Good video covering different eras/languages on 'Rock and Roll' musical genre. 'Baila'(portugal/Srilankan) is another musical genre that has been used extensively since 1950's in TFM. A.R.Rahman came up with a nice jazz based composition in kadhal virus(20002). The staccato phrasings and vigorous syncopation(Excellent drumming) veers towards R&R in certain phrases though it is predominantly a jazz based number. Heard this song after a really long time. It definitely has Jazz in it but it sounds more techno pop than RnR to me. The joy of RnR is missing in it. It's slightly dark for me.

@@TamilNostalgia agree , as I said it is definitely Jazz , but does not have the characteristic swing of R&R. This song is very under rated, though.
