    You by far offer the most help and easy to understand explanations that I’ve seen on UA-cam

    Oh man adding that Reverb to simulate a crossfade is brilliant!

    We have a very basic set this week, we’re not running any Multitracks and we have a smaller band so I was trying to find an easier way to manage Ableton. This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.

    Very helpful, thanks. Another option I like for triggering the pads is a Novation Launchpad (or similar product). You can get the basic model for less than $100, or pay more for more features. Or use a Novation Launchkey to get an actual keyboard along with the launchpad triggers.

    Thank you so much. Is there a way to use these pads as midi and actually play the sound on a midi controller?

    How do you route tracks(to the front of house) and clicks to the in ear?

  • @REDphoenix374
    @REDphoenix374 5 років тому +1

    Super helpful video, but only thing is my click is not aligning automatically when I type in the beats per minute like you said. Do I need to activate something before this? And how do I route the click to a different channel that the one the pads are in?

    • @REDphoenix374
      @REDphoenix374 5 років тому +1

      UPDATE: make sure you click the play button on the RIGHT side, not next to the pad itself on the left. Totally worked itself out lol. Thanks again for the great info!

    Hey Jake, great video! I'm so close to giving this a test run. I ran into a problem though, trying to split the click and the pads. When I go into preferences to set the audio output device, I only have two choices, "Speakers/headphones (Realtek Definition Audio) DX" and "Speakers/headphones (Realtek Hi Wave." After setting cue to 1 and a Master out to 2 I still get both in each ear of my headphones. Thoughts??? Thanks.

    Olá amigo, minha dúvida cruel até o momento é como eu faço para usar os clips para disparar pads contínuos. Já tentei de diversas maneiras deixar as minhas amostras com loop mas sem sucesso, mesmo sento midi notes ainda sim não consigo deixá-las dessa maneira. Teria um tutorial específico para nós que temos este problema? Muito obrigado desde já, o conteúdo do seu canal é maravilhoso!

    Very helpful, Jake! The reverb on the pads to deal with transitions was amazing. I think my transitions are still a little rough though, do you have any suggestions on how to make the fade in and outs even better with the pads? The key changes still feel a little abrupt.

      @timothywiggins3776 Did you ever find a solution? I'm wondering the same thing!

    Jake, do you have a method of doing this with Abelton Tracks? I trigger all the tracks and pads on a laptop while I'm on drums. I assign the songs and pads to the numbers on the keyboard. So I'll have (1-4 key) multitrack songs and then (5-8 key) as the pads. I set the pads on a gate and just manually key the pads between songs and I take the stops off the audio tracks so I can have the pad play over the intro a bit for a smoother transition. Just wondering if you had a better process (the method I'm using gets the job done) or maybe this will be your next video haha?

      When I run full tracks, I setup everything in arrangement view like this: ua-cam.com/video/FAlcBBFNC5Y/v-deo.html . The video shown here is the extent of how much I use session view (very rarely). So you might have it setup the best way for your situation!

    Can you loop pads in session view? To have “spontaneous moments”?

    Not sure if anyone can help but I’m having an issue. The pads sounds great but when I add in the BPM say for a faster or slower song it’s warbling/mudding up my pad. Is there a way to allow the click to not effect the pad?

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  5 років тому

      Make sure you have the pad file warped and in "complex pro" mode (in the bottom left corner after clicking on the pad track). That should fix any warbling/muddling issues

    Is there a way to just change one song to 8th note subdivision without it affecting the others that are set to quarter note?

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  6 років тому +1

      You could change the time signature of the song to 8/8 instead of 4/4. That should do the trick

    Problem with mp3, besides not being as great as in quality as wav. Is that when a mp3 is created a digital signature is created which is empty time at the beginning and end of the track. It’s not a huge thing to edit and I guess if you saturate it wit reverb the only on it would effect is the first song or any stops. It’s a bigger deal with stems than pads. But just something for folks to be aware of.

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  6 років тому

      Thanks for the added insight. Yeah this is for making it as easy as possible for just pads

      Churchfront with Jake Gosselin I think it’s great! I just want to save folks time. I had to figure that on my own.like I mentioned it’s much bigger factor dealing with clicks, but if folks are like me they start simple and start see the potential of Ableton and get deeper.
