Last year Howard Webb defends Micheal Oliver for not sending off Kovacic for 2 challenges at the Emirates because he “didn’t want to ruin the game”. Today he sends off Trossard for a second yellow card.

Martinelli gets 2 yellows for 2 separate offences in the same move, (the foul and decent), first time it’s happened and it’s never happened again, same ref last season against Chelsea, one their players does the same thing against us but the ref doesn’t send him off
Szoboszlai on a yellow card last week kicks the ball away and the ref just tells him to calm down

The sending off was the best thing that could have happened for us. 11 vs 11 open game, we are not strong up top in the grand scheme of things… “could have opened up”
This way, we had one sole focus…and basically we did the job, obviously gutted at last min goal, but most would take a point prior to the game. Good start all things considered.
Couldnt be more wrong. If we want to beat them we need to play 11 v 11. This would have been a great second half with more goals from both sides probobly. Shame the world didnt get to see it...

It's an unbelievable defensive display but no matter how much I try and tell myself I'm glad with the point-Im kidding myself. Im devastated. And psychologically I worry how we respond. I have seen far too many Arsenal sides in the last 20 years crumble off the back of damaging results. We have to make sure it's a big point that we kick on from. In the immediate future that means no eff-ups vs Leicester, Bournemouth and Southampton.

We have come a long way now that we feel gutted that City scrapped a draw against us with 12 men against our 10 men at the Etihad. Same guys who criticized us for celebrating a point against them last season were the ones who celebrated a point today. I'd the positives from this match.
We did really well. I believe we got cheated and given the effort we put. It’s a shame we should have won but I am very pleased with Arsenal.

EPL needs to implement the Purple card because this is the second game it got ruined by the crazy rule which hasn’t even been used consistently and seems to only show against Arsenal when they are on yellow card.

The takeaway from this game is that the pgmol and fa are giving instructions to refs who will officiate arsenal matches to find a way to screw them over. Arsenal needs to start buying off refs as well.
