What a great piece of Australian history. Claud Gillar was a good mate of mine and I was saddened at his passing. When I emigrated to Australia in 1988 he helped me expedite getting my A thru D licenses. All are dated the same day which I guess is a lot of jumps in one day :-) Another good mate from Pakenham DZ was Billy Kenny. I'd never seen him with a lot of fuzzy hair before this film.
@@YeetMeyer NO, if memory serves 500 gets you an E license. A lot of us never bothered, you get a D and you can do about anything. Thom D-1903 (Australia)
sure would like to see more of these films, thank you

@@tplyons5459 gotcha.. I'm trying to learn about 70s jumping history my grand uncle's number was #D-2773 (USA Nick Wilson)
Quite a few familiar faces there. I jumped with Jerry Bird for a couple of weeks at Hillman Farm in WA in 1976/77.
My grand uncle jumped with the Australian team in the 70s Nick Wilson baseman .. do you know any way i can find information about these teams?
@YeetMeyer There doesn't seem to be a lot of handy information about that time. The Australian Parachute Federation may have some archival records.
