The Del Rio High School Song uses the Strategic Air Command March for their school song. Laughlin Air Force Base is right outside the city limits, and when the 2 local school districts were consolidated, the 2 high schools were merged into one. New mascots, school colors, & school song had to be chosen. I’m not sure who wrote the words, and it only has 2 verses, but every Del Rio kid who goes to A&M thinks the FTAB is playing their high school song.

Texas A&M has the largest ROTC program outside of the uniform service academies (US Military Academy at West Point, Naval Academy, etc.) The student section at Kyle Field is on the east side of the stadium (the section that is facing the camera) so it's formations are towards the students and thus look "upside down" from the camera's perspective.

It takes hours of daily practice which is all in addition to the other Corps of Cadets activities and in addition to your studies. The university is steeped in tradition and the Aggie Band is one of those traditions that was started back when the university was just a military school for men. It actually commissioned more officers in World War II than all of the country’s military academies combined. I enjoyed my time there and I never tire of seeing their halftime performances. We may have an awful football team, but no other university band outperforms the Aggie Band.

The thing they spelled was "ATM"- it was upside down to the camera because the band was facing rhe student section.
The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band marches a new routine every home game. This video is from the last home football game of the season, and it's tradition for the band to incorporate the four-way cross into their routine during this game. The four-way cross is mathematically impossible when put into a computer program due to the size of the tubas. They should run into each other, but I've never once seen them make a mistake during this maneuver. (Been watching for 33 years)
The end of the video was the entire Corps of Cadets. It looks like they lined up for a photo and a special video recognition of the Corps and its history. The band usually runs all the way off the field immediately after finishing their performance.
The rough collie you saw is named Reveille, the highest ranking member of the Corps of Cadets and Texas A&M's mascot. In addition to the other traditions mentioned here (barking to let out class, sleeping in her handler's bunk, she also runs onto the field in front of the football team before every game. Great university with fantastic traditions. ❤️

I really enjoyed my years in marching band BUT . . . . . What the show is chorreography. This show when you break it down is NOT close order drilling like in the military but mostly a "follow the leader" program where a column of band members follow the leader two steps behind and copies the route and turns.
This is easiest to teach people who have not marched recently like alumni.
Only a small number need to KNOW the program and the others must TRUST the man ahead.
The audience gets a fun show and only critics like me burst the illusion of PRECISION. (Pick out one leader of a column and watch how it is done )

Maybe try to limit your statements to something you are a bit more informed about. Listen to the very beginning - the PA announcer specifically introduces “The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band” so this title is correct. Having said that, I have never heard of a current or former student refer to ourselves as Texas Aggies as we feel “Aggie” says it all. That is pride showing through - there are obviously other universities who are also aggies. You are also likely to hear us say we are from A&M far more often than Texas A&M even though we know that there are other A&Ms in the country. Saying we are embarrassed by the A&M is just ignorant and petty.
There is no reason you can’t be proud of going to UT without feeling the need to put down the other fine universities in this state. The university in Austin doesn’t hold the rights to the name Texas and inserting your insecure little jabs into the comments for content about other schools just sounds a little sad and desperate for attention. We are all Texans - Be better.
