England were great generally but everything good seemed to come through him. Please God we've finally got a truly world class midfield maestro, because he was class.
its amazing that a country used to produce kick and rush long ball players now full of technical youngsters. aftet barca sucxess everyone wana play like xavi, the english kids clearly changed their style
Was just going to say the same, the 70, 86 & 90 squads had some fantastically technical players. Moore, Charlton, Gazza, Waddle, Beardsley, Hoddle, Barnes. Any of these kids will do well to get close to those players. Having said that, the last 18 years have been pretty bleak.
Nasri was great, David Silva was excellent... Foden is looking like he's made of a combination of the best of both, with the bonus of De Bruyne's incredible passing vision, touch, and accuracy. He could surpass all 3 of them. Truly has the potential to be one of if not the best midfielder world football has ever seen.
The natural successor to David silva the lad is a baller England are finally producing ballers with winks now they need 8 more looks like a united player tho
"Now they need 8 more" This is exactly right. A great technical team have 11 players who are completely comfortable with the ball at their feet. We have more than ever coming through but we need lots of technical players, like a pool of 30 or so to choose from. Spain probably have a pool of 50+, that needs to be the goal going forward.
Foden has an air of Riquelme, the way he played throughout the whole 1997 Youth World Cup. There are similarities in how they dribble and carry themselves about on the field. I hope that Foden makes it far in his career!

That's the thing isn't it. It's sad but some of these kids will disappear. Difficult to know why but that can happen.
