I am a language coach, and an English/Arabic teacher. I am amazed at your motivation and consistency, and your system of learning languages is truly awesome! The system might work for almost everyone if they have enough motivation and desire to learn how to speak their target language. Also, it’s important to remember that it’s fine if your language level is not growing all the time. It grows only when you use the language, because your brain understands that this is important for you, and turns on its learning mechanisms. Without constant exposure and immersion it’s almost impossible to reach a conversational level in a language

This is the very first time I'm hearing about "Language Acquisition" but it makes so much sense. I never took English grammar seriously, but I think I've been fluent since the 6th grade despite not being brought up in an English speaking society, mainly due to watching cartoons and reading (course) books.
I started learning urdu around a month ago. I learned about 100 basic commonly used urdu words. I listened to ur audio but I feel if I didn't learn those words I would be stranded just listening to the audio. So I recommend. Write down 5 commonly used words a day and after each word, write a sentence with that word. And then record yourself saying that. Slow. Fast. Even break up the words if yiu want. But record yourself doing that and listen to that while looking at your notes. Just 30 minutes a day. Idk about other ppl but it worked for me

One thing I want to request insha'Allah is that you also add the 80/20 document where you compiled the common words, phrases, grammar structures. I'd personally find that'd be helpful too. And lastly, I appreciate that you edited that video really well, it was very engaging, especially considering you don't use any music in your videos, which is rare to see even from alot of Muslim content creators, so may Allah reward you for that.

Thank you for this! I loved your other video so much, as it was so heartwarming. It is wonderful to hear more about your learning process. thats so lovely to read, thank you ! i would love to learn bengali one day, with urdu - i like using it just at the basic level it is now - pushing myself at the butchers even though real life speaking is scary haha ! i think watching dramas too is on the list
Yeah it’s so crazy, speaking is litterly is a skill that needs to be taught along the language. For example I’m learning polish on my own. I’m very shy when it comes to speaking since the grammar is so complex I often doubt the most basic of sentences. (I know I’ll make mistakes, but it feels to a entire new level) anyways- I can understand so much compared to when I speak which is basically just talking about my hobbies, describing how I look, how I feel etc… in school, I learned French and although it’s a simpler language to learn compared to polish. Both what I understand and can say are at the same level. Imagine if i practiced speaking polish, could of definitely had some simple conversations.
use audio to immerse and lay foundations of phrases and vocab and grammar. speak to immerse, repeat write down words and phrases you don't know and got wrong. after a week make a new audio using those phrases. make a 80/20 word bank and listen to them being used in sentences. You could pay someone to use these phrases. voiceover did it in english then urdu SPEAKING IS KEY 2 weeks on audio then do it
I have someone I want to surprise them with speaking Urdu! I learned a few phrases over the past week and I would love to randomly surprise them in a few months!
So inspirational masha'Allah. Hope you get to learn Arabic at some point and pass on your tips to us😊. Your urdu video with your Mum was so heartwarming to watch ❤

you’re literally a lifesaver, this vid came to me at the RIGHT time. Thank you so much 😭
You’re amazing. Thanks, just the motivation and inspiration I needed
thank you so much for linking the audio files!!
Of course!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR APPROACH!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH !! :D
Thank you sister. This has been quite informative for me even as a fairly established polyglot. I'm gonna incorporate these methods in learning my 7th language Insha'aLlah.
inshaAllah, that's great!
You’re literally phenomenal
omg...linking this with my life growing up learning piano I always was good at pattern recognition, but SUCKED at theory, I can TOTALLY see this translating into language learning as well. You have motivated me again to start language learning!
that's so awesome, and yeah after learning languages I see this pattern literally everywhere- let me know when you start again and what you're learing!
You have no idea how much this helps me, I have always wanted to be conversational but could never accomplish it because i would always get disheartened and not know where to start!
Bohot umdaa! Mai aapke is video ko hindustan se dekh raha hun, kehna padhega ke aapne is video me jo nasihatein di hain waqai faaidemand hai. Maine bhi Farsi seekhte waqt yahi sochkar shuroo Kiya aur shukr alhamdulillah ke aaj meri Farsi kaafi acchi hai.
MashaAllah aapki urdu bohat acchi hai.

@@jkn.01 mai bhi "fasih urdu" baat nahi karta hun. Mai Chennai se hun , Ghar me dakhani urdu baat karta hun, Jo urdu se kaafi alag hai,

Phir bhi mai samajh gayi i think.
Farsi pakistan ya persia mai istamal hoti hai na? Chennai mai istamal koi kerta hai kya? Mujhe nahi pata tha vo urdu se milti jhoolti hai.
Also mai karnataka se hoon.
ur so concise thank you!

I've been learning Punjabi for over a year doing traditional lessons for my dad's family as they're all Punjabi (whereas my mum's family is scottish and we live in Scotland) and I feel like crap because I still struggle.
Whenever I go to Punjab everyone just speaks English because I'm a gora ;-;
Thank you so much for this video.
it's okay to struggle! I wish you best of luck on your punjabi learning journey, u got this!! I'm currently trying to learn Bengali ;-; it's super hard since there's not a lot on UA-cam to help hahah
I'm a half korean and half Pakistani, born in Korea ..i also learn Punjabi in 6 or 7 months now whenever I go to Punjab i can understand what they are saying but can't speak fluently... btw you are gora 🤧 and they say me Chine instead of korean..
I will use all the videos you have in description
Stay blessed my Sister
This is honestly quite embarrassing but you learning urdu made me want to become better at my own mother toungue 😅 I can definitely speak urdu but my written is horrible despite the fact that i have been writing it since I was in nursery! My brilliant Client from Fiver 🥰!
Shabash Jannah!keep growing and glowing💚🇵🇰
Great video! Each step was broken down perfectly, and I can't wait to implement it into my language learning. I tried looking for the vocab bank you mention on Tim's website, but couldn't find it. Would highly appreciate it if you could share it as well, as it will be great starting block for my language learning :)
ah awesome, so glad it was easy to understand ! I actually searched for it hard too and couldn't find it- i think it's on the wayback machine or something but just look up most used words and most used phrases and most used grammar rules
@@jannahhossain4321 Thanks for checking, appreciate it! I'll do what you said, and look for any vocab bank online. Also congrats on hitting 10K!!
Thank you Jhanna! Very good Video
impressed.
thanks!
Thank you for this! I loved your other video so much, as it was so heartwarming. It is wonderful to hear more about your learning process. Do you have any goals for improving Urdu at the moment and how do you interact with the language now (do you speak to your mom in Urdu relatively frequently, etc.)? I remember you mentioned that you are interested in learning Bengali too, which is awesome.
thats so lovely to read, thank you ! i would love to learn bengali one day, with urdu - i like using it just at the basic level it is now - pushing myself at the butchers even though real life speaking is scary haha ! i think watching dramas too is on the list
Fantastic!
@@jannahhossain4321 why didn’t you learn your own language?
@@ssldkfkfkkdk ????
Hi Hannah you've inspired me so much to do this as well. YOU ARE THE BEST! SUBSCRIBED!
You are brilliant
The video was really helpful and I loved seeing your results with your mom! Good luck on future endeavors in language learning 🎉
This was super insightful! Thanks a million!
awesome, anytime!
girl you are my role model now :>
use audio to immerse and lay foundations of phrases and vocab and grammar.
speak to immerse,
repeat
write down words and phrases you don't know and got wrong.
after a week make a new audio using those phrases.
make a 80/20 word bank and listen to them being used in sentences. You could pay someone to use these phrases.
voiceover did it in english then urdu
SPEAKING IS KEY
2 weeks on audio then do it
Masha'Allah.. Good one sis. よくできました~
As someone who has only managed to learn 2% of three other languages, thank you for this
Thank you very much
I have someone I want to surprise them with speaking Urdu! I learned a few phrases over the past week and I would love to randomly surprise them in a few months!
Well done this is great!!
So inspirational masha'Allah. Hope you get to learn Arabic at some point and pass on your tips to us😊. Your urdu video with your Mum was so heartwarming to watch ❤
amazing work!
Extremely beneficial vid!
that's great to hear ! :)
you're doing so well!
thanks bahar!
could you publish/show us the vocab list/sheet you created , I know u said to make it more specific to your personal word bank, however it would help as a demo to start creating my own , ty sm !
Amazing!!! could you link your 80/20 document please? I would like to use it and apply it to learn a language that isn't available on the story learning website
