@@tiedefender1459 no worries, I made the list while putting together a playlist of these songs. so I didnt really have any extra work. and thanks for uploading it, its a really nice compilation!
Never realized the night and day difference between the first and second game's soundtrack. One tells a story about exploring the galaxy and discovering its beauty, the other tells a story about the darker corners of the galaxy and the atrocities committed there.
Kotor I's soundtrack makes you feel like you're in a pleasant dream, but one that feels real even when you wake up. Kotor II by contrast, feels as if the Force itself is trying to tell you that something is wrong, and as if the Galaxy itself is in a state of sickness.
Man the KOTOR II soundtrack is so much darker (just like the game itself). I remember playing it as a kid and when Sion docked at Peragus and 6:14 started playing. I basically shat myself. Made sure to double check the closet that night just in case some maniacal bloodthirsty Sith Lord jumps out of it while I sleep. Today the music still sends shivers down my spine.
I'm listening through my music playlist and this just started playing. I've never had more tingles and shivers shoot through my body ever before. Legitimately. That Manaan music *NEVER* fails to slam me with emotion and memories and good feelings.
KotoR was my childhood...i remember buying that game, smelling the booklet, installing it and enjoying the pure emotions, soundtrack, mysterious storyline....it was awesome
A friend of mine brought KotOR to me when I was reading all the magazines and everything about upcoming episode III :3 The pure joy of watching (and hearing) the installation, the menu, then swinging vibroblades around, I can still feel it :D
This game Is very special for It to do this to many of Its players. You can feel the memories and the tingles and shivers when listening. Transporting you to a time where nothing mattered. Where imagination was everything. The music and energy of this game and Its story and characters…Is something to behold amongst all games…elder scrolls Is another
This music makes me feel...better. Safer. Something about the KOTOR music is just very reassuring. Star Wars is known for its quality music, but KOTOR in particular has excellent music. Listening to these themes make feel like I'm a part of Star Wars. It helps remove me from the pandemic, and the other stresses of the world. Thanks for uploading.
KotOR music feels 100% like Star Wars music but it's still very unique. It's part of the bigger saga but it has its own identity. I would even go as far and say that Jeremy Soule and Mark Griskey did a better job than John Williams himself did with the sequel trilogy.
Its because you played this when you were younger and associate the music with childhood and the feelings of safety you had then. I feel it too, amigo. I feel it too.
I was 10 years old when this game came out in 2003. I knew from the second I stepped out of the apartment that I was playing something special, and felt like a grownup dealing with so many mature things for my age. The music transports me back instantly, just closing my eyes I remember how I felt and what life was like back then when I first heard it. Kotor will be with me for the rest of my life and I couldn't be happier about that.
When I listen to this and think about my memories of these games and what it meant to me as a kid it feels faint but still profound. In a way it makes me feel like the exile hearing echoes in the force when visiting certain places, only that these places are represented through music. It's like coming back to a place you frequented as a kid, only you've changed and the world surrounding it has as well.
Every song in KOTOR has this lingering sense of dread and mystery that keeps you on edge the entire play through. Like something horrific could happen at any moment. The main character being in confusion about who he is, where he comes from, and where he fits in (for both games) is felt in every track.
This really makes you realize the night and day difference between the tones of each game. But I would like to point out one other thing. KOTOR 2 has a throughline with the music, it is recognisably from the same game, with KOTOR 1 I can't say the same, the soundtrack is all over the place
Tried listening to this to sleep. Reminded me of happier more naive times... now I can't sleep. Such beautiful music from games that really have stuck with me so deeply from my childhood
