My mom used to talk to me like an adult and correct my speech, grammar, and enunciation, probably since I was 2 years old. she said people used to look at her crazy cause she was correcting a 2 year old but she didnt care, I appreciate it as an adult tbh lol. I remember being like 3 or 4 years old and using words like "incidentally" and "compartmentalizing" In the right context and every one thought I was a prodigy lol. In actuality It's just because my mom had a strict policy on speech and not using slang in the house. since her first language wasnt english kids used to bully her when she was growing up in America so she worked hard at fixing her english. Now you cant even tell english wasnt her first language. That same sentiment has carried over to me in my adulthood and I'll probably raise my future children similarly.
