Just got my first pair of these today, after many years of using other Helikon-Tex products, which I find to be VERY nicely thought out and constructed. I've got to learn what to do with all the pockets. These pants are well-made and I initially think I love them.
Regarding your question about suspenders, I use them religiously in the winter.
With multiple cold-weather layers, I find that with just a belt, I can't keep my pants up without uncomfortably cinching that belt. It cuts off circulation, chafes, etc. At the end of a long day, I cannot wait to get them off. I'm super uncomfortable.
With suspenders, I'm good to go all day.
I'm, like you, a slim dude, 32 waist but 32 length. I'm really unsure about the velcro waist, considering that Helikon decided to bless us with those wonderful rubber Canadian buttons for pockets. Not sure about their velcro thought process, other than the comfort and adjustability, but I think that may be a liability.
So, IDK how these will fare, but I WILL find out. I am a land surveyor by trade and I beat my clothing to death every day. I also travel, hunt, and fish, all over. Today's "best" footwear and most clothing items last me less than a year.
Kudos to Helikon-Tex for trying to make something real. We'll see...

OUTER LIMITLESS... I have a couple pair of Helikon-Tex urban shorts. I like them very much and all I have to say is... pockets, pockets, pockets. Now to go for the Helikon-Tex pants. I know I will be getting a great pair for sure.

I wear these pants everyday and I have four things to say. 1. The crotch ripped for me after about 6 months. Keep in mind that I wear the same pair of pants everyday in every type of scenario so it is hard abuse. 2. The Velcro became fluffy after some time and lost its “stickiness” substantially, now I need a belt for the pants to even stay up 9 times out of 10. If I was designing these myself I would have a normal button. 3. The pockets are almost perfect. I would of course change some things but better then a lot of pants I have tested. 4. They are really comfortable. Just really comfy. Even after these big pros and cons I can firmly say that it was well worth the 90$ or something I paid.

PS I paid a tailor to fix the crotch so now it’s fixed and I will buy a pair of UF PRO striker X combat pants to replace them when the crotch inevitably rips again. Addressing the buttons on the pockets, I agree that they were difficult in the beginning but it gets easier as you use them.

Nice! Sounds like you gave them a really good abusive use. That's not a bad thing. Great to enjoy some good gear to the fullest. Thanks for watching!

They are like any other pants of similar construction. They will get holes from embers.

They're completely different. The Pilgrim are thick and heavy. The Outback are thin and stretchy. Depends what you're looking for.

Thank you for pointing out the Pros & Cons.
Those are definitely tough outdoor pants. I wish they used that velcro closure idea on the belt on the entire product instead of bulky buttons.
Other than that I LIKE IT !

I really like my cqr 501 pants. They are half the price, but the helikons look nice too.

Are these pants good for winter?

They're not insulated however they're thicker than my typical pair of pants so in that regard I would say yes they are good for the winter.

Are these pants good for hot weather?

    • @outerlimitless
      @outerlimitless  Рік тому +1

A little bit heavy for warm weather... Helikon has their Outback pants which are thinner. The Pilgrim pants are thick and they are my fall and winter choice. Also these are not vented.
