- For women who want a baby but don’t want a man, there’s a new way to get pregnant.

The connection is made online via a Facebook group or a dedicated website. The point is also that those children will feel connection with each other, because they are related. They will interprate it as "love" and easily fell in love. If they know that they are siblings, they will understand their feelings. But most of them probably will never get to know who the father was

with them donating to families in the same areas, are there no concerns for the potential meeting and possible mating between siblings that are unaware as to what really happened? these are mass numbers for siblings. and the bloodline will only grow when those babies grow and become parents themselves. i feel like there's cause for concern here. im in no way against sperm donations, but i do feel like that should be regulated a bit just because of the potential harm.
Giving the size of Britain I’d say your concern is very warranted. Not to mention no medical screenings are occurring here. If this man has HIV or anything else these donations could have long lasting repercussions…. I’m all for helping families procreate - but not this way. It has to he regulated
Especially considering genetic sexual attraction, meaning siblings (that are unaware of their relation) may be more sexually attracted to each other.

My thoughts exactly, given my son met his wife, together they carried the cystic fibrosis gene, exact copy no less, my grabddaughter has what is call double Delta F 508 mutation. The single copy of this gene us the most common form of CF but she's born with a more rare form of the double mutation.
I don't find appropriate places to randomly discuss either issue in my reply, so thanks for reading, I do tend to explain more than I should, for clarity. I'd love to see one of you find a suurogate, producing a child for a loving couple who cannot conceive to follow surro mom through the process, with the child going to them in the end in this "Once upon a time" story!

Lying to their wives/families, totally unregulated medically, allowing a total stranger in your home who now has your address, complete financial irresponsibility of the "father", encouraging absentee fathers, living a double life(for those that have families) not to mention, as the documentary presented, men hold all the power, narcissistic men, etc. etc. etc. What could possibly go wrong?
This is some sick male mania of spreading their seed while presenting it as 'helping out'! I personally would feel very ashamed if I found out my father had 60 other children. Every other person I meet could be my relative, what if I create a family with such person?! The concept of devoting your life to one person and having limited amount of children with that person was created for a reason!

I feel like it at least probably has something off, especially from a man who would literally have been paying his own money to do this, spending his time driving around to do this for women from Facebook, while lying to his own wife about it. I am not a psychiatrist, but a lot of unpleasant mental things can definitely be genetic and I'd be worried about his genes possibly making people who'd have a higher chance of doing some bad or at least sketchy things in life

I want to believe all the selfishness and stuff, them being a family friend or someone who just can't flee from helping another human being create a family.....but I don't buy it.

i have mixed feelings about this. some of the "Donors" seem off like they only do it for their own pleasure but some guys seems more genuine compared to the others like mitch ...

He’s either doing it to spread his DNA through generations. It’s a form of immortality. Or he is also having Natural Insemination as well where he is having sex with them and he’s a predator. It’s one of the two, IMO, and that’s from a LOT of research on these “donors”.

The whole point of using a sperm donor is that there is not contact with the donor. That’s what happens with a sperm bank.
@@Polin-dx5ru I'm talking about when the kids are older and in my country they have the legal rights to know who their donor is and if they would like to meet, ya can't do that if your donor died of old age can you?
honestly i see the issues, but i also see it as a gay woman who's dream since i could talk has to have children- and i'm hopeful i'll one day meet someone willing to be this donor for me. It was very hard to come out as lesbian, because in doing so i had to come to terms with the fact that i may never get to be a mother when it's all i ever wanted. It's hard knowing that because i'm a gay woman in a country that values them so little and has extremely high fertility costs i will likely never get to experience my dream- and sometimes i dream of someone being kind enough to offer me that branch. Though, the flaws still stand and before my dreams i will always put logic and if it logically is too risky i won't partake.
Best of luck to you Halie. I never realized, or thought about, how much trouble other people have conceiving and making families. Kind of makes me feel bad I had 2 kids so easily. I feel like my 2nd kiddo was a miracle. I was told I couldn't have kids anymore cause I had a bout with cancer in my 20s. And even after that I was able to have a baby. If only it was that easy for everyone. I do hope you get that family you have always wanted.
As a woman God has already granted you with everything you need to make ur dream come true, it's just up to you take to nature's course.
I have my qualms but I get why people want to do it this way. Fertility procedures are so incredibly expensive and not guaranteed to work so all that money goes down the drain. My biggest problem is the men who are married and they’re wives have no idea. That’s the worst thing ever.

I am a donor and I have helped most of my people through a Clinic with exception of 3 women who are private but I could not fathom having more than 20 kids!

The “donor” threatens he will take custody of the child and that dissuades the mothers. That’s the response I’ve heard from at least 6 of them.

This is not right. It’s not how life was meant to be brought into this world. These kids are going to struggle about their parents’ decision to do this for the rest of their life. How do I know? I read the thread after thread of adult donor conceived people on Reddit who tell their stories. It’s so sad.
