So sorry to hear about the loss of Jennifer, thoughts are with her family and friends. Thankyou for sharing her beautiful stitching and yours. Sending lots of love xx
I always save a quiet time to watch your videos. You have so many wonderful things to show. What a special memory of your friend. See you in the next video.
Carol, what a sweet friend you are to all of us; your tribute to your friend was heartfelt even to those of us who never had the pleasure of knowing her. I have certainly missed seeing you these last few weeks and hope you have a wonderful summer of stitching! xoxo
🙏🏼for the family going thru a difficult time. Love all your purchases from your trip and glad you had some quality sister time. Thank you for sharing with the community!
Enjoyed my time with you and Mr. Saltbox…Carol… you are a classic! Beautiful stories, beautiful stitchings and a beautiful tribute to a wonderful friend… Blessing’s to you.
It just never fails to thrill me when I see that you have posted a video, Carol! It sounds like you had an amazing time with your sister and at Country Sampler. Love your finishes and seeing what you are working on and hope to work on! What a beautiful tribute to your friend. I am so sorry for you and all her friends and family. Thanks as always, Carol and happy stitching.
What a courageous young woman. May God rest her soul. Comfort for her family. Thank you for your video and sharing all of your lovely items. Look forward to seeing the completed flag quilt. I always enjoy your banter with your Hubby.
That was a great flosstube. Yes, so sad about Jennifer ❤ Glad to hear, (Professor ) Mr Saltbox is getting his own flosstube! Take care, happy 4th of July 🎆
You brought tears to my eyes when you said Jennifer won her battle with cancer. I loss my son to cancer almost 7 years ago and you reminded me to say he won the battle to cancer not lost it. Thank you ❤❤❤❤
What a lovely tribute. Sounds like an excellent retreat ❤. On the "morbid" topic of who goes first and the labeling of stitchy stuff- I bet you could set it up so that the pieces your family didn't want could be raffled or auctioned (say at Stitchcon) and the funds donated to a cause of your choice. As a stitching audience it would fetch top dollar.
Spring Green Summer stitiching is on my radar for next year. I've already told the husband that I'm going if I can get in. Mr Saltbox is so very helpful. I love that he takes care of you and your videos like he does. What a great guy.
Beautiful video! It was so nice to meet you and your sister ❤ And yes, Meg (Ginnie Thompson's daughter) and her husband Steve are running the Flower thread company - alongside their day jobs!! Loved al the beautiful treasures you shared today. I need more time!!!
Great to "visit" with you today. Enjoyed hearing about your adventures with your sister and the retreat. So glad you had a great time. I finally finished stitching Lady Liberty and FFO'd her last Friday. Started Happy Birthday America and hope to finish it soon. Such a nice tribute to your friend. Take care and Happy Stitching!
So glad you’re back and what a wonderful time you had. As always it’s such a joy to see your projects. Thank you for another fantastic flosstube video, please never stop 💐 ❤
So nice that you had a wonder trip. Lots of fun. I've wanted to go to the Woolen Needle...not that far away. It's hard to lose our friends...that enrich our lives. Just found d out a friend of 54 years has cancer. Hard. Going to Colour and Coitin Wed...always good to add to the stash!
So good to see you again,Congratulations to Camille, she is adorable, it sounds like you had an amazing time with your sister and at retreat, I like small stitching as well as large items. Thank you for sharing your Patriotic finish’s, I am looking forward to seeing your progress on your new starts, i have been stitching many of Birgits designs, love her designs. So many lovely items from the teachers, all your gifts from the other attendees are wonderful, stitchers are so generous. Love all your new stash, the fabric is my favorite of all your new stash, thank you for sharing your stitching with us, oh my gosh love the Patriotic quilt , so lovely. I agree she won she had suffered so much, pain free and in our Lords arms.
What a beautiful tribute to Jennifer. I’ve seen several photos of her and she looks like a lovely lady. I am so sorry. So glad the Country Sampler retreat went so well. Brenda on Brenda and Laura mentioned your scooting up next to the Lakeside fabric and diving for fabric. It was so cute! I could just picture the scene! LOL I love seeing your stitching. Thank you for your time and effort. I greatly appreciate you and the Prof! Happy stitching.❤
Blessings Carol as you think 🤔 of your friend who’s won her battle with cancer and praying for her family. I’ve loved hearing about your trip with your sister and seeing those wonderful boxes of stitching goodness. Lovely smalls and inspiring small progress on your samplers. As always love visiting, blessings and happy stitching.
Carol you make me LAUGH. I just hope you will live another one hundred years so that you can complete all your projects. I love your channel and missed you when you were away. Take care
I had to laugh when you were talking about being "fluffy". We say the same thing at our house-- and I think it started in about the same way. "Fluffy" girls unite! 😂❤
I have been watching for years and had no idea you are a fellow Cyclone!!🌪❤💛❤💛❤ makes me love you even more!! I graduated in 1986, was an AGD and LOVED ISU❤
So good to see you had a great trip and time with your sister - wonderful stitching as always - and tribute to your friend - until next time have a great time stitching
Carol, when you mentioned flower thread you made me think of a project I did many years ago, by request, for my sister. It was a twelve panel afghan that used every color of flower thread. They were starting to discontinue the thread and I had a hard time finding all the colors in the days before the internet. The last one was a 0:07 red that I searched and searched for. It turned out to be used only in the final panel for literally three stitches! Thanks for another enjoyable stitchy visit.
So happy to see you last night. I had so much to comment on I made myself wait… or you would have needed a table of contents 😂😂😂 I loved meeting you in person in Spring Green❤❤ tho I felt we were friends already. Flosstube is so weird. 😜 Your Red White and Bloom made me “Schoom” immediately . How did I not have this? That watering can!!! 😮 I have lots lots to say and thanks for a wonderful Flosstube. But after getting to the end ….. all I want to say is a heartfelt Thank You for all the inspiration and the chuckles and keeping me company as I stitch, and make sure you know how much you mean to so many people out here. ❤ that’s all that really matters isn’t it?
Very sweet friend tribute! Very special! I am a Hawkeye and I love Cyclone fans - I knew I felt a connection to you and Mr. Saltbox (with your stitching and quilting)! So glad you got to take your recent road trip with your sister! Sister are a sure treasure! How fun!!!!!! Love all your videos! Thank you!
Good video! I met Jennifer at Midwest retreat where I met you. She was a lovely person. And a great stitcher. RIP Jennifer! Love the video! Brenda Gervais has become one of my favorite designers. I did all the Brenda Gervais pieces you showed that you finished. I had Faye Riggsbee finish 1776 and the basket one I framed. The rest I finished. Your retreat pieces are so nice. Love your quilts that you are working on.
Hello Carol…always a fun visit with you Carol, thank you for sharing all your beautiful pieces with us. So glad you and your sister had a fun time. Prayers for Jennifer’s family. So sorry. (P. S. I’m “fluffy” too!)
Haha. It’s fine! It has your signature so it’s not really plain. I love the project and all of the goodies so that’s what’s important!!! So nice to meet you!!! ❤️
Oh Carol, how I love your floss tubes, always, really always. I love your work but most of all I love the way you present it al, the person Carol makes it so much fun to watch. Thank you for that! Greetings from the Netherlands! And that coverpiece you were talking about, the ones from Brenda Gervais, they were used in the old days to cover towels to dry your hands and mainly to dry plates, cups and saucers and all that. Used in the Netherlands and I believe also in Belgium and Germany, I've seen them with one of my grandmothers. But I've never heard they were used to hang in doors, they weren't that long also.
Fab video as always 😊 I finished the Star a Day quilt a couple of yrs ago, spoiler alert ,I didn’t make it in the yr 🙄😂 It was a great travel piece I put a stars worth of pieces in a hard glasses case with needle and scissors anytime we went out.
Carol, first my heartfelt sympathies to all regarding the loss of your dear and beautiful friend. May she rest in eternal peace. Now for some fun: a great video! So happy you are back from your adventures! I laughed because Brenda from Brenda and the Serial Starter was telling us on their Floss Tube how fun it was getting that much loved Lakeside Linens! It's fun being short! I am too! Your projects are so beautiful! It's always inspiring to watch your videos and they bring me such happiness. My husband is happy such simple pleasures bring me so much joy! I have been quilting a bit in the late mornings and then I switch to cross stitch. It's the only way to get these "oh so many" projects done. Nonetheless, boredom is not in our vocabulary! Can't wait for your next video! Enjoy your stitching and quilting! Oh... Carol, do you use a hoop or stitch in hand? Just wondering. Thank you for making me happier than I already am😃💕✂️✂️✂️
Oh Carol - how precious that you have the fabulous WTNT Santa pillow made by your friend to keep and treasure forever! Wonderful to see all your gorgeous kits from Spring Green and all the finishes - happy stitching!!
Thank you for another visit with you. As always, your work is amazing. Saying a prayer for your friend, Jennifer, and fortunate to have one of her cross stitch projects. It brings sweet memories when we see a finished project a friend makes.
Hi Carol & congrats Mr Saltbox for starting your own channel…I am subscribed 😊. My husband will love it too! I’m so glad you had a good time with your sister at the retreat. Prayers for Jennifers family and young children especially!
Hi Carol! It is always great to watch you and see your beautiful stitching! You have done so many patriotic cute things! Your trip to see your sister, and the Country Sampler retreat sounds so wonderful! I would love to attend one of their retreats someday! What great designers and projects you received! Your tribute to Jennifer was so beautiful. Such a loss for her family and for the stitching community as well.
I was anxiously awaiting your return 🥰. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful WIPs and haul! I am glad you and your sister had a lot of fun at the retreat! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend Jennifer. Prayers sent to her friends and family.
I wear the magni clips that were given to your sister. I have purchased three pairs off Amazon and one pair from a cross stitch store. They come in several magnifications. I have different ones depending on the count I am using. I too have a long arm that is all me no statler stitcher. I use a saddle stool on wheels. Works miracles as I can go back and forth while quilting. I use an APQS longarm. Love your finishes. I try to start fall stitching in August as well. Glad you had a great time with your family.
So nice to catch up and hear about your adventure and see your inspirational stitching! A sweet and touching tribute to your friend-friendships are a blessing in life.❤️ On a lighter note, I to, am horizontally challenged and a bit fluffy! 😉🤭🤣 Subscribed to Mr. Saltbox’s channel-so will my husband. (He just doesn’t know it yet😆) He is getting into woodworking as he is almost ready to retire. He wants to make me some frames for my stitching!
I always look forward to all of your videos and all that you show and have to talk about! I am sorry for you and for the friends of your friend who has died. Far too young. I hope that her family are finding comfort.
Thanks for sharing all your haul! It was great. I just live 2 hours away from Spring Green, WI, and 1.5 hour from the Woolen Needle. My girlfriend and had took a day and went to Woolen Needle in Williamsburg about 2 months ago.
Beautiful memorial to Jennifer. Yes cancer did not win she is no longer in pain. My brother who was 53 died last December after fighting with cancer for 2 years, he left behind 3 children ages 11, 12, 13. I have vowed that I will talk about my brother so he is remembered. My grand father died before any of his grandchildren were born. My mom nor my aunt could talk about him without crying, now we know very little about him.
I loved the visiti with you. Your trip and visit with your family sound wonderful. Thanks for sharing the kits given at Country Sampler and talking about the presentations there. I was deeply touched by the ending of this flosstube. Thank you for that sweet note, Carol. Carol in Texas
Thank you again for another wonderful video. I love the recap of your retreat at Country Sampler. Wonderful that you got to spend time with your sister.
It sounds like you and your sister had a great time together. The teachers at your retreat sure had beautiful projects for you to stitch. Love the patriotic patterns! As a Veteran, I like to display patriotic year-round. But, I don't stitch it year-round. Right now, I'm working on an Easter project lol. Thank you for a wonderful video. ❤
Thank you for sharing your wonderful travels. The Country Sampler Retreat must be an amazing experience. I look forward to seeing some progress on the beautiful samplers that you showed. The tribute to Jennifer was lovely. I’m sure she is missed be many, not only family but many in the stitching community. ❤
So good to see you Carol & always love yr Flosstube videos. Enjoyed hearing about yr travels & retreat with yr sister. Wish I would have known you were gonna be in Amana-I would have driven to just say ‘hi’ & give you a hug! Love all yr stitching-yr amazing stitching on 4O count - I’m just too old to be able to see that. Best wishes to Mr Saltbox & his UA-cam - look forward to seeing it! Take care & stitch on! 😁
So enjoyed your video and all your beautiful pieces. Absolutely love the flag quilt you are making. Can’t wait to see it finished. Happy you have you back! Love your videos so much ❤❤❤
My husband and I just moved back to the Midwest from South Carolina after having lived there for a little over six years. Now I’m less than an hour from my sister’s home, so we’re making all kinds of plans for “sister days.” It was so fun hearing about your sister days and the retreat! So many beautiful things. I would have needed more $ too! That was a lovely tribute to your friend, and what a blessing for you to have one of her stitched pieces. 💝 Thank you, once again, for keeping me company while I did some stitching. God bless you and Mr. Saltbox. See you next time!
I'm going to have to plan my next visit home for an Iowa retreat. I love the Amana colonies and grew up in Cedar Rapids, but I never knew the stitching scene in the area! I didn't really dive into cross stitch until I'd moved to Cincinnati. But now I'm doing some research! Maybe I'll see you at one, hahaha! I love seeing everything you've stitched; your back wall is always so fun to see every video. Happy stitching!
Carol - Welcome back! So happy to see when you posted a new video to share your trip and all the goodies you were able to bring home. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with family, shopping and the retreat. Also, CONGRATS to Mr. Saltbox on his new channel. May I ask a favor - you mentioned the magnification glasses your sister was so graciously given. Can you please tell me a brand if what I could look for or if there is a shop that has them for sale? I think this would help me tremendously. I currently work on 32 ct but would love to work on 40 ct. Lastly what a beautiful tribute to your friend and fellow stitcher. It is wonderful to hear you say how much you treasure her piece of work that you have, we should all be so lucky. PS Love all your new charts! Pamela A/PA
Carol, I'm glad you had so much fun during your recent adventures. Thank you for sharing the fun charts, etc. you got during your trip. You are fortunate your sister shares your interest in cross stitching and participated in the retreat with you. I have seven sisters. NOT one of them shares any of my creative interests in stitching (cross stitching and needlepoint), quilting, sewing, or any of my other artistic endeavors and they never have. Nonetheless, I persevere on my own path. :-D Being the oldest of 12 children may have contributed to my independence. Plus, watching my mother sew got me interested in sewing when I was 10 years old. I am lucky I wanted to imitate her sewing skills. All my other creative endeavors developed spontaneously. [BTW, I'm looking forward to watching Mike's Website.]
You always show the most beautiful stitched patterns. BT W another patriotic holiday is Patriot's Day in April. I'm in Massachusetts but I believe it's also celebrated in Florida.
Happy you are back and happy that you had a great trip. Beautiful finishes and I loved seeing your WIP's and haul. Can't wait to see your flag quilt and your Fall projects. It's been really hot here so I'm looking forward to starting a Fall project soon. Have a great week and happy stitching and sewing!
Love seeing your finishes & WIPS. Wonderful that you can share your passion with your sister. Great haul from your trip. You certainly will have plenty of stitching to do! TFS.
Welcome back Carol. Wow, live on Little is a big piece. It will be beautiful when done. I also like Little Moon. Are the flowers poppies? I also have done the red, white and bloom. I ordered that when you showed it on a previous video. They have yet to be fully finished. Crossing my fingers to do that when I return home. I have been working on a piece called strawberry salt box, a small chart by Pinker and Punkin Quilting. Keep on keeping busy. My aim one day is to own a wall hanging quilt done by you. Thanks for the video.
So sorry to hear about the stitcher who stitched that WTN&T piece. It's a favorite video of mine when you showed it. You could hear the appreciation in your voice for the workmanship of the pillow. Who would've known that it would take on a new meaning. She was so young; my mother died from cancer also when she was just 49. So happy to see a new video from you and a long one to bat!
Miss Carol it's so good to see you, thank you for sharing all your stitchy goodness and I love all your sampler stitches The smalls are inspiring too ❤
Go Cyclones!! My husband graduated from ISU in 1971 with a civil engineering degree. We lived in Ames for a number of years. Thank you for sharing with us.
I graduated from Iowa State in ‘74 with a degree in Textiles and Clothing Merchandising from the Home Ec college which I believe they’ve renamed to Family something.
How excited I was to see you post! Got interrupted 3/4 of the way thru & just finished. Great one as always! Thanks for sharing about your trip & the retreat! Sounded like so much fun! Thanks too for sharing about your friend.
We love going to the Florida Theater - it’s beautiful! We haven’t been there since before they closed temporarily to replace the curtains, and I can’t wait to go again. They look wonderful in your photos. And congratulations to your granddaughter. I’m recently back to stitching after many years away, and thusfar I’m tentatively dipping one toe in slowly, not wanting to jump in the deep end and scare myself. I have several projects planned, and two fairly simple WIPs going. I’m enjoying your Flosstube channel enormously.
Just love your videos and was so excited when I was at work and saw that you had a new one. I couldn't wait to get off and watch it!! Beautiful tribute to your friend. ❤
Great flosstube. Your trip sounds incredible. Your shares are so inspiring. It's always a joy spending time with you.

Hi Carol & congrats Mr Saltbox for starting your own channel…I am subscribed 😊. My husband will love it too! I’m so glad you had a good time with your sister at the retreat. Prayers for Jennifers family and young children especially!
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Great video.
What wonderful goodies you received at the CS retreat.
It sounds like a great time with friends.
Prayers for Jennifer's family.
Marilyn
Thank you so much!
I was anxiously awaiting your return 🥰. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful WIPs and haul! I am glad you and your sister had a lot of fun at the retreat! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend Jennifer. Prayers sent to her friends and family.
Thanks so much!
Carol you are such a treasure and so very special! Thank you for all you share and all we learn from you! Hugs, Rene
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much. I have a Gammil with a regulated stitch but it’s not a Statler with the programmed patterns. I love it!
My APQS has the stitch regulator as well. I too love my long arm.
Btw I have purchased 6 samplers now. Can't wait to do them. 😊
Bonjour Carole
Juste a little word in french for your national Fest
Je vous souhaite une bonne fête à vous et votre famille
Another wonderful video, thank you for sharing. I love all the patriotic. Glad you had such a wonderful time at the retreat
Thank you so much!
I'm so sorry for your loss. 😢😢😢
Thank you so much!
So glad to see you and all of your beautiful projects. Enjoyed. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much!
So fun!!!
Absolutely! I’m frequently telling my children and grandchildren about my parents that passed before they were born!! ❤️
So glad you had such a wonderful trip, Carol! Hope you get some rest and good stitching in soon.
Thank you so much!
I loved the visiti with you. Your trip and visit with your family sound wonderful. Thanks for sharing the kits given at Country Sampler and talking about the presentations there. I was deeply touched by the ending of this flosstube. Thank you for that sweet note, Carol. Carol in Texas
Thank you so much!
Wonderful flosstube. So sorry about your friend. ❤
Thank you! 😊
Thank you again for another wonderful video. I love the recap of your retreat at Country Sampler. Wonderful that you got to spend time with your sister.
Thank you so much!
As always, a wonderful flosstube. Love Mr. Saltbox. What a sweet tribute to your friend and how special to have something stitched by her. 💕
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the catch up Carol. Sending condolences to all the stitchy friends of Jennifer.
Thank you!
Thank you for your service!!!❤️
Aww so sweet! Thanks so much!!
So enjoyed your video and all your beautiful pieces. Absolutely love the flag quilt you are making. Can’t wait to see it finished. Happy you have you back! Love your videos so much ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!!!
Enjoyed every minute of this. Thanks for continuing to share with us. Yes the ending was a 💔. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 for her family.
Thanks so much!
Wonderful episode. So good to see you back again. I send my condolences on the loss of your friend
Thank you!
What a lovely time away with your sister 🥰 Ohmygoodness!!!! My maiden name is Tooley!!!!!! I was so excited when you showed that, wow.
Oh wow! That’s so cool. You’ll need to stitch it when it gets released.
It was wonderful to see you at Country Sampler. Beautiful tribute 💔❤️🙏
Thank you so much!
Pamela A/PA
Thanks so much. I think those are called clip and flip magnifier glasses. I’m sure there are various brands.
Welcome back! You were so missed.😊
Thank you!! 😊
Being the oldest of 12 children may have contributed to my independence. Plus, watching my mother sew got me interested in sewing when I was 10 years old. I am lucky I wanted to imitate her sewing skills. All my other creative endeavors developed spontaneously. [BTW, I'm looking forward to watching Mike's Website.]
I am fortunate that my sister stitches although she’s much more well rounded in her interests and is not as stitchy crazy as me.
Thank you so much!
Always great watching your flosstube.
Thank you! 😊
Love seeing your finishes & WIPS. Wonderful that you can share your passion with your sister. Great haul from your trip. You certainly will have plenty of stitching to do! TFS.
Thank you so much!
So beautiful Carol. Beautiful tribute. 🌷🌺❤️💕
Thank you so much!
Wonderful video to encourage me as I was stitching. I could visit with you and Mr Saltbox all day. Happy stitching!
Wonderful! Thank you!
I’m also working on Jenny Bean for the Parlor. I’m half way through the second part-love it!
I’m hoping to get back to it soon!!!
Aww thanks so much. I might be having another quilt sale later in the year. 😁
So sorry for the loss of someone so special to you.
We live all of life together and sharing sure helps. Glad you had sister fun - hugs
Yes! Thank you!
Carol thank you for sharing all your wonderful projects & memories. Beautiful sentiment for your friend & very true.Have a great week.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful video, as always! ❤. Love the idea of a star a day!
Me too!!! I just need to start them!!!
Great video Carol. Wish I had been at Quilters Station when you were. Would have loved to say hey
Maybe one day!
So sorry to hear about your friend Jennifer, may she rest in peace.
Miss Carol it's so good to see you, thank you for sharing all your stitchy goodness and I love all your sampler stitches
The smalls are inspiring too ❤
Thank you so much!
Oh thanks so much!!!
Just love your videos and was so excited when I was at work and saw that you had a new one. I couldn't wait to get off and watch it!! Beautiful tribute to your friend. ❤
Yay! Thank you!
