That tip about getting discounted tickets from those other sites was great. I didn't even think about it and saved $40 more then the bulk deal at the universal site.
Thank you for making this helpful video. I’m taking my 3 kids this Christmas to Harry Potter world. You just saved us a lot of money and time. Very grateful 🙏😊
In tip #3, do the tickets need to be purchased directly from Universal to be upgradable to an annual pass? I was hoping to purchase the tickets through the chase travel portal and then upgrade those. Do you know if that is possible?
To my knowledge, you would need to purchase the tickets through UniversalOrlando.com or at the Universal Orlando Resort ticket window to be able to upgrade.
To get access to the American Express Lounge in Universal Studios Florida you have to buy a Universal Multi-Park Ticket or Annual Pass with an American Express Card.
It really depends on how many days you plan on visiting. If you are visiting only one or two days it might not be worth it. In your case, since you are planing on visiting in July, then it might make a lot of sense to get an annual pass for at least one of the people in your travel party (you only need one to take advantage of the discounts). July will have some of the highest crowd levels and that express pass will really come in handy. Staying onsite at one of the three deluxe resorts to get a free express pass is the way to go, especially since you'll get an express pass for everyone staying in the room with you for entirety of your stay (+checkout day). It is a much better deal than buying the express passes separately for each park day, for each person. So staying onsite makes a lot of sense. Now since the room rates are pretty expensive at these deluxe resorts, than an annual pass might be worth getting depending on the discount offered at the time of travel. Personally, I would book a room at one of Universal's deluxe resorts and then wait to see what APH discounts are released. Then I would calculate if it is worth getting an AP or not. Don't forget the annual pass will also give you food/beverage and merchandise discounts so you'll save even more there. Anyway, the short answer to your question is yes, but I would need more info on your travel plans to give you a definite answer. Hope that helps.
I don't think so. You would have to upgrade the 5 day base ticket to a 5 day park to park if I am not mistaken. I would call Universal just to be sure.
I have a question if I buy one in your past and stay at one of the preferred hotels, do I automatically get the fastpass for my ticket as well once I booked the? Or is that something I have to add when I do the annual pass??? TIA
Yes, if you stay at either the Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel or Portofino Bay, you will get a complimentary Express Pass for each member staying in the room (so if your a group of 4 people staying in one room, each person will get an EP). Now if you want to benefit from the Annual Pass Holder (APH) Discounts on those hotels, you only need to purchase one annual pass to get the discount applied to your room. But make sure that they are offering a APH discount at the time of your travel. Usually Universal only releases their APH discounts 3-6 months ahead of time. You can check on their website: www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/tickets-packages/annual-passes/your-annual-pass#hotels-and-packages or call Universal to see if they've released the discounts yet. Hope that helps. Don"t be shy if you have any other questions.
@@AlexgoesCoconuts thank you so much I called them earlier today and they haven't releasedany for that time so she said check back next month and hopes that they release something for me
@@AlexgoesCoconuts I found all of your info to be very very helpful this is our first time going to universal so I really want to make sure I get the best... My husband is a firm believer in doing the Express pass and getting an early so that's why we've chosen to stay on the resort plus it looks like it's a lot more perks of doing that
@@carolinabreed7373 My husband has the same philosophy. LOL But seriously, I can confirm that it's a really good decision! The Express Pass is so worth it and the hotels are really beautiful and really worth every penny. Plus when you stay onsite you can pool hop and visit any pool at any of the Universal hotels which is really fun. Another great benefit is that you can walk to your hotel or take the water transportation. It makes getting to and from the park a breeze. Really, you can't go wrong! Just keep checking for those discounts! I am leaving for Universal in two weeks and Universal only released their APH discounts a month ago so don't get discouraged. You're going to love it, have a wonder trip!
Really?! Just one Butterbeer cost $7.50 (with tax) We are a family of four, if we each order a Butterbeer, it comes out to $30 USD. Plus since we're Canadian we have to contend with the exchange rate. That comes out to $40 CAD for us just to enjoy a specialty drink. However, I will say that Universal food is still cheeper than DIsney. I will give you that! ;)
@@AlexgoesCoconuts I live in a little island so going on a vacation we also have to deal with an exchange rate..however it's I would say a little bit worse.. Most of the time we try to bring our own food because for us 1 butter beer is like $50 dollars! We're also vegetarian so that makes it a little bit harder 😅
Yes there are quite a lot of block out dates for the seasonal pass but it has always worked out with my travel dates. There are four tiers of AP so you can choose the one that better suits your needs. We live far away so can only travel to universal once or twice a year. So the seasonal pass makes sense for us, but you can look at the power pass for lower block out dates and the preferred pass for no block out dates. Don’t forget you only need one pass to benefit from the room discount.

Alex puts the best "g" in sandwich I've ever heard.
Lol! It's an Italian thing - I have no idea how the 'g' gets in there but there's no feasible way to remove it.
😂 I do, don’t I!
It’s true about the Italian thing...my whole family says it like that!

I would think so
For the amex lounge, do the park tickets have to be purchased with an AMEX card or do you just have to show the AmEx card to get into the lounge?
To get access to the American Express Lounge in Universal Studios Florida you have to buy a Universal Multi-Park Ticket or Annual Pass with an American Express Card.
Hi. If I use a prepaid American Express would that work? Thanks for your tips ☺️
Hmm! That is a good question!? Maybe call Universal to get the answer to that one. Thanks for watching 😉
Is the annual pass worth it for the hotel discount and express passes alone? We can only go in July.
It really depends on how many days you plan on visiting. If you are visiting only one or two days it might not be worth it.
