Me and my brother met Dave at a house of hardcore show at the 2300 arena and billy ray used my brother’s sign to state who the special guest referee was and it was Dave.
People who want to attend wrestling shows right now need to check out local independent shows. Here in North Texas, we have had regular shows monthly since June. And we always get good crowds.

Wrestling will always evolve. Back then it was a lot of large barrel chested guys that looked like your uncle or something and they did more basic wrestling styles... then as people got more fit.. and guys were more athletic.. it got faster and more spotty. I personally love old school and new school. Can watch flair vs funk then turn around and watch Omega and Okada. Old school definitely felt a lot more realistic than it does today for the most part. But either way wrestling is wrestling and I’ll still turn into my 8 year old self when it’s on.
"Wrestling was better, back when..." - CVV. I would interview James/Jim E. Cornette ("Corny").. Katie Vick / Kane / Triple H (ahhhh - No ! Not that again..) a longer storyline for a feud, that lasts for months.. then, have the blow off at a Pay-per-View (via a Match, with a Special Stipulation, that is appropriate).
This was a really good interview. I agree with most of what Dave said but with regards to what he said about it must be difficult to write a 3 hour Raw every week. Yes I can imagine it must be a pain in the arse for them but they only have themselves to blame because they’re greedy wanting to make more money than they already have from the sponsors or network or whatever. They made that decision so I can’t have any sympathy for them. 🤷♂️

Like Dave LaGreca, I have been a fan for over 40 years and grew up on the NWA territories. From the beginning, I found the WWF unwatchable. I didn't hace cable but the WWF syndicated shows were awful. Nothing but squash matches.At least the territories had at least one or 2 main-event quality matches every week. Will always prefer that early and mid-80s territory time periods.
What you speak about in regards to AEW fans and WWE fans hating on one another is nothing new or just young fans. The same thing happened in the Monday Night Wars and I have to disagree with it being different then and now. Not all fans watched both shows, some were diehard WCW and some diehard WWF and some ECW. If all those fans were also all WWF fans, those fans would have carried over after the invasion. Yes, some fans like me and Dave existed back then. We were fans of the wrestlers, not the companies. I watched everything I could possibly get my hands on, but other fans treated companies like sport teams. Wrestlers, celebrities and fans are on record admitting to this. WCW was stronger in the south because of its roots. WWF in the north. You also have to take into consideration the huge amount of fans who appeared in the late 90's/early 2000's who only watched one company for a short period of time and then left forever. When I was in high school it felt like nobody cared about wrestling and you could be bullied for coming out as a fan and then suddenly out of nowhere everyone became a fan of the WWF for some reason. It didn't last long, maybe months to a year, but suddenly everyone wanted to talk wrestling and wrestle and bring in the toys to school and wear wrestling shirts. Looking back at this now I see it was a fad for them. Just like Pokemon cards or Pokemon games were or items of clothing or TV shows like Celebrity Deathmatch or South Park or insert any other fad from your own experiences. Hell, mobile phones right at the end of high school became the fad. The same argument could also be made for TNA and WWE fans constantly bitching online a couple of years ago. The majority of people (especially in America) are very much obsessed with tribalism, the difference between then and now is social media giving everyone a voice. In the past you didn't have to hear or see all the hate from complete strangers.
