Such great tips! I can't agree more on the idea of arranging a track within the first hour of making it. I have an insane amount of 8-bar loops from years past and they are so hard to open back up and try to work on because the vibe is lost. Arranging before walking away makes it so much easier to bring that energy back! A lesson I learned far too late in the process.
Right? Even if it’s rough and not very good, having it laid out keeps you from having dozens of 8 bar loops laying around. Hope your gear up for your upcoming release is going well!
I’m curious - how often do you use mono or consumer grade speakers? I know for me it’s hard to do this but I always make big improvements when I do. Ugh... discipline is tough...
