the weakness of Pep is: When system is perfect, smooth an in caculation, every thing is unstoppable. But in contract, when only adverse element appear (Rodri injuris, walker down form), man city machine can not find right way to play well. we can see that the way they be eliminated in UCL: 2 conceded goals in 3 minutes against RM, 2 conceded goals in 3 minutes against Totthemham (2019), 3 continuous goals in first half against Liverpool 2018, ....
His entire managerial career has been on easy mode. Good manager and tactician, but many other managers could've achieved what he has by just strolling into such perfect circumstances and periods with those 3 clubs.
That’s a good way to put it, both are CDM players as well. Now we all know just how important that role is in the football world. Can arguably be more important than strikers or wingers on occasions.
It's so obvious that Pep and Cole Palmer never liked each other. Cole Palmer doesn't like Pep's personality and demanding ways and probably made it obvious to Pep. Pep demands utmost respect and loyalty from his players and he obviously was never gonna get that from Cole Palmer. So it was because of Pep, his personality, and ego that Cole ended up signing with another club.
As much as Rodri’s injury has had a detrimental impact on the team due to his influence and irreplaceability, we have to remember that City’s problems go beyond his absence as they were winning games before he got injured and after his injury for a brief period, even if he was fully fit, people need to realize that the team would still struggle since everyone is out of form and most of the players aren’t playing with confidence
I think every team in the Premier league has caught up to what Pep brings to the table and they are able to come up with tactics of their own to win games
This thing has been hidden for long as now finally it's coming up: Rodri's injury is basically a salt rubbing to smallest of cracks. Pep's new 3-1-6 setup isolates Rodri as a holding mid, from an attacking perspective looks great because Rodri with his IQ easily can bypass pressers and at the same time can play those long and penetrative passes up front, dictate the tempo from deep and with a midfielder high up they had an advantage everywhere, if you press those mids you isolate Haaland in dangerous positions if you don't then the mdifielders get the ball and given how good City MFs are at long ranged shots and creativity its also a nightmare to deal with. Plus, if a team stayed too compact, they brought Savinho to address this who could get past his marker and find crosses. But when the press is bypassed or when another team stays compact and City lose the ball leading to counter attacks meant that while dealing vs transitions, Rodri had to cover a sheer amount of room and with having to play every single minute, it was not sustainable at all. It looked all is well because Rodri has that athleticism, IQ and positioning in order to cover those gaps. Even when he was playing, this setup was incredibly vulnerable vs pace merchants like Mbappe, Vini, Gyokeres who could get past you with their trickery, pace and dribbling. But with Rodri's injury these cracks have become casms. When you play Kovacic in that same position, you miss Rodri's physicality and positioning and now attackers have free run at goal.Gyokeres having 2 1v1s vs City is the biggest example of this. With Kovacic playing there you miss the passing range as well that Rodri used to provide and if you play Gundogan there sure you get the passing range but you miss that physicality. As I mentioned above about the Savinho thing, with Doku on the wings as both are pure dribblers, both are risk takers too who can lose the ball as well and losing a ball means directly conceeding a chance in this new setup, that's why you'll see these two gentlemen play less minutes together in this new setup and Pep prefers to use Nunez over Grealish (who only has played 35% of the minutes available) which we don't understand especially when Grealish is much more threatning compared to Nunez in those wide regions in terms of crossing/chances creation. Plus, individual performances have also dropped and individual errors have stacked up. Kyle Walker is finished, Foden looks more like a cat, Bernardo idk wut has happened to him and Gundogan ever since he returned from Barca has seemed lost, I guess the way they kicked him out had a mental effect on him. As you mentioned recruiting has been poor as well as they have no replacement in two of the most imp. positions in ST and DM. They have lost Alvarez as well and if Haaland gets injured they're done for.
Damn...the score on this video had me cheerful at first, then feeling ominous then head banging until I was left crying in a sad heap. I'm not even a City fan but I was invested in their downfall (long may it continue)
A team isn't won on a one player, what a sad excuse... you win games on the strengths of many players... I think Pep is just tired and it takes alot of mental energy to rebuild a squad... my Chelsea FC has has had a hell of a rebuild and we are still in that stage... I think Man City needs a new manager, Let Pep go, he has done your team proud... Just my opinion
It’s seems like you just watched the first minute then commented. I explained in detail what the issues are and they go well beyond just Rodri. It would help actually watching the video instead of sprinting to the comment
Pep misses Klopp this season. All the motivation or sense of competition left together with Klopp. Arne Slot is good too, but Pep was different with Klopp. They like each other and I believe he misses him. Maybe even Pep is considering leaving Prem League. Or maybe he is building a comeback story for the history books.
i feel like players like doku and debruyne are trying to impact the team as much as they can in these trying moments, its like a 2 man team against 11😕
I always know Foden might fall off , most British players nowadays always fall off at some in their career, probably when it’s time to truly build the team around them, if I’m a football coach I’ll never try to build a around a British player
Klopp signed an extension till 2025. Meant nothing when his feelings changed about staying. If things keep going the way they are I can see Pep giving up the ghost. I feel Pep will do what he feels is best for his club and he won't stay if he feels going is better for the club than staying. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not that far off IF the team keeps losing and losing badly.
Doesn't even mention haaland until at the very end? People say rodri this rodri that but no one in the attacking side is injured yet they just can't score. Haaland has had enormous chances in those 11 games yet he failed again and again. Also the whole city way of play dies help. If anyone's at fault it's pep
Pep cant put the ball in the net for Haaland. Despite the chances missed, Haaland is still at the top of the premier league goal scoring charts. Goals isnt as big of an issue as much as the midfield and defence is. Blowing multiple leads has nothing to do with the attack.
@pedtalkssports Pep cant defend the goal for walker too tho 🤦. If you watched those juventus and mu games, clearly they don't have a clue how to attack despite holding a fair amount of possession. And what does haaland being the top scorer has to do with anything? Since the stay humble eh is he the same striker he was before? Clearly not if you're pocketed by maguire 🤦
It couldn't happen to a better team nothing last forever. Everything they have won since their sugar daddy take over is tainted 🤫. Until they prove themselves innocent. Which in my opinion they are guilty has 💩🤷.
I don't like or dislike the city team itself, but I have watched them over the years because I was a fan of Guardiola... so I kinda feel bad for the whole team as well
now players aint geting under the table payments as they are being watched they cant cheat anymore they are not playing as good. money motivates and not getting that extra money cost them this.
Whatever is happening just rebuild the squad and if you wish to leave before or after 115 charges verdict . Kindly leave with honours , ypur achievement and success is appreciated by football lovers all over the world . Thanks
Best analysis on city's downfall I've seen in these two weeks

@@Finn_Lawless Pep so genius. But he make everything too perfect. when adverse situation suddenly appear, Pep teams always embarassing
Rodri to Man City is how Kante was to Chelsea. No, Rodri, no Man City. No Kante no Chelsea

‘If you are enjoying this City downfall you are sick’
Me: 🤒 🤧
Foden is now being compared to Antony and Antony had better stats.

Nah…It’s just a slump and Rodri injury…When he starts winning..don’t cry

If they even want a chance to finish in the top 4, they have to spend their money on the same profile as rodri
Next time haaland gonna keep his trap shut.
That was some epic shithousery gone wrong,
tbf if Rodri didnt get injured, it wouldnt have been this bad for them.

Rodri still didn't deserve the ballon d'or . But great points
It seems that you rodri has a 0 case to win the ballon d'or
Yeah so doesn't Vinicious but hey who cares
How did City become so reliant on Rodri? Football requires teamwork and one player cannot win an entire game.

Pep won’t want to leave ManC until he rebuild ManC’s foundation just like Klopp.
