    man, this should be a recurring segment.
    subtle shade, amazing food, an incredible chef with no bs that's a little aloof and an overtly eager seth.
    get this dude back.

    I love how instead of making fun of his accent like other talk show hosts, Seth works with Chef Takayama so easily and fluidly. Amazing host!

    Honestly, Masa Takayama seems like he lived the life of 10 people. The amount of stuff he did throughout his life is astounding to me. Not to mention, he lived in a time where you literally have to be somewhere to experience it. You don't have deliveries for everything. There was no internet back then that can show you everything and anything. Still he managed to do so many things. People back then truly lived their lives.

      TBF; the dishes are completely different, Masa is a professional chef and he had the foresight to pick dishes he knew he could prepare fresh and simply on a short TV segment. No matter how amazing a chef is they ain't going to prepare good fried chicken from scratch in 8 minutes.

    • @Hudson316
      @Hudson316 7 років тому +7

      Yeah, he made a raw tuna that just needed cutting, no cooking, and then made noodles that only really needed to kiss the oil in the pan to cook. You can't get much faster than "doesn't need cooking" on a cooking segment

      becuae Masa came prepared. It's a damn side better than Action bronson murdering hundreds of dollors in fresh truffle for a raw "funky smelling" burger.

    • @cordedhornet9739

      @@Hudson316 I know you replied a year ago but dude this is Japanese food what did you expect him to fry up a burger and hope it would take up 15 to 20 minutes to make 2 course gourmet meals??? He brought Japanese tuna that he himself shipped which cost roughly 300 depending how many kilos he sent let alone he always buys the whole tuna fresh every couple of mornings which can cost up to 2000 or more and I'm sure he bought fresh tuna so the host of the show could enjoy it. When he arrived he used dishes that were delicious while using the minimal time he was offered. What do you want him to do? They gave him like 15 minutes to make some plates and he used about 8 minutes of it while you're still sitting at a restaurant and get your meal 20 minutes later.

      My guess is that he had to beat the fish to a pate consistency and keep on beating it to give the pate the strength and texture that will show after shocking the pate in water in water. I know that in China a kind fish ball/fish dumpling is made this way, which does have a chew to it.
