    Medbay is the best system to get with boarding ships and crews. You install it in a 4-space room and you can heal your crew back to full a few times easily per jump. It lets you go balls deep with boarding.
    PS.
    You don't have to load the crew to the death sled all at once. You can load them one by one even, just click load crew multiple times whenever someone's in that room. Also, you can even load them into the sled BEFORE you jump to the next node!

      Care must be taken when loading sub-husks or other temporary units. There's currently a bug where the death sled still registers as loaded, even though the sub-husks inside have died from the jump. It needs to be manually unloaded before it can be loaded again.

    I have found that necromancers are great fun. At only 30 cost, they summon 2 ten hp gouls once every 30 seconds with no limit to how many times you can summon them. If you can find the ship augment that increases the HP of demonic units (undead count as demons) you can get the gouls to be able to fight toe to toe with some of the lesser HP units. and if you had say.... five necromancers. you could fill up the other ships with wave after wave of undead that is effectively free for you. and You can summon them inside your own ship. So in a pinch you can have a free meat shield defense force. (they can also repair in a pinch)

      There is also a module that makes your crew(including summons) explode on death, dealing 10 dmg to enemies. You can imagine the rest.

      @@Vatzbalerg My favorite module that I found that works with necromancers answers is one that did one point of ship damage per spell casted on a ship. It stacked up damage very quickly.

      Fun thing about ghouls, they have a 30% (I think) chance of respawning as a weaker version of the groveler (the legless zombie) on death. So there's a non-zero chance of getting two units for the price of one.
      In my very first run with the Imperial Cruiser A after purchasing the game, I had 4 necromancers for the final battle. And each of them had 2x summoning reagents (for various beasties). So I basically drowned the enemy in waves of chaff, while my hull ripper, energy lance, and siege bombard worked on the hull and systems.
      I also had 4 bloodwitches, however I found the blood magic spells (the ones which consume a friendly thrall) a bit fiddly, so I didn't bother with them. I think you need a dedicated blood cultist set-up for those to work. I replaced their thrall summons with general purpose powers: one which temporarily converts an enemy (great on squishy but dangerous enemies like psykers, they quickly get murked by the rest of the crew), one which deals 3 ship damage (excellent spell: unblockable, always hits), one which slows down enemies for 10 seconds, and one which deals 10 HP damage and gives a 20 second window in which killed enemies return as friendly thralls. The bloodwitches also had summoning reagents, which I spammed in the final battle.
      I also got a husk rack around the middle of my run, and I used it with the boarding pod to soften enemy ships a bit before my main assault party would go in.

      i think your describing a magic ship. a magic ship in this game is like Drones in FTL. I imagine that you can stack up any type of mage... like 5 mages with missile bolts that deal 15 damage with that slow module, you just fire 5x15 shots and instant delete the commander. it is little bit like Bio weapon that slug uses in FTL where weapon only does crew damage. you would still have like 1 war knight/big unit for boarding to clean up. there is likely various types of magic ships. boarding magic probably a thing. that's like anti-personal drone.

      @@dodang_9147 I eventually found out there's a blood cultist ship available later on, which has a summoning pit (a husk rack for blood thralls). Seems like a blood magic run could work with the thralls spawned from it.

    just a little tip, you can reuse the load button on the launch pod. you don't need to do the micro dance every time to load them all at the same time.

    The game looks better than FTL. i never played ftl for long tho, so i guess i can be wrong, but i felt like ftl is kind of limited in content. like if you play it a couple of times, you are kind of done with it.
    this seems to have sooo much content. so much ship systems, so many possible ways to play.
    the only issue i see so far is that it seem way too easy. i guess it's hard to balance or something.
    while on ftl i felt like it's way too hard.
    i'm gonna wait for the release and definitely get this one. it seems really fun.

      But sometimes there stacked as hell, I have seen like 3 centurions or 2 war knights on a single merchant ship not even counting the other chaff.

    I lost on the final fight with a pretty potent boarding build. Was fine up until they vented.

      You need equipment with exosuit function (immune to suffocation). But even then, you still need some sort of weapon to grind the hull down (after you've ganked their shields with your boarders).
      EDIT: Or just hoard summoning reagents (and crew with tool slots) and spam a ton of warp critters. They're immune to suffocation. I think (forgot to check) the ghouls raised by necros are also immune.

    i think you can win mostly by boarding but you need weapons that deal null damage to finish enemy off. you don't need Ions weapons or pre-fire guns. all you need is like a laser weapon. like 6 shot fire weapon or Glaive beam. just something that finishes off ship at very end. your suppose power-down the teleport and than turn on the big gun.

    As the second comment here I will say this: Get a weapon that grants health on kill in next run and get the war knight again with an explosive weapon, then watch as you have an unstoppable, unkillable war machine that gains health from boarding.

      Last run I found a weapon that increased DPS by 2 per kill, Imagine combining that with a healing weapon

      @@theithuriel8697 dude I can’t even play the game I would love to see that happen if you can find a combo like that. But tbh a weapon with an explosion and fire on death like what the UA-camr had would be better, cause you get burst dps and dot at the same time.

    the possessed ships are like the automated ships in ftl. not a lot of point to board, but i guess you can dmg their systems enough to blow the ship up.

    something i noticed, like in multiverse the lance weapons are limited shots and such so after they fire, can't you just turn them off?
    you could use the power

      That's what I did in my run. After I expended the shots, I redirected power to the siege bombard.

    I get you film these videos in big burts then release them, but attack the rooms on the enemy ship that are not glowing to continue doing damage. Immune immune immune means hit something else.

    You haven't lost a single run so far, even playing with just one hand and half-a-brain. If you focus on the game I'm sure higher difficulty is not gonna be an obstacle for you.

    thoe whole "can't send people somewhere is a bug, I don't know the exact cause, but it seems to make the game that think the square you are trying to send them is already occupied.

    Many games have the you gave an order, you cannot override the order until the order is done. Hitting go home move here stop go back open close all while paused results in.... not what you want.

    You keep making the mistake to target deamon hearts. Yes, taking out piloting is good but deamon hearts repair too fast for that to matter. If you target the engines instead those will take a very long time to repair like all other systems and the ship will be just as dead in the water as without piloting.
