Watching this while doing my own lab work ☺ The youtube algorithm really came through on this recommendation!
Amazing!! Hope it’s going well
We love an intelligent man. My favorite video yet!
Girl
Thank you so much 😊
☕️
Talkin like he yo husband 😂
Someone focusing on a task is one of my favourite triggers. ❤ You doing those lab things that I have no knowledge about makes it even better.
Could you do one video as no talking version but with the lab sounds and ambience?
Perfect I’m happy to hear that! 100% I can do that
This was incredibly relaxing and interesting!! As a college bio major/ Chem minor, it’s really fun to watch especially when I’m able to recognize certain terms, tools, processes, etc! It’s also fun to watch how because I can see that it’s something you’re incredibly proud and passionate about and that’s always wonderful to see. I hope all goes well with your experiment and maybe I’ll see a paper on your finding one day!! That would be awesome.
Wow thank you for such an amazing and kind comment!! Yes hopefully next year I’ll get some papers out!!
I love your lab videos so much! & you’re so good at explaining everything
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you think so 😄
Seeing this in my recommended after finally leaving the lab🥲 the sounds were so good!!
Ahhh I hope you don’t miss it too much, thank youu
It’s so good to see you! Thank you for showing us some of your experiments. I feel a little smarter after watching your lab videos. 😊💃🏻

Thank you! I’ll make more soon…
Yes! Thank you for combing both of my worlds! ASMR and Lab!!!!! Currently in my 3rd year of school for MLS!
Amazingg, hope it’s going well! Thanks for your comment 😊
Cool video I love learning while relaxing!
Thank you!! I’m glad 😄
fellow molecular biologist here, im watching while doing work in my own lab!! amazing video and very tingly
much love 💓
hey i’m thinking about going into molecular biology/biochemistry in college and i wonderin if it’s worth it/fulfilling and the career options etc. what are your thoughts as a biologist yourself😅
Incredible!! Hope your experiments are going smoothly
@dadencelk if you find it really interesting it’s definitely rewarding and really enjoyable to study. It lends itself very well to continuing in academia like I’ve done, or getting a job in the biotech, bioengineering, or pharma industries. However, I would say for jobs that aren’t directly related to biology, something like physics might be more ‘employable’ because of the maths and computing skills you develop
@@dadencelk sorry for such a late reply! i agree with bel, i find it to be a fulfilling field. I lean more towards academia and research then working for a big biotech firm or something. i spend most of my time working in the lab, doing experiments, and collecting data. i have also applied to be a lab tech for a local college and a few other biotech/molecular bio related positions, but ive found that research it the most fulfilling . i will also say that biotech and other bio based companies can be very stingy about employees, they tend to require years of experience and certifications. though, overall, it really does depend on the person and what you goals are in your field. do you want to be responsibility for research and developments at a manufacturing biotech company, publish papers about years of research to add to your field, or be a quality control technician at a factory? if you have any other questions feel free to ask :) i have absolutely loved my time working in a lab and i will always encourage others to try everything out.💓💓
My God this is absolutely fantastic! Makes me miss the days working in a lab 🥲
Thank you!! I’m glad it brings back good memories 😌
Working with B-ME without fume hood is a great sacrifice for this amazing video. As a fellow PhD student I salute you sir 🫡
It was worth it 100%, thank you so much 🫡
The lab ones are the best 👌
Thank you!
this is so cool 😭 , 2 of my favorite things: lab + asmr !!
- an undergrad
Im glad you like it!!
always love your lab videos theyre always very interesting
Thank you! 🙏
mr dr: how do u like ur RNA'd Lysis Buffer
Me: oh, on ice thank you so much for asking
Loool a dash of beta-mercaptoethanol wouldn’t go amiss either
@@belvedereasmr u truly read my mind
Man
So interesting and enjoyable! But as a micro student with acquired contamination OCD, I had to self soothe every time a gloved hand touched anything 🥲 lmao. Such cool work!!!
Thank you so much!! 😄 oh no I hope that wasn’t too stressful haha
Ughhh you’re so cool!! More videos like this!! I love the lab
You’re too sweet! I’m going to do as many as I can
@@belvedereasmr YAY!!!!
This is the shit my dude it was so interesting for me and asmr i like it you should do more of this
Thank you so much that’s great to hear, I’ll defo make more soon!
Yessss
I’ve never been so jealous of someone’s nose. It’s literally perfect. 😭🙏🏼
This video is also perfect.
Hahaha thank you, never had my nose complemented before 😆
Stay consistent ur channel will blow up mate
Thanks man
Good thing I stumbled to this recommended vid. The whole day, I was studying Clinical Chemistry now my brain hurts haha
Oh wow hahaha, I hope this was at least a bit relaxing
Lab video!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
❤️
Ayyy the main man is back
Let’s goo
❤❤
Def subbing
Absolutely did not think you were gunna British
You’re so good at making it simple that it’s like molecular biology for dummies 😂
Hahaha I’m glad you think so! 😆
More of thisssss
herbert west coded asmr vid, cool
It's Jon Snow
I also work in a lab it’s fun tbh
Awesome, I love it
Instant sub❤
Wow thank you! 🫶
Just finishing my bachelors of microbiology, and we do a lot of molecular biology as well. Your research seems really interesting with huge downstream applications for further research and in healthcare. My knowledge on stem cells is prety limited, so how do you know if the sample you received are stem cells? I would imagine that you get lots of mature epithelial cells and leukocytes as well. Does proliferation of these cells then grow stem cells that are considered "young" lung epithelial cells, basically before they differentiate? Sorry for the questions haha, just curious! Loved the vid :)
Awesome!! Great question, I can explain more in a future video but basically yeah you’re right, the samples I receive are a big mix of immune cells, fibroblasts, differentiated airway cells, airway stem cells etc.
The thing is the growth conditions select for the stem cells, so only the stem cells grow. The differentiated cells can’t really self-renew, especially not in culture. You can confirm it’s the stem cells that are growing by things like immunofluorescence staining for specific marker genes of the stem stem cells - in the airway it’s TP63 and KRT5. You can also differentiate the cells in culture which is pretty cool!
I hope that answers your question! And thanks for taking an interest 😊
@@belvedereasmrThanks so much for the info, it’s super interesting! Good luck in rest of your research :)
W lab return
Let’s gooooo
Love the video man! What did you do at uni and how far into research are you?
Thanks! I did biology and I’m 18 months into the PhD, so I’m half way through
my youtube algorithm is finally perfect.
🙏🫶
Nice video🙏🙏
Thank you 🙏
Hi ! would it be personal if I ask what kind of lab work you do? I've been really loving your lab videos! :DD
No not at all!! My project is based on ling regeneration and lung stem cell biology. I’m trying to work out the function of a protein that is key to the function of lung stem cells. I can answer your question in more detail when I do a Q&A!
@@belvedereasmr woah, that is amazing!! I’d love to watch a Q&A video soon!! God bless you man :DD
I have a question, what is your job title? This all looks really interesting and I think it might be something I want to do in the future.
So I’m actually a stem cell biology PhD student, but the lab techniques and stuff I do are common to many biology fields (mostly molecular/cellular biology)! You can also get a lab technician job and do a lot of the lab work without all the studying
@@belvedereasmrso you’re gonna be a doctor of some sort? That’s so fuckin cool
@@belvedereasmr thanks 😊
I always think trying to explain where human samples come from to non-lab people sounds so ghoulish 😅 "yeah we take blood from our colleagues as healthy controls, but it's totally normal and above board, I swear!"
Hahaha it’s true I think a lot of the stuff that goes on in labs sounds very sus 🤣
i need him
Just found this channel and am already invested just don't mix the container X otherwise you will get Powerpuff girls
🤣🤣
Please do a taste test video
What kind of taste test??
@@belvedereasmrdrink every liquid inside your lab
🤣
How do you grow the cells?
Great question!! I can explain properly in a future video, but I grow them on layers of inactivated mouse cells in the plastic dishes, with special growth medium containing loads of growth factors etc.
I’m buying a camera which will hopefully let me record stuff in the lab where I grow the cells too!
What do they say about medium sized hands 👀
Nah saw someone’s legs in the back
Who that random guy in the window at 2:50
I have no idea hahaha
SMART AND HANDSOME !! BUT WHY YOURE WEARING A CHEFFS COAT
Thank you! Hahaha
Where have you been 🥼
I’ve just been so busy!! But excited to be back
Can’t get over the person behind you
Hahaha
Whats your educational background?
I started the PhD straight after undergrad where I studied biology!
Hey what’s your job I’m just interested since you work in a lab
I’m a biology PhD student!!
we need to cook
Did you have to ask your employer before recording:0
I didn’t, I assumed it would be fine as long as I don’t disclose confidential stuff…
What’s that on top of you I see people
Yeah! The lab is like basement level so the windows go to the street, people walking by always come and have a look
Smash
whats ur profession lol
I’m a biology PhD student !
What do your do?😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Im a stem cell biology PhD student!!
B-ME does smell soooooo bad
The wooorst
What r u even doing in the lab I always fall asleep before u even start saying anything
🤣🤣 just a bit of messing around with various liquids really
this gives me ptsd
this is such a sick video!! never thought an asmr video would make me want to go back into research hahahahaha 🫶🏻 also i could smell that bme through my phone
Hahaha I’m glad 😂 the smell is haunting
