39 yrs ago, this was the most scenic view i've ever seen in my life on the very first night i set foot in the united states soil. makes me feel nostalgic.
About 39 yrs ago I crossed hills which can be seen in this view at 1:40 in an automobile; Later I would ride as passenger on this approach daytime▬really taken with power back somewhere 100 miles out then "efficient glider" all the way to flare which only from the air can one realize how extensive LA Metropolitan area actually is
Yep, only a handful of cities/metro areas, here, in this part of the World (Western Hemisphere/American Continent) are, actually, larger than Los Angeles Metro Area!
Well this comes 4 years after the fact but just so I know I'm right with my assumption......the plane landed on the North side(Rwy.24L & R) and taxied around the back to the South side(Rwy.25L & R)?? And I love the shots of the 3 A-380's you passed while taxiing to the terminal(Asiana, Quantas, and the tail of the China Southern parked at one of the terminals at Tom Bradley).
You would be correct. We landed in RWY 24R taxied around the back. One of my favorite things about LAX is all the wide-bodies especially all the a380’s. Thanks for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Yes this was inbound from Hawaii. You come in off the coast around the Ventura / Oxnard area going downwind from LAX. (Still flying east) Then they turn 180 over the Downtown LA area to pick up the landing pattern. Now you’re flying towards the west. Early morning arrivals (before day break) from Hawaii though will come in directly off the ocean to LAX.
Thanks. This was coming in from Kona. The only thing that kinda sucked was the engine got in the way of downtown LA. I caught like 2 seconds of it. lol.
@@neilcameron3021 That’s absolutely sick. But 70miles wide is not just Tokyo city but all smaller surrounding ones absorbed into greater Tokyo. Greater LA is probably not far off Tokyo in area size

That’s awesome. Glad I could bring back some good memories. Thanks for watching.

Same! For me it was 25 years ago.
Very well done. We have such a beautiful city to fly into at night.
Thank you so much. Ya’ll really do, it’s amazing just how big the LA Metro Area really is.
This looks good but cameras don’t do justice. It looks way more stunning thru your own eyes. ☺️
Completely agree.
I dream to come to hollywood maybe one day if god want
Hopefully your dreams come true
What a big city🇺🇸
It really is. Crazy to see all the lights
Omg, L.A. Metro is huge
Agreed. It’s an amazing sight to see the cities size.

@@nishhnishh1088 well, it certainly is a (lest, The) prime example of urban sprawl!
God damn that's a huge city. It didn't even seem like they were starting their descent yet, while over the city lights, at the beginning of the video
The LA metro area is crazy big. It always amazes me.
Thanks for watching.
@@MichaelBSteeleAviation it was an awesome video. Thanks :)

LAX & DFW...once you're on the ground it still takes 10-20 mins to get to the gate 😅
😂😂😂 facts. My only flight to ORD was the same.
Blows my mind how big the metro area is
Same here and I’ve done this a lot of times. It’s just insane.
This was a left side window, LA Metro is same as big on the right side window of a plane
@@RohitSharma-pr9lb Absolutely. What we see here is one third of the entire L.A. Metropolitan Region.
Very nice 🌹

thanks
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
WERE YOU FLYING WEST TO EAST FROM HONOLULU TO LAX ? JUST CURIOUS THE DIRECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT IS MOVING LEFT TO RIGHT.

This was around 9:30pm so the normal East to West ops was still in effect.
I would never live in LA, but thats a great view.
I live in LA and would say that’s probably a good choice lol The view is lovely though...

LA is fucking massive😳
Yeah, its nuts how large the LA Metro area is.
smaller than Tokyo!
It sure is. When I went to Tokyo it blew my mind how massive it was.
