Ron Dunn and Peter Inglis, both your names rang a strong memory. Colin Stevens played with Matchbox sometimes. Colin was was my brother in law, as you know he passed away a few years ago. My sister Tess remarried but kept in touch with Colin’s parents and Colin. Tess’s new husband met Colin. They got along really well, both teachers, both musicians lol. I still think of Col he was a great guy and terrific bro in law.
Hey Peter! Tea chest bassman! Thanks heaps for uploading this. Looks like a GTK clip, yeah? I saw you guys at the Paddo' Town Hall in '74 or '75 (maybe 76??), a food fight broke out with the ersatz marzipan. Saw you again in...Prince Phillip Park (I think it was called) -- twas in North Parramatta, just out of its little CBD. You were doing "Hail Malcolm!" and supported by Big Swifty.
I'm Peter, one of the guitarists (2 Peters, 2 Micks, 2 Jims, 1 Dave) in the all-acoustic version. I didn't make it to "Hail Malcolm", maybe not quite '74 either. It is a GTK clip, nice studio production
Thanks man, yes those GTK clips were all well done. Yes, I just looked up my old vinyl of Smoke Dreams and there it is: "Peter Scott" played the tea-chest bass. Looks like it was a really fun band to be in. I met a woman in Sydney's Blue Mtns in the 1990's (just a friend), and she said she "used to hang out with those guys" -- Jill Rattray, does that name ring a bell?
OMG one of my favourite albums - so pleased to see the videos - thanks to whoever out them up love love!
Revisiting them, & still in awe of their talents. The best!
Toe-tapping brilliance. Saw them a few times in Melbourne in the 70's great times.
A crazy part of my youth I never forgot. On the end of a spear I will hold you so near
These people are crazy and wonderful and superb!
Brings back memories of a Captain Matchbox/Daddy Cool double bill at TFM ballroom in Prahran. Many joints being passed through the audience.
Thanks for this. Just discovered these guys and they're awesome.
one of the greatest bands of all time whenever we went to see them by the end of the night everyone was up dancing
ok boomer
This is gold!
Aww, what great stuff! Had skipped my mind for way too long
Saw the band once, Coolum Beach Hotel
'79. " thru the cobwebs of time,
I recall fun in my prime."
This is GREAT!!!!
Peter Inglis,.....thanks for posting these guys!!!! Fantastic band!!!!
thanx Ronald, great to catch this iteration at it's peak

Who’s playing Mandolin? Looks like Colin Stevens, but no proper front view?
@@bernadettelanders7306 that's Mick Fleming, one of the greats, + original member, eventually replaced by Colin

peter inglis I don't know I was just a 12 year old hippy kid.
Great!
When was this recorded? The tape looks '60's, the font possibly '70's.
Ah! Never mind. Wikipedia is always the answer.

I played this for my daughter. She said " racist".
yes, a white-fella pre-war take on the Japanese city, but a fairly benign word-salad
