He is surely right around there. So many great players, different team styles, eras. Hard to see who the best ever is LBJ , Jordan, Kareem etc all great
Of course ESPN always pushing the fake LeBron is great narrative. Accumulating stats does not make you an all time great. Making your team great and winning titles makes you great. LeBron is not a competitor on any where the near the level of an all time great. He needs his team to be stacked in his favor and he still fails the majority of the time. LeBron’s career has been a hoax all along with the media pushing the narrative that he is great. In reality LeBron doesn’t even belong in the top 20 and it’s insulting to all the real greats before him.
My thoughts on the Top 75 list 1. Dwight Howard over names like Walton, Artis Gilmore and Bob Lanier (5X All-NBA 1st Team, 3X DPOY) 2. Kareem over LeBron (6 rings and 6 MVPs. One was unstoppable, one wasn't) 3. Wilt over Magic (Fewer rings and assists, but more points, rebounds, and maybe the greatest defender ever. 75 NBA records) 4. Move Oscar Robertson down toward #20, not a Top 10 player (Had 3 great years) 5. D-Wade over Kawhi (More rings, fewer injuries, more games played, better highlights, better leader)
Disagree about LeGOAT and Kareem. Kareem was unstoppable in a weak era of mostly plumbers. When the competition got real in the early 80s, he was very much stoppable. Even in his Bucks days, Wilt locked him up tight defensively. LeBron may not play the same position or style as Kareem but in every was he is superior. LeBron literally went to war with teams in a much much more talented and competitive era than Kareem ever did. He may have less rings but that does not calculate greatness. He could have had more rings if he wasn't carrying the weak Cavs on his back in 2007 and 2018. MVP. He could have had more but MVP is a really subjective thing to begin with that it does not decide greatness for me.
Why is MJ always picked as #1. Kareem ended his career as the all-time leader in points.A record he held for 40 years. Plus he won 6 MVP and 6 championships with 2 different teams. He could arguably be considered the best ever in high school, college, and the NBA. Chamberlain was the most dominant scorer in the history of the league. He scored 50,yes 50 points per game along with 30 rebounds. He holds records for most points in a game (100), and season, most rebounds season and game. And, is the only player to lead the NBA in points, rebounds, and assists. Not to mention he played great defense. Russell and Magic changed the game. Bird,West,Baylor, and Oscar were simply too damn good. Jordan was great. But, I think marketing has swayed many fans.
People talk about micchaels 6 rings. They forget that Russel had 11. Can’t always go by rings other wise bird and chamberlain wouldn’t be in the top 10. It’s about skill, impact, success etc. all of them. Not just rings. Other wise Russel destroys everyone. Michael is the most hyped athlete of all time. Not just in basketball. Of all sports. I don’t mean he was all hype but the media boosted than man like he was some kind of a god. No one on earth got the attention he did. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I can tell you Jordan was like the epitome of mass marketing. Everything was about that dude. The commercial “I want to be like Mike” says it all. No other athlete got that kind of praise.
I’ll say it again bird was better than magic. Magic had the better team, but overall bird was better in every aspect except assists. Bird was just as good of a passer as well but he was a forward and magic feed the ball to his teammates. He is great but in my humble but accurate opinion bird should be ahead of him regardless of where you put them on this list
Shaq can stay where he is; Patrick is far better than Chris Paul, Kevin McHale & Scottie Pippen. Kobe definitely needs to be #4 (arguably the greatest Laker ever) while Magic can be #8. Duncan #17, Dirk #10
LeGOAT only kills coaches who are trash like Darvin Ham. He still had the GREATEST playoff run in history in 2018. And the most points ever scored. Also 11k rebounds and 11k assists. 4 MVP and 4 Finals MVP. Chumps like Magic and Wilt are far below Bron.

They need to swap Isiah for Steph in the rankings and KD is highly highly overrated; no way in hell is he better than Julius and Akeem. Totally disrespected Zeke

Let's simplify this for people who don't understand basketball. The idea is to win--always win. Larry Bird took a team who had never been to the NCAA tournament to the tournament and to a 33-0 record into the championship game with sub-par talent around him. Indiana State was not a hot bed for talent--players were not looking to play for Indiana State. Larry averaged 31-13-5 for his college career. He would have had more assists if he had some talent around him that were more of a scoring threat. The very next year, Bird took the 2nd worst team in the league, Boston, with a 1978-79 record of 29-53, to a league best 61-21 his rookie year, an NBA record-turnaround for wins/losses. After falling to the loaded, veteran 76ers in the ECF, Bird led Boston to a ring in his 2nd year. Bird has the 2nd highest winning percentage in league history to Magic, who started with a prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar his rookie year on a great team and won the title, following winning a title with MSU v Bird the previous year. Numbers don't lie. Jordan posted a losing record with the Bulls his first 3 years. They didn't have a winning record until Pippen's rookie year. And the year Jordan sat out in-between rings, the Bulls only lost 1 or 2 more games that season without Jordan. Who do you think had the bigger impact for his team and won more games? I won't even go into the head-to-head matchups and playoff history of Jordan v Bird. If Magic and Larry aren't your starters on your all-time team at their respective positions then I question your understanding of the game. Any all-time team without Bird would get their ass kicked by the team that had Bird. While most 'superstars' would be concerned with getting their touches playing alongside other 'superstars', Bird would be making those around him even better, further unlocking their potential and showcasing their skills, and serving up an unselfish brand of team basketball most people probably never get to play--moving without the ball, playing team defense, being first to the floor for loose balls, crashing the boards, etc--and winning--the style of play where guys don't even care about their boxscore because they brought out the beauty of moving the ball and getting wide-open shots--playing the game at the highest level of execution with everyone contributing. Larry is the only 24-10-6 guy in the history of the league and is ranked 61st all-time on the 'Overall Defensive Rating' list--higher than both Jordan and Pippen, LeBron, and Kobe--but let these fools tell you about how slow he is and can't jump while getting 1.7 stls/game for a career(~ same as Jordan for career) and 10 rebs/game for a career (more than Ewing, Laimbeer, or Giannis), but at the small forward position! Respect Bird people--especially if you are pretending to be a professional and know something about the history of the game. When a guy is ranked so high defensively, and is in the discussion for best shooter, rebounder (at small forward), and passer of all-time, then he is #1. No one on that list is in the discussion for the best ever at all 3 phases of the game except Bird--and you could include clutch, 3-point shooter, and FT shooter. Michael is not in that class and that isn't a knock on Mike--no one is in those conversations like Bird--and Mike was 0-6 v Bird in playoffs. I guess there is nothing to do but hope people will get over their ignorance--NBA brass included.
Get Bird's hammer out your oral cavity before it pulverizes your tonsils. Ugly Larry with the Rocky Dennis hairdo is not even the greatest small-forward all-time. King James passed him up many years ago. Black Jesus is your GOAT's GOAT. After the very first time Bird faced MJ in the NBA he told a Boston Globe reporter "that guy is going to be the greatest ever - you just watch." In MJ's second year, one in which he missed most due to broken foot - after being swept by Larry and the other FOUR hall-of-famers Bird said "that was God disguised as Jordan." Danny Ainge was on Ys Guys podcast not too long ago and said "even though our stacked team beat the Bulls, we all knew Jordan was the best player on the floor." MJ wasn't even close to touching his prime. Jackie MacMullan, who's a lot more qualified than you on the subject, and who's covered Bird's career and even collaborated with Larry on his autobiography views His Airness as the GOAT.
LMAO. Larry had Hall of Famers in his team when he joined the Celtics. He had like a few good players in his team, Kevin Mchale and Robert Parish. Larry wasn't even the finals MVP when he won his first ring. You replace MJ with Bird on that shitty 80s Bulls team and Larry wouldn't make the playoffs. hahahahaha
@@James-sn5mg The damn truth! And that's why Clyde Drexler said “If Michael had same supporting cast as Bird and Johnson he’d win as often as they do. If you’re talking about who’s more valuable to his team it’s Michael.” And that wasn't hyperbole cause as soon as MJ had just ONE prime All-Star teammate not a multitude of them ala Bird and Magic, he won more than they did.

I don’t know if The Spurs were the better team, but Duncan & Parker were balling out. Detroit blitzed Kobe & Payton that gentlemen’s sweep. Spurs beat them in an epic finals the next year. Le Bron should be lower than Bird.
Curry is not better than Robertson.
That should point out the difference between a great team & a great player!
Rodman was a role player. Great rebounder but in the top 75 is a stretchhhhh.
ESPN decided to put a bunch of players like harden who choked when it mattered and never had the IT factor as top players ahead of many who true fans know dominated and won when it mattered. Simply because they were scorers. This list is about 70 to 80% accurate at best.
Forget ESPN and their rankings they ranked Kobe at 10 that’s crazy.
He is surely right around there. So many great players, different team styles, eras. Hard to see who the best ever is LBJ , Jordan, Kareem etc all great
@@anthony273not hard to see. The best?! It's simple to see who was best. Ain't anyone you would take over Jordan. If you do put your money there!
People forget how really great John havlicek was..
That’s WTF hype can do to a man!

Bird ONLY 7th!?!?!?
We can skip the video ...
Tim Duncan over bird
As long as they had Bird, Magic and Jordan in top 10 I'm good. The rest is subjective.
Kobe 10 Bird 7 cmon they are both top 5 period
Evidently ESPN never saw Baylor or West play. They were unbelievable.
Agree. So many players ahead of this two it's impossible.
More impossible only LeBron On 2-nd place. How he can be ahead of Larry?

I agree
And Dirk
His resume already rivals theirs, and in less time. I don't think that guarantees it but there's arguments for either
Not yet anyway .. your right
giannis has Championship and final mvp
When they'll add Alex English, Adrian Dantley and Bernard King, it'll be too late.
My thoughts on the Top 75 list
1. Dwight Howard over names like Walton, Artis Gilmore and Bob Lanier (5X All-NBA 1st Team, 3X DPOY)
2. Kareem over LeBron (6 rings and 6 MVPs. One was unstoppable, one wasn't)
3. Wilt over Magic (Fewer rings and assists, but more points, rebounds, and maybe the greatest defender ever. 75 NBA records)
4. Move Oscar Robertson down toward #20, not a Top 10 player (Had 3 great years)
No other athlete got that kind of praise.
i dont know why Lillard is on the list already.. too early for him.. he achieve nothing but than scoring.. 😅
Can same the same for Reggie, Melo, and Dominique
@@flaming3652 reggie and Dominique????? not those 2... they deserved it, especially Wilkins

Patrick Ewing is better than half the players in front of him and Steph, Shaq n Kobe need to move up
More proof the Admiral > Ewing
How about chris Paul being over Kawhi🤦♂️

KD's rank is accurate as hell he's underrated by many people just because he went to GSW but he's without a doubt a top 10-12 player of all time

Larry bird over lebron all day
LeGOAT only kills coaches who are trash like Darvin Ham. He still had the GREATEST playoff run in history in 2018. And the most points ever scored. Also 11k rebounds and 11k assists. 4 MVP and 4 Finals MVP. Chumps like Magic and Wilt are far below Bron.

Check out the game footage some day--Bird had a lot of highlights shooting over Pippen and Jordan double-teams.. and a lot of wins.@@James-sn5mg
