John could play some piano as well as his bass guitar. All of them wrote hit songs for the group. Freddie had a degree in graphic art; Roger in biology and was to attend dental school. John's degree was in electronics. Brian later attained his doctorate degree in astrophysics (working with NASA on one of our projects). He is also into photography, inventing, writing books, writing songs and scores for movies, and many other things. A man of many, many talents! He is also an activist for animal rights; he also has a companies that manufacture guitars (like the one he built), and high end electronics for professional musicians, He is also currently producing records. And in his spare time ..........!

Brian was a beginner level piano player.
Freddie was beginner level guitar player.
Roger was pretty decent at guitar, way more skilled than Freddie.
freddie wrote the solo for bohemian rhapsody so idk if he knew how to play like that or he just knew the notes and chords but couldn’t play them

Yes, Freddie wrote the guitar solo for Bohemian Rhapsody on piano for Brian to play. Brian has said so in an interview/documentary. (Brian was younger and still had dark hair on the video where he says it)
