This was an excellent video. But I wish you continued further showing what to do next after you pinned your CID on Pinata so that these images upload on OpenSea. Thanks again for your extremely insightful and clear videos
Thank you Daniel for all of the great videos, I have used your codes on some of my projects and I always keep the withdraw function with the tip the same for you! Thank you!
Hi Daniel. I would like to say thank you very much for your videos. I managed to create a collection, make a SOLD OUT and now have a community. Now I am planning for new collection ideas and building more for my community. Currently I am trying to figure out how I can make a music video collection, how to host/manage large files for the music videos or gifs (I think CDNs are used for that). In addition I am trying to figure out how I can form a DAO for my community. It would be great to learn from you about these topics as well. Thanks again, you are a great person 🙏🏻🙂
Thank you, I will try to cover DAO's in the future and also get into Music based NFT's so stick around for that. I would suggest that large files like music videos will unfortunately still be on a centralized storage mechanism.
See, the crypto community should really support this channel. The day I make money with this, I will donate a big chunk to this channel. Daniel is one of the builders of the future web.
Problem is there is a 25gb limit to pinata still. So regardless of if you do it this or any other way you have to contact Pinata to do it... please help if there is any other way. My images folder is 30.5GB.
thanks Daniel just made a very big 4k pixel collection and this is magic it was over 60 gb and didn't think about this nice upload on how to tackle this (was late)and thought it a bit out and for now I splitted the collection in 3 series and thats fine too because I could if I want or if fans wanted "to give the second and 3th series" a change by adding some new minor rarities thats possible because I stil have the 2 other series of a series that was 3636 example more backgrounds or new layers with somthing new.
Just to add, Pinata has a 25GB upload limit whether it's file or folder, even if you do parse it that way the CID pointing to the folder will still be above their limit, if the total file size is above 25GiB. In my case, my 10000 nft collection is 60.5 GiB. File size management maybe the best solution, for now im pinning on my local ipfs with the downloaded install. But I must say you are awesome!
Hey @Art Grimes Could you explain what to do, I'm in the same boat the collection is way above 25GiB. Is there still a way apart from drastically reducing size?
Thank you, very straight-forward and easy to follow. One question, where does the IPFS-Desktop store the files and data on the hard drive, and is that configurable?
Daniel, thank you. Would love to get your thoughts on the pros and cons of having all NFT images in a collection pointing to the same CID. I've seen a few collections have a separate CID for each image. This method seems to be crucial for projects that have a slower mint, as it ensures no image leaks can happen. Thoughts?
Yes you are 100% correct, we have a solution that will fix this on NFT projects so stay tuned. But in the meantime the best is to keep it in one CID just because it's a better structure than splitting it up.
Great video Daniel! Can you do an example how to upload to ipfs while minting? This is much better solution as it will prevent users from viewing the images & metadata files before minting just by entering the 'next' file name after the cid in the url...
I have watched a few of your videos, and I was wondering if you have any tutorial on how to give someone a specific NFT from a collection, like for a contest winner where the reward is a specific 1/1.

Hi Daniel. When I get to the step of updating the baseuri, the code can be executed wonderfully and it is displayed that the base uri has been updated, but when I open the json files, the basuri was not updated. please help me.
After downloading IPFS I was able to upload some and then it froze up. After restarting and getting back in to IPFS I am getting "could no connect to the IPFS API" and I cant figure out how to get it back. Entering "ipfs daemon" in terminal comes back with command not found. Im sure it is something simple I'm missing, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hello, When you say to ensure the `Links` matches the collection count, it doesn't. In your example, you only use 20 or. I have a large collection (E.g. 7777), and it stops at `Links: 256` when I add it to IPFS Desktop. Do you have any specific ways to handle the edge case you called out? I'm forging ahead and importing into Pinata, hopefully just a bug in IPFS Desktop, seems a bit flakey.
I am new to all this, thank you SO MUCH for uploading great informative videos about how to upload files on IPFS. Could you tell me whether I have to upload metadata with the images (separate text files), or can I add the metadata within the images that I can make through Photoshop or with Adobe services that you can inserter metadata in an image file? I'm a designer and every time when I upload an image on the web I insert metadata on my images.
Hi Daniel, First of thanks a lot for all of your videos, you are a true genius, and your content is simply perfect. My question is if I can use the CID i got from IPFS to update the metadata or i must upload it ti Pinata first ? Thank you.
For the Json metadata I have notice that the .json needs to be removed to retrieve the metadata information in some services like TofuNFT. Is this common as I can't find any documentation stating this as a standard. I have made and run a simple batch file to remove the .json extension from my metadata but just want to know your take.
Yes that is true for most browsers it works but their are edge cases, thats why the extension is also optional because I will be showing how to host you own server this year.
