IDI stands for InDirect Injection. The injector pushes fuel into a little chamber where it ignites pushing into the cylinder. Most Diesel made before about 1990 were IDI style
Based on the emissions tag on the engine and its rated power of 190 bhp, this does actually seem to be one of the rare trucks with an IDI turbo 7.3, just before they moved to the early PowerStrokes. Those were rated 215-225 bhp, though still an International design (T444E)
If you get that tow truck if you can’t get her started plug her in and put some starter fluid and it will start we have one at my work and it runs everytime
I think there may be hope for the Super Duty, it didn't sound bad cranking. I don't know anything about those engines in particular, but many engines have "clear flood" mode and totally shut off the fuel when cranking them with the gas pedal pushed to the floor, so that might also explain why it wouldn't start since you said the pedal was stuck on the floor.
The International Harvester IDI (from Indirect Injection) engine is a four-stroke diesel V8 engine used in International Harvester school buses, trucks, Ford F-Series pickups, and Ford E-Series vans from the 1983 to 1994 model years.
Good morning Randy. The 1994 F Super Duty IDI is a good looking wrecker. The 1982 Pontiac Sunbird is a decent looking car even though it's got damage all over.
That Caddy Seville series was great. 1976 - 1979 . It's based on a Nova platform. Very quiet cruiser. Very elegant. Oldsmobile engines with a Turbo 400 transmission. One of the best GM transmissions ever made. Avoid the diesel and convert the fuel injection to a carb. I had one myself 30 years ago. The 1979 Black over Silver Seville Elegante was a stunner.
It’s a 1994 ford f-350 7.3 International IDI ( in direct injection ) diesel engine made by Navistar, the predecessor to the 7.3 powerstroke. Now you know what it is.
Randy the Elco also had an intake…if you can get it cheap toss a MonteCarlo SS or GN front clip on it…any chance you could feature the White Silverado 2500/3500 to the drivers side rear of the Ford Tow truck? Love your videos and the new format…although you got several cars into this video.
I have a 1994 f-350 with a 100.000 miles only diesel Cummins The motor has been very well taken care of I bought it new and changed the oil every 3000 miles with Full Synthetic oil! I just was wondering why they are a rare motor or trunk?
Hi Randy, I say forget the tow truck, the Trans Am and the Cadillac. I'm all in on the Camry, that thing looks like it spent it's whole life in a garage and at a 130,000 miles it has a lot life left in her, if you can find the parts. I know he wouldn't want it and you probably wouldn't want him to have it but that would be the best first car for Nick, safe, dependable and good on gas. Anyway always enjoy your walkarounds and your level of professionalism, thanks for your hard work. 😀✌❤
Randy you have to close the door to get it into gear because of the automatic seatbelts it's a safety thing my daughter had one a long time ago and it was only about 2 to 3 years old at the time and it was a very good car Charlie kretschmar Phoenix Arizona
IDI = Indirect Injection . The 6.9L & first Gen 7.3L International engines were IDI . Back in late 80's & into the 90's , The F- Superduty was the original F450 Ford .
Fun fact: all 77-79 Sevilles have a vinyl roof because they welded the squared-off back window extension onto the more angled Nova roofline. Peel back the vinyl or remove the interior trim and you'll see the welds that was easier to put a vinyl roof on than to do a bunch of finishing work on them.
That Toyota we'll hopefully see on your channel in the near future Randy. Kind of funny that the speedo shows up to 150 MPH. Your choices & tastes in cars is excellent to me.
0:17 Quick clarification. The Ford Super Duty didn't come out until 1999, so what you're looking at is probably an F350 or F450, not a Super Duty Correct me if I am wrong
The Ford wrecker is like you said may be worth more to someone else but like you said I would only go $1,300 or less because it needs work to get it to run!!!
Wuuuuaaaauuuui. Just watching you channel. Great finds...I love both cars...that Cadillac is beautiful but to much money, your right at the money...freaking beautiful..car..get it, man you will get someone very fast. Specially those guys from Houston, Texas. God bless love your videos, bronx, nyc. Have a nice day, any porsche 928s..i own one from 1984, but looking for one to mess with and install and LS with air conditioning to ride in florida.
Thanks for going back to the yard walk Randy, makes me feel I'm right there with you. That wrecker would take a lot of change to put back as a roadworthy wrecker, I'd avoid. The Camry is a great car, if you can find the parts, jump on it!!
That 1990 camry that u show I have one just like it my is 91 , the body parts might be hard but other things and motor u can get . But I'm telling u that those cars are great and I drive my to three states in one year with no problems and still Goin, when I got my it had 134,000 miles on it now it got 211,000
Running that truck would be worth in the teens here. But everything is expensive here. I really like the old Toyota. My concern is I have had mechanics tell me that there are no parts.
The F-super duty is basically a cab and chassis with a long wheel base/single cab used for box trucks, rollbacks, wreckers, steak beds, flat bed trucks, service trucks, etc. Don’t see many of them probably because they were all abused and sent to the scrapper lol
Or the olds 350,307 the diesel caddy is not that easy to find much easier to find a same style Buick Electra limited, or the Oldsmobile cutlass 4dr cars with the 5.7 litre diesel same thing with the Pontiac Bonneville. ..
6k for a 10k in parts 15ishk running truck Randy you could literally put new batteries in it some fuel start it show everything working and double your money and never leave the parking lot with it
Mmm the ford not sure if you should take a chance. Glad to hear somebody is interested in the TA. Hopefully save it. Wow that Toyota needs to be saved.
The Kenwood is from the early 80's i used to have the cd player version but Iost the remote and the power button wasn't on the stereo???? So yeah it was scrap
So the tow truck randy yeah for sure a no go for $4000 for that old truck man it has 300K on it too and yeah it's an international engine but it would be a good investment for a person trying to start a tow company on the side like another person said as well but I wouldn't no i don't blame you at all for not taking a risk either. now the Pontiac yeah that's a nice one but needs work for sure but it would definitely be a good for a project 😸 hope your having a good one randy love your videos as always 😅
That's Ford first take with a turbo should be ats really reliable engines but judging by clicking sound glow plug relay is shot without those it will need a snort of either to crank or prolonged cranking I agree with to much money for that much wear on that old truck
RANDY! NOOOO!!!! RUN FROM THE FORD!!!! The first ambulance I was assigned to at ETMC had that engine. Now, granted, it had 400,00 miles on the original engine when it was finally retired and I promise, we rode it hard it Kaufman County just outside of Dallas. (We made a lot of transports to DFW as well) But it was a DOG my friend! A Gen 1 Prius would blow the doors off of our ambulance hands down. And, god forbid there was a hill. If we were lucky enough to get the thing up to 80 at the beginning of a hill, we would struggle to maintain 60 by time we reached the top and trust me, we would roll coal the entire time!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂
That would be a perfect candidate to do a Knight Rider. Even has the correct wheels. That Camry would ve neat too. Nice shape overall. Could buy that Fleetwood and put the front on the El Camino. Lol
IDI stands for InDirect Injection. The injector pushes fuel into a little chamber where it ignites pushing into the cylinder. Most Diesel made before about 1990 were IDI style
That truck would be worth the investment to someone who’s starting a tow company, especially if you can get it for at the most 2k
I think that you could get it for around 850 to 1000$.
wont be tht cheap
Was thinking the same allowable pricepoint as well. Highest worth while investment on that truck $ 2k.
They still have to fix it another couple thousand probably more
Based on the emissions tag on the engine and its rated power of 190 bhp, this does actually seem to be one of the rare trucks with an IDI turbo 7.3, just before they moved to the early PowerStrokes. Those were rated 215-225 bhp, though still an International design (T444E)

Thank you Randy for the old camry. Love my Japanese cars 🚗
The International Harvester IDI (from Indirect Injection) engine is a four-stroke diesel V8 engine used in International Harvester school buses, trucks, Ford F-Series pickups, and Ford E-Series vans from the 1983 to 1994 model years.
Wrong, 1983 through 87 was the 6.9 Idi and 88 through 94.5 was 7.3 idi
Good morning Randy. The 1994 F Super Duty IDI is a good looking wrecker. The 1982 Pontiac Sunbird is a decent looking car even though it's got damage all over.

Like that dragging wagon good luck buddy
It’s a 1994 ford f-350 7.3 International IDI ( in direct injection ) diesel engine made by Navistar, the predecessor to the 7.3 powerstroke. Now you know what it is.

Love that Camry, Toyota’s of that era are bulletproof but not many sold new in my homecountry, so hard to get nowadays……
What makes this truck so rare is they only made the 7.3 idi turbo for 2 years. They made the idi non turbo much longer. They are really great engines!
Randy you have to close the door to get it into gear because of the automatic seatbelts it's a safety thing my daughter had one a long time ago and it was only about 2 to 3 years old at the time and it was a very good car Charlie kretschmar Phoenix Arizona
The Pontiac Trans Am is still worth buying.😊👍 It needs some work but in the end she will shine and sparkle like she did brand new.😊❤️
IDI is the best because with anything they'll run and it means it has no turbo and they're the best on diesel mileage without abuse
Some of the IDIs, this one included, have a turbo.
Good afternoon sir. Good to see you again.😊👍
Love the yard walk format again!!!! And that old lac square body is dooope!! I do like that camery too. Go kenwood! Lol
That camera is awesome, there are guys out here who collect those. Awesome find.
I don't know how rare or special I would consider it. Those old IDIs are quite solid and loyal though, I think peg has proven that multiple times.
IDI = Indirect Injection . The 6.9L & first Gen 7.3L International engines were IDI .
Back in late 80's & into the 90's , The F- Superduty was the original F450 Ford .
Good video bud keep up the good work
Trans am all the way, it will be cheap, and fun to get it running on the channel
Your a man after my own heart with the 80,s cars
Fun fact: all 77-79 Sevilles have a vinyl roof because they welded the squared-off back window extension onto the more angled Nova roofline. Peel back the vinyl or remove the interior trim and you'll see the welds that was easier to put a vinyl roof on than to do a bunch of finishing work on them.
Those old Camry V6's are one of my favourite cars. Very rare these days.
That Toyota we'll hopefully see on your channel in the near future Randy. Kind of funny that the speedo shows up to 150 MPH. Your choices & tastes in cars is excellent to me.
I really liked the toyota!! I never seen one that old before. I wish you could bring it to the channel!!
Idi stands for in direct injection. International made all of the diesel engines from 6.9 idi to the 6.4 powerstroke.
If that Toyota Camry with the V6 runs, drives and AC works she would be worth buying. The interior and dash is perfect.😊
0:17 Quick clarification.
The Ford Super Duty didn't come out until 1999, so what you're looking at is probably an F350 or F450, not a Super Duty
Correct me if I am wrong
The "F-SUPERDUTY" was basically the equivalent of an F450 in the late 80s-early 90s before the Super Duty we know now was a thing.
Indirect injection was the diesel before the powers stroke.
I take it you've never seen Zip Ties n Bias Plies then. Slave lake is an IDI and he absolutely abuses the heck out of that truck and it still runs. 2
Buy that Toyota. They run forever and are so reliable. Great daily driver!!!
I’ve watched your channel more than five years now 😅
The Ford wrecker is like you said may be worth more to someone else but like you said I would only go $1,300 or less because it needs work to get it to run!!!
I like that 3rd gen firebird with the rear louvers
That was a nice Cadillac Seville before she was crunched.👍
The Camry is a must have💯
Wuuuuaaaauuuui. Just watching you channel. Great finds...I love both cars...that Cadillac is beautiful but to much money, your right at the money...freaking beautiful..car..get it, man you will get someone very fast. Have a nice day, any porsche 928s..i own one from 1984, but looking for one to mess with and install and LS with air conditioning to ride in florida.
that truck would be good content for the right price!
I like the Camry 😀
Thanks for going back to the yard walk Randy, makes me feel I'm right there with you. That wrecker would take a lot of change to put back as a roadworthy wrecker, I'd avoid. The Camry is a great car, if you can find the parts, jump on it!!
Oh the old Toyota 😭💔 the memories
That 1990 camry that u show I have one just like it my is 91 , the body parts might be hard but other things and motor u can get . But I'm telling u that those cars are great and I drive my to three states in one year with no problems and still Goin, when I got my it had 134,000 miles on it now it got 211,000
Whoa cool Firebird 😀🤘🏽🔥 needs a lot of work though
That camry is sharp but I hate those automatic seat belts.
That el camino would be a nice quick rebuild for your channel auto auction rebuild!
Did you glow plug it wait 30 to 45 sec
The value in that truck is the toe bed you can buy a later model cab and Chassis and put that bed on it and have a nice truck
I would love to see if this Super Duty back to life, could be a nice workhorse for someone.
Hi Randy, how are you doing, you need to buy this Towtruck.
Make sure the PTO is not engaged
Be safe and careful.😊👍🙏
Love these 80’s and 90’s cars 😂
Running that truck would be worth in the teens here. But everything is expensive here. I really like the old Toyota. My concern is I have had mechanics tell me that there are no parts.
What about any trans-connect vans?
That 90 Camry would be awesome to work on!!!!!
Love that old Camry!
The F-super duty is basically a cab and chassis with a long wheel base/single cab used for box trucks, rollbacks, wreckers, steak beds, flat bed trucks, service trucks, etc. Don’t see many of them probably because they were all abused and sent to the scrapper lol
The white Cadillac is either the 5.0ht sbc 305, or the 4.9 litre digital fuel injection.
Or the olds 350,307 the diesel caddy is not that easy to find much easier to find a same style Buick Electra limited, or the Oldsmobile cutlass 4dr cars with the 5.7 litre diesel same thing with the Pontiac Bonneville. ..
6k for a 10k in parts 15ishk running truck Randy you could literally put new batteries in it some fuel start it show everything working and double your money and never leave the parking lot with it
Go for that old Camry... These are incredible good cars...
Anyone remember davidsfarm? He had a blue camry with the V6 and 5 speed. Thing was beat like a cabin screen door but it ripped
That truck would be a great investment
That Camry is not to bad especially that has a v6 motor 😊
Isn't that IDI motor the one they called the stink master? Had a particularly bad exhaust smell?
Somebody probably sabotage it...they disconnected cable and dropped tow bar posible a gem
Mmm the ford not sure if you should take a chance. Glad to hear somebody is interested in the TA. Hopefully save it. Wow that Toyota needs to be saved.
Can u show the Honda accord I think is a 1990 in white
The Kenwood is from the early 80's i used to have the cd player version but Iost the remote and the power button wasn't on the stereo???? So yeah it was scrap
Anyways I replaced it with a new pioneer keh-1700 auto reverse cassette tape player stereo from Walmart in mid August 98
Nice car picks today
So the tow truck randy yeah for sure a no go for $4000 for that old truck man it has 300K on it too and yeah it's an international engine but it would be a good investment for a person trying to start a tow company on the side like another person said as well but I wouldn't no i don't blame you at all for not taking a risk either. now the Pontiac yeah that's a nice one but needs work for sure but it would definitely be a good for a project 😸 hope your having a good one randy love your videos as always 😅
Dang a guy locally is selling this truck. He imported it and is now asking 14k. Good thing i saw this.
That old Camry is nice
That Toyota Camry 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️I can just smell that inside 😊😊
The Caddy Seville is basically a glammed up Chevy Nova!
nice 5 speed tow truck.
Beautiful Toyota & Cadillac...
What is the name of the app
That's Ford first take with a turbo should be ats really reliable engines but judging by clicking sound glow plug relay is shot without those it will need a snort of either to crank or prolonged cranking I agree with to much money for that much wear on that old truck
That Camry is so cool reminds me of my 1996 ES 300 I'm still holding on to 😂
$4500.00 for that heap? Dream. On.
RANDY! NOOOO!!!! RUN FROM THE FORD!!!! The first ambulance I was assigned to at ETMC had that engine. Now, granted, it had 400,00 miles on the original engine when it was finally retired and I promise, we rode it hard it Kaufman County just outside of Dallas. Caddy Seville built on a nova. Subframe and parts
Camino takes standard Malibu sheet metal get whole nose looks hooped up with carb manifild
that el camino is done,
the roof has a kink in it,
that means the frames goneskis
The tow truck price is all about the towing gear not the truck underneath
You got cars to build Forget the junk.
If that elcamino was in canada i would of buy it not hard to fix
Yes Im subscribed to your channel, my favorite the Mercedes 500 from 2014. You have, beautiful car. Always look that video.😂😂 to see that car.
You should buy the El Camino and fix it. THAT would be great content!
That would be a perfect candidate to do a Knight Rider. Even has the correct wheels. That Camry would ve neat too. Nice shape overall. Could buy that Fleetwood and put the front on the El Camino. Lol
Cadillac Cimerron was a cavalier with badges and not much else.
Is it a f 450 or 350if it 450 it has 513 gears so if does top speed around 55 to 60 so not fast
My brother in law drove a 88 v6 5spd Toyota Camry le and that thing would keep up with 87-98 ford v8 mustang and thinderbirds easy lol
Good morning Randy
IDI- Indirect Diesel Injection. This is a Powerstroke.
Pre power stroke , International diesel power ( non turbo ) , great work horses
