Whenever you mention “boring Betty” my mind goes to Betty and Veronica from the “Archie and Jughead” comics. Veronica had the flash and sass but EVERYONE loved Betty.
I’m terrible with eyeshadows, and almost never reach for them, but it’s always fun to see what other, more adventurous/talented people like to wear ✨ Lisa Eldridge’s Vega is about my speed, although I went wild and bought an absurd number of Clionadh multichrome shadows last year (most unworn, tragically *sobs*).
My youngest is using my Clionadah shadows at the moment. I'm glad that they're getting used, but it's not by me. I should ask for them back, and have some fun! I love the Vega palette, it's stunning! i never felt like I was skilled in eyeshadow, but the more I applied it, and the more I leaned into it, the better I got. I'm by no means a pro, but much better than I was 5 years ago. I only wish I had the eyelids from 5 years ago. : ) Thanks so much for watching today.
Oh yes definitely I absolutely curate certain eyeshadow palettes with the season as well as keeping certain ones out all year even with a somewhat smallish palette collection Color stories I like for fall are Olive/army greens Rusted browns Burgundies Antiqued golds and coppers Palettes I have pulled for fall this year and some I have pulled every year since I’ve had them: Sydney Grace mountain trail ND: golden (I also loved this all this past summer ) I need a warm yucca mini gold The warmer shades in midi retro mini biba Mini star
You have a wonderful ND collection. there were so many bright and colorful palettes before and I skipped most of them. Even the minis that would've worked. I love my SG Mountain Trail so much. It's one of my favorite green palettes. Thanks so much for watching today!
The Sydney Grace palette with the bright blue - you could try it as a lower lash line pop of color with the tawny warmer brown shades all over the lid.
I definitely change my makeup with the season. I really love the ND my dream palette. I recently swatched the I need a warm and liked it more than I thought. I have blue eyes and I think those warm tones will suit me well. I did however have an allergic reaction to I need a nude, I fear that the glitters in the new palette will also give me teary eyes 😢
Oh, I hope you don't have an allergic reaction to any more ND palettes. I really like the I Need a Warm. It's just warm enough without being too much. I have frequently thought that I would enjoy the My Dream palette, but I have never gotten around to picking it up. I'd need to swatch it in store again and make my decision then. Thanks so much for watching today, and have a wonderful rest of the week.
Love watching these seasonal video's. I wear more what's new in my collection to be onest. Now it is the new ione liquid silk from LE. I love it. And wear it all the time. If fall arrives I have the craving to pull out that Nars palette (9 pan with the red packaging, I think its the climax pallet) ( It is from almost 4 years ago I believe) It is grungy with greens and blues and some golden tones. And one stunning muddy mauve tone. I think that it is the perfect fall palette for me. I revisit that one. And I will revisit my LisaEldridge palettes. I've been onest I didn't juse these a lot. I will try to rearrange them and get more juse out of them. ( my Myth palette comes in mind)
I love going through my collection and making sure I know what palettes I have so they all get some use. It's easy for me to loose track of a palette, and it lingers in the back of a drawer. My LE palettes have been languishing in the back for a drawer for a while, but it's time to put them to use! Thanks so much for watching today.
I love the Gold Palette. INAW and Metropolis is a go to for fall. I don't necessarily change my colors for the seasons. I would say I get inspired by looks and search my collection to dupe the look. I am under the weather. Horrific sinus infection. I am taking antibiotics. I hope you have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
I'm so sorry to hear that you're ill. I hope your antibiotics kick in soon and you recover quickly. I love the gold palette too, and wished I had picked it up when it was available. I have the Metropolis, but rarely pick it up. I feel like it's too saturated and overwhelms me when I wear it. It's been more than a year since I picked it up. That's so sad, I know. Feel better, and rest up!
❤🎉 Viseart rules yay lol. 😊 As our days become less humid I do tend to play around with all my Viseart pallettes, it's so fun and easy to create such different looks. I never tire of them, the colors and quality are just so stunning!! I'll think of you often as I reach for these little treasures. Thanks and hope you're having better days. ❤️🥰🙂💄🪻
Thanks so much. I'm awaiting an appointment with my neurosurgeon on Thursday. That's when we'll decided if surgery will help, or if I continue to seek relief from other methods. I hate to say it, but I'm hoping for surgery. I LOVE Viseart. It's one of my favorite brands, and I'm always so impressed when I pick up one of these palettes. I'm glad that it's starting to cool down because I'm excited about changing up my summer wear for sweaters. I've been making a few new ones, and I can't wait to wear them this fall and winter. Thanks for watching today, and have a wonderful rest of the week!
@@thelipstickgal Thank you!! Oh wow you make sweaters, do you knit them? Can we see them in your videos? Did I miss them in past videos..? Just woke up and I can't remember if I knew you made sweaters or not lol oops... 🤔🙃🥱❤️
I can’t stop wearing the Byredo Mineralscapes and I don’t understand why it was limited edition. I wouldn’t say that I change my eye looked much season to season, although on winter I love a frosty look. Autumn colors really don’t suit me all that well, unless they lean a bit cooler like your Viseart palettes. The Danessa palette is an essential that I use regularly. I’m not as in love with the DM pink-berry palette but I might have to dig it out for fall.
@@tzoe875 I keep thinking I might need to get the berry toned danessa myricks palette. I wish I wore more lively colors because I would love the new light works palette that was just released for holiday. I nearly picked up the Byredo palette you mentioned, but I wasn't sure if get much use out of it. Maybe I missed a winner. 🤷♀️ Thanks so much for making the time to watch today.
Loving the vivid colours on your blouse! Like me you want desaturated colours for eyeshadow but when it comes to clothes, give me potent, happy colours! For eyeshadow I tend to like "warm" (golden palette by ND) colours that do not turn orange in summer and autumn. Somehow I tend to wear more cool tones in winter and also in early spring (need a nude kind of colour story) and a lilac and a chatreuse metallic green for a pop of colour or an eye pencil in royal blue or purple. I have observed my purchases of eye make up during the last years and this is all I use really, appart from mascara and a dark brown eye pencil. That expensive quad by Hermes is beautiful, looks very good on you❤ how are you feeling regarding your pain?
I love this blouse. It's such a favorite, and I love to wear bright, vivid colors in my clothing. (just never on my eyes) I feel like I'm finally figuring out my eyeshadow preferences. I used to buy what was popular and I always looked a bit crazy. I'm glad that in the last few years I've opted for less saturated colors, and it makes all the difference. I prefer more neutral or golden shades for fall. the INAW from DN was a surprise. I feel like it's less warm than advertised, and that's why I like it. I'm very much like you, and I'll be pulling for more cool tones during the cooler months. Sounds like you're a person after my own heart with your love for a dark brown pencil. I have so many, always in search for the perfect one. : ) Thanks for asking about my health. I have an appointment on Thursday with my neurosurgeon. That's when we'll decided if I'm going to continue pursuing relief through non surgical methods, or if he thinks surgery might help. I'm a little anxious, but I think that surgery would be the best option. Moving my shunt and my shunt catheter would most likely get rid of my pain level. I'll have to wait and see what he says in my appointment. Thanks so much for watching today, and enjoy the rest of your week.
@@thelipstickgal I do not buy black pencils anymore, I need to wear a kg of make up on my face haha I like to smudge a dark cool brown pencil, it needs to be smudgy, so I tend to like more pencils with more powder than wax (does it make sense?) No! As long as I can wear shorts and the calendar says summer it's still summer! JK, I just love summer and September is the most beautiful where I live, so I try not to rush into fall. That said, when the time comes this fall I'm much more feeling the desire to go one-and-done simple neutral on eyes and try to be bolder with lips this fall. I tend to fall into easy neutral lips but I love the look of bolder. Weird question on an eyeshadow video, but would you consider any kind of "helpful tips for wearing bold lipstick"? You seem to do so effortlessly and successfully, and I always worry about texture/smearing/fading, getting it on my teeth, and so on. How do you deal with drinking water and coffee throughout the day without smudging all over the cups/glasses or the lips? How often do you touch up? Do you reapply liner? And so on...
I totally understand your love of summer. I'm the one that has a love affair with fall and spring, so when it gets close, I get so happy! I do love a one and done eye, and on my non-filming days that's what I reach for. (if I'm wearing any eye makeup at all) As for lips: I don't reapply my lip liner usually. The higher maintenance lipsticks don't usually stick around. (ones that smear, get on my teeth, or easily get messy) It's really rare that I hold on to a messy lipstick even if it was expensive. It's usually one that I'm in love with the color, and wear with caution. I reach for ones that are less emollient to make sure they don't get on my teeth, or get outside my lip lines. I also like ones that reapply easily over the top of themselves. That's why I don't like most liquid lipsticks that dry down. They don't apply easily on top of dried lipstick. You have to remove what's already down first and then reapply. I don't have time or energy for that. I'm always looking for a formula that feel creamy, without being greasy. That way, I can touch it up as I go through my day as needed. There are a few lipsticks that I won't wear if I'm going to be drinking coffee or water from a container because some lipsticks leave behind a layer than can transfer to unintended parts of the face. I only wear those lipsticks when I know my eating and drinking is done. I never thought about how I think about the day ahead, and pick a lip product to suit my activities. I do that every day without thinking.
