BRIBIE ISLAND BREAKS IN TWO 2022 - NEW SOUTH BAR Breakthrough: 4K

Bribie Island breaks in two 2022, breakthrough update, forming a new Caloundra bar! Results from ex-tropical cyclone Seth paired with King Tides, sending large swells that battered the northern Bribie tip, breaking it into two. Watch how awesome and powerful nature is at remodeling the coastline.
This new "Southern Bar" as it has been labeled at the moment, is constantly changing with every tide and is now over 400m wide at high tide.
Many watercraft have been swept out from pumicestone passage through the channel, requiring rescues from local coast guard, lifesavers, rescue helicopter, and even by good samaritans. Thankyou to all that have rescued people and vessels, however, please be water safe. Don't underestimate this new Bribie bar (or any tidal bar for that matter). The images in the video show just how fast and far the water is travelling. Just a day after this was filmed a family with young children were very lucky to be rescued.

We drove down the 4x4 ocean beach track to the last bunker, then walked a few km's to the new south bar.

Thanks for watching, I remember wishing this as a kid with Moreton Island sheltering Brissy too😅.... but as I got older I appreciate each island now... they really are their own piece of paradise. We are so lucky in south east queensland. surf beaches are much more crowded now tho 😉 🤙🇦🇺🏖
