Okay so I don't see anyone really talking about the quality of the game, so I will give my opinion. After watching Berlin play the first two runs, I was extremely intrigued to see what would happen next. However, Berlin hit it right on the head as well as the other comment from Eye of the Storm, there is WAY too much going on in the second half. The first two things were unnerving, and the second also incorporated some paranormal aspect into but it wasn't too crazy you know? Obviously, it isn't realistic per say but it wasn't like "Woahh what the hell is this?" But the third and fourth were extremely over the top. Like that spider mannequin hybrid being was literally something straight out of The Forest. It was freaky sure, but at that point I was like, "Okay, what is this game going for? Is this all in our character's head? Is our character actually working with someone else to rob a house and got more than what they bargained for? What is actually happening?" The caves underground was stretching it, as well as the catacombs attached to it. Not only that, but the voice helping us (when we thought it was actually another person) always seemed to be switching sides on us. One moment they seemed to genuinely want to help, when in others they would turn into whatever the fuck garbled mess, like is our character losing his mind? He seemed fine when he talked to his wife, so what the hell? Making all the dangerous characters we face part of his book is an interesting twist, but I felt it really didn't land all that hard. I felt like that should have been a "gotcha" moment but I didn't really feel that. Lastly, the ending was very underwhelming, maybe the creator plans for a sequel but who knows. This game would have been much better if it stuck to a thief uncovering the fucked up shit behind a rich family in their mansion.
P.S. - What kind of wife would put her husband through the trauma of facing his abusive parent again after getting away from him? Unless she didn't know, which is insane since you gotta meet the parents obviously. So, this woman knows his father is an abusive asshat and she really asked, "how bad could he really be?" That is fucked.
Thank you for this comment. I appreciate you
@@berleezy Dad, can I get a EEUUUGGHHHH
Damn that was a great take on the game. Honestly the creators could have taken the initial idea of a house with dark secrets and turned that into a game, 'cus I was getting spooked from the gameplay and it was genuinely interesting. However, it starts to lose it's initial punch when the creators incorporated the idea of the husband who is struggling. Making both ideas into separate entities would've been a much better approach than just mixing the two and seeing what happens. It's just a shame because from what I can see, the developers did a outstanding job with the mechanics and graphics, but the story keeps the game from truly becoming perfect.
Priorities for me. Your child might die or live with complications for the rest of his/her life you sacrifice anything to protect your child. Worry about keeping the child away from the grandparent after the fact. These comments bagging on the wife seem strange as hell to me. As a parent you sacrifice anything for your child no matter the beefs or whatever because especially in this situation it’s really not about you or your past when you don’t have any other way out. We can clearly see that book wasn’t anywhere near done

OKAY BET, CHECK THIS OUT.
I don't think he was ever robbing a home. The big mansion is actually the family home, where he was raised / where his father ran his butchering business. There was never a second person talking, it was just him. I'm sure he has some kind of psychological problem due to his traumatic childhood. Hence the voice in his head & the hallucinations. The several stories that you played were actually his novels that he was writing. ( the one about getting a heart for the son being the most personal ) When his son became ill, he was so determined to get money he drove himself crazy while writing his books. It's like he got so involved that he started living his stories. I believe the notes you found around the mansion weren't necessary clues, but pages from his books. Another thing to point out, as he explores some parts of the mansion the voice in his head gets confused and weary, that could've been his PTSD kicking in. Also at the end Aiden goes on about not contacting his father because he will lock his son up, like he did to him. In the basement it had a room full of bunk beds and also jail cells.. Maybe that's where his dad locked him up at for some time. I don't think he actually killed anyone, I believe the house drove him mad ( he was there over a month his wife even stated that) it was all in his head. At the end his wife kind of brought him back to his senses, he finally left the mansion.

;_; At some point the dude talking on the headphones accent changed, and it continued to happen throughout, I think that was a hint that he was being possessed. I think the directions you received, Berlin, weren't from the dude you originally started the game with, but was the father of that boy who died. When he says "Sorry, he needed a new heart. I had to do something." I think him having you stab the old heart was so that yours would be sacrificed as a new one by the end of it.

ua-cam.com/video/8p-Qu43HqaI/v-deo.html
I hate to tell you. But he was.
To be honest, the game was not that bad. However, the ending just made me feel like those childish stories where the child writes, "But it was all a dream," in the end. It became too much when they introduced a completely new storyline and it really got confusing. What I think, is the voice in the headset is actually Aiden talking to himself as if he is the character in his book, but he is not aware of the fact that he IS Aiden at first. And the more you start over, the closer to the truth, or rather the reality, it gets. It's not so much as the stories build on each other, but more like the stories are separate, and they're just a way to really experience Aiden's stories. I guess Aiden's writing became an imaginary world to escape dealing with his father, but over time he started to run from his own reality making the stories a time loop or something like that.
Berlin always says "I got to get a thumbnail" then never ends up using what he said he was going to use.

idk why, but that "narrator" voice was giving me nagito vibes.
Maybe because he waS BAT SHIT CRAZY
it gives me so much hope!!!
I actually love the symbolism throughout the game that helps describe what the narrator is going through.
First play through: The implication of be a thief and trying to steal a valuable gem represents the idea of relying off his father’s wealth to support his family. The gas masked killer chasing you through a slaughterhouse type map symbolizes how you feel like “cattle?” to your father when you see the locked rooms and hear the cries of help behind them. When you finally escape, the house burns down, representing you “leaving your past behind.”
The second play through shows the inner feelings of the wife, throughout horrible paintings that convey tragedy and grief about what was happening to their son. The implication of the the mother being “abusive” and having anger problems probably comes from the father and the anger that he feels when he believes that his wife doesn’t have faith him, or the anger the wife has for her stubborn husband. The abusive part comes into play when you see the caged “room” in the attic, which symbolizes their son being kept away in the hospital. Or maybe it also reminds the father of how his own abusive one used to treat him, so he compares the two in some way?
The third represents his declining sanity when things for the son start getting worse. This explains why at the beginning the narrator seems more desperate for you to go into the house than normally. In the dungeon you can see multiple pages regarding the son and “bringing him back”, notes on different types of organs strewn about. One of the notes even states “maybe my heart will be enough” so maybe the father was contemplating on giving up his own in surgery? Skipping to the scene with the spider like monster with the organs, the narrator competes the level with saying “sorry, he needed a new heart.” Which obviously implies the son needing a “new one” to be better.
The fourth represents the ultimate climax of the internal guilt the father is facing. He starts questioning everything in his life, anger taking over and seeing himself as a murderer for not doing enough to pay for his son’s treatment. The harsh words aren’t for the player, but for himself as he is haunted by his failed “creations/monsters” or the novels that he failed to sell in order to get more money. The ritual like circle with the three skulls is his way of coming to terms that everything is his “fault”. The three skulls representing him, the mother, and the son with the words, “I want to look at the person who killed me” implying that his failure to get the money would cause the “destruction” his family.
In the end, I think the reason why the game kinda feels all over the place is because that’s what the creator of the game wants you to feel. Just like the father, you keep going back to square one each time a novel/level fails, and you’re forced to start anew with different changes each time it happens. This might explain why the monsters in the game keep getting worse and worse as you progress through.
DAMN YOU ATE THIS UP FR, ARE YOU AN ENGLISH TEACHER?????
damn this was good
I think that’s the irony of the game. The guy trying to take care of his kid started making garbled and confused stories ( maybe related to the stress of trying to make a best seller book). These are the stories that the man himself would relive in his subconscious that the gamer would play through. Likewise , as the game began to progress, it also started become confusion and a jumbled mess lol. Concluding to an ill sitting ending in both the man’s life and the game itself lol.
My man did not have his priorities straight. He got a girl pregnant and married before he had a successful book career. I guessHe was so obsessed leaving his dad that he thought everything would be okay

The more the guy in the camera talks the more he sounds like he's setting you up Berlin😳

Maybe the reason the first part of the game was so good, and the second part felt washed out and forced is because that's what was happening to the writers story in the end. Since we were going through the stories rewrites it would make sense. It was on purpose? If that's the case that's pretty clean not gonna lie.
thank you, i feel like what some people dont understand is this is supposed to represent rewrites, it gets sloppy and makes less sense the more you re-write and change the story.
@@RatedKillGod yeah! I see a lot of comments saying the plot is convoluted and all that stuff, and it's like, duh, bro! It's supposed to be. The more you start over, the more your story will get crazier and messy lol.

Hopefully y’all see the difference now between him laughing along with y’all and just y’all laughing at him😂.
I feel like the point of the game meant to be a little disjointed. We were in the mind of a father who was given an ultimatum (give up your and your son's freedom or his life).I personally enjoyed the story and didn't find it to be very confusing. You are playing through an author's rewritten versions of his story. I'm presently sick and tired of the ghost and ghoul endings like he was dead the whole time or he murdered his whole family and then himself. PS I don't believe that there is a good or bad ending because in both endings you still lose something. So it's more of a bad and less bad.

I really wish these games would continue with the original reality they established in the game instead of wanting a "gotcha" moment at the end. Same thing with little hope. The "it was all in the character's head" is never good as one thinks it is. Like if you're gonna make a messed up world with ghosts and possession and monsters stick to it. Anything can happen if its someone's imagination which makes it less clever imo.
Would have been better
Yoo everyone like this comment. We needa get Berlin to play Siren Blood Curse. That game is weird scary, and I think it'd be hilarious to watch him play it.
Edit: We need him to pin this. BERLIN. I KNOW YOU'RE THERE.
If his wife leaves him because he is writing a book hoping that it will sell enough to pay for the bills/kid is one ending, and choosing to leave and go to the author's abusive dad just for the child to probably live the messed up life he lived which one is really the good ending?? 🤔🤔

The daily uploads man, damn
Man quarantine has been a breeze cause of berlin and the gang bru I swear! thank you for the consistency
I think I understand the game. The author(Berlin) is writing a story and each rewind is a new chapter(Obviously.) The chapters become more confusing and silly in the 3rd and 4th chapter most likely because at this point the author is panicking and can't think straight. As revealed at the end,(aside from the missing notes for the 3rd and 4th chapter) he is struggling to create a decent story that will sell and he didn't even proofread his work. So when we are going through the walkthrough of the ending of the story, he piles these metaphors that confuses everyone to make an attempted "outstanding ending" that he believes will become a seller.
This game follows the author's mind and writing, so(in my opinion) you must follow his situation and emotions that are revealed at the end to grasp what is happening in the last two rewinds. They make no real sense for this theme and they are jumbled with needless intensity, but given that this is written by our character and knowing his mental state, it's valid. Not for his story, but for the game. Once you have a hold on the idea that the whole playthrough was based on a story, it kinda helps you understand which choice would lead to a better outcome.
Yo Berlin the ezzy gang really appreciate the consistency 🔥🔥
