95 Se Doo XP Water Leak / Tuned Pipe Repair Part 1

Repairing the tuned pipe on my 95 XP. The commonly leak at the casting plugs on the inside. Reinstalling with bolts cut off creating studs and reinstalling with stage 8 locking nuts.

I have a 95 so also. and I brought home after running it yesturday. and saw the hull had lots of water in it.after looking, one bolt broke and the other 3 laying in the hull. from the tune pipe. how do you get bolts ""in or out""with the pipe in the way??....do you keep cutting them down til they fit does it need a gasket or gasket maker gel? what do you use as a gasket for the end of the pipe that get the ring to hold it together? thanks I'm working on it now.

how did you get that bolt out? it's really hard to get in there

+Jason Ross Hi Jason. The only way I was able to get to it after extensions elbows and you name it I tired it. I found a stubby opened ended wrench was the only one that worked for me any way. I had to go through back and put the wrench on the bolt up front. So glad I went to studs. Just loosen with the wrench a few turns the spin it out by hand.

+jmfut ok I'll have to try the stubby wrench. I hope I can get enough leverage to pop it loose, those suckers are in there tight. thanks for the help.

I had the same problem with my spx 720 rotax
After multiple broken studs, an old jet ski mechanic told me it will keep breaking because of too much vibration from the rubber grommet on head pipe and the wear ring was worn causing more vibration.
I changed out the wear ring and the rubber grommet and no more problems for a year now.(knock on wood)
