Nice footage :) I went there during my first Iceland trip in 1997, hiking up on the left side, fording the Botná above Dynkur and coming back on the right side to join the famous "bridge". The path was almost not visible at all, so that was a real adventure.
Must have been great. I didn't go all the way because I was short on time. I'll have to go again sometime and do the full hike. 1997 you say, before the tourism boom, it was quite different back then. I was just a boy.
This video gave me a good sense of what this hike is like. You filmed your whole experience as if we were hiking alongside you. I am glad I found your video because now I know what to expect when I get there. Almost all other youtube channels have annoying music in the background and too much editing to the point where they all fail to show people what the hike looks like. I am just curious as to what camera did you use? Does this hike take about 2 hours round trip or more? When did you film this video?
Thank you. This was filmed in 2019. I used a ziyhun gimbal and a samsung galaxy s6+ smartphone. I have since upgraded to using gopro hero 7 Black with the same gimbal. I did not have time to go to the top of the waterfall. That's 2-3 hour both ways I believe. This took about 2 hours both ways I believe.

@@IcelandHotSpots Yes, it was different, I meet only some people picking up blueberries near the parking lot and two men during the tour :)

Thats as far as I got last year, couldn't find the path to the top and there were a couple of paths near the viewpoint that were closed.
Yes I didn't have time to go further. I want to revisit it someday for the whole hike.
@@IcelandHotSpots i will look forward to seeing how to get to the top
