I went to my local knife store and checked out 5 different brands and about 15 knives in total… This knife won hands down. I don’t know much about knives, but you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to feel the difference in quality. I love this thing, very happy to EDC it.

Very glad I was able to get the left-handed basic TR-3. It really is a great edc auto. I appreciate them offering some of their models in a lefty version.
I'll probably catch flak for this, but the TR-3 is low-key one of the best Protech models out there to EDC, period. Great overall specs, the 154cm works and sharpens well, and they literally have made so many variants that there's something for everyone.... if you can find it. LOL.
I've got the X1 SW. Love it. The only reason I bought it is because I didn't have any autos. The closest I had were assisted folders. I used to own a Godfather but I ended up giving it to a beautiful woman. You know how it is. I used to own a Boker Kihon. I know, I know. It's cheap and not in the same class as the Pro-Techs but I did love that knife. I gave it to another lady friend. I still don't know why I did that. Anyway, after buying my TR3, I purchased an all black Godson the following day. Now I have two automatics and they're both Pro-Techs. Life couldn't get any better.
very well knife .I used to wear a socom elite every day, now I wear the Protech TR3X1 OPERATOR, excellent knife, light and discreet. Really operational, I love protech

Love my grooved, black body and blade TR3. No, the steel isn't exotic, but blade has proven to be tough and it is quick and easy to sharpen. I've got a number of higher end knives, but I love the simple classic TR3. Probably my most carried knife.
Beautiful folder and they sold out in a couple of days, I hesitated and missed out. I'm hoping to get a TR-3 X1-M, I won't be able to hesitate on that one as those will go quick.
I bought that stedemon ive mentioned recently in some comments. Definitely a good knife for the $35 price from bladehq, but not a huge fan of the feel of the g10 on the handle. Ball bearings and detent are both decent. Sandvich steel, first knife ive had with it so the quality is tbd. Glad to hear and see youre feeling a bit better now

I know you are going to be alright especially since you are able to make your usual quality stuff. still I got slightly worried Sunday finding out you came down with the scary bug. I remember you mentioning you have a child (daughter if I am recalling correctly) that has a breathing issue of some sort. I feel uncomfortable being so personal about your family but hat I am trying to say is that I hope the best for you and your family! Amazing knife, I personally do enjoy the more tactical looking and practicality aspect. With that being said I am on the fence about having a rose gold themed folder. Threatening to my masculinity ..hmm nah just an addition the uniqueness and variety. Rose gold knife would be the definite example of a truly Beauty of a knife. Take it easy! I’m loving Air to the Empire! I started listening to the movie like audio and am now completely hooked! I’m learning from Timothy Zahn in hopes of being inspired to come up with something half decent. I have much to learn with my studies. Being as realistic as possible while setting my hopes high. Have you written anything in means of books? I want to write fantasy somewhat science fiction but closer to urban fantasy where there are mythical beings such as Fae along as others in the modern World. Influenced heavily by the Iron Druid series and the Anime Full metal alchemist. So, yeah a mix of a whole lot of weird stuff without so much of that urban fantasy romance. I know not where I will end up but as long as I keep writing rubbish perhaps one day I will come up with a decent plot that will help others take their minds out of the matrix for a few hours. Try not hating me for vomiting my nonsense all over you. I took a shot in the dark knowing how much experience you have writing and being on stage so you have a good feel for what gets and keeps people’s attention. I plan on studying with my grammar and all so I can share my imagination. ...🤐
Does the TR3 have a good blade to handle ratio? My impression is that many Pro Techs have a poor blade to handle ration. This one looks more balanced than most Pro Techs.
Maybe the clip is to help with grip safety when it's hitting open. 🤔 I have no clue. Just a thought while watching. ...Further thinking about this it would make sense since one may not always have that ready to go grip when opening. There may be that time or two you are distracted and weak-handed open it.
Any chance we'll see a battle to the death between this and the LUDT? I keep looking at the TR3 but it's hard to justify when I have (and love) the LUDT.
Hey Bryan, wondering if you have handled some of the Kershaw Launch series? I have a Launch 1, 3, 7 and 10 and several Protechs. While there is certainly a perception of higher luxury in the Protech stuff, I feel like there is a ton of underrated value in the Launches. While it's polarizing design understandably puts some folks off, the L7 is an absolute dream to EDC, light weight, slim and a lot of usable blade... maybe my favorite "Bugout killer". Just interested to hear your thoughts in general... IMO, the Launch line are some of the best knives coming out of Kershaw/ZT these days

I’d have to agree. I’ve had mine for a little over a year and it’s a fantastic edc knife. Protech’ s are worth the money.
