Just want to mention you can grow green onions and basil inside. Lettuce grows outside year round if you make a chererium. I plan on making a video about it.

Lead, I bought a 2 1/2 foot piece from the Ideal Market, it’s a Hispanic store, for $2.99. There are seven node lines. I cut it into 3 pieces, placed them in a damp paper towel and put them in a ziplock bag.

Hello Leadfarmer73 I've been watching 👀 u now for about 4 months. I've learned so much. I want to thank you for being so straightforward about what we need to do to survive in the coming days.
I have started a raised bed garden ( mustard & collard greens) and I've also started a few things in pot ( garlic ). Do you ship any of your items from your garden? Example sugar cane cutting, and anything small that is low cost shipping?
Oh by the way, a month ago I started a air layering of my lemon bush ( no roots yet ) but I'm hopeful.
I hope to hear from soon. Have a blessed day. I look forward to your next video.

So I have been reading a lot of posts on FB where our garden family are purchasing sugar cane thinking they are going to be able to just use it to as a sugar replacement right away. I do not believe they realize what goes into the process. I do not want to be discouraging but we must do the research. I was raised in Walterboro SC and we grow it there but it was only one person we knew in the city at the time with a grinder. So the sugar cane went to him and they processed it and then cooked it down for syrup.

I bought some from my local supermarket (1 whole stalk $3.49) brought it home cut it up placed it in water nothing happened or happening. I think they sprayed it with something so that it doesn't grow in the store. Still waiting. I'm not mad tho. It's a learning experience. Then I went to Etsy bought about five pounds wasn't expensive about $35. What I realized is that they cut all the eyes/nodes off. I think they don't want anyone growing it because it means less business for them. I could be wrong but I highly doubt that.

Hey Lead, I’m catching up on the sugarcane videos. I got my (1 node) sugarcane and I do thank ya! Glad I caught the video and the store was still stocked! When I took it out of the bag it had a slight “fermented” smell and was a little slippery feeling. I’ve transferred it to a container with water. The cane itself is still firm, not mushy, so I have confidence it’s gonna be ok, or recover. I’m just wondering if that faint smell and feeling is normal, or if I left it in the sealed shipping baggie too long? Thank you man. Your videos have been entertaining and informational during the past 9 months that have felt like a year. All the best to you and Lady Lead!
