As the fiancée of a career fireman, I really appreciate yall doing this video but also adding a PSA to try to help them with their job is maybe the most important thing for viewers to understand. Only so much can be done if no precautions are taken. A HUGE PSA that should be added is to shut the door!!! It limits oxygen to the fire and can easily save your life! Of course there wouldn’t be enough time to do every part, but if yall were able to simulate more types of events that firefighters go to (car wrecks, medical calls, etc) or how they do their best to decontaminate gear, that would have also been awesome to add-but still an awesome video! Thank you to South Metro for taking the time to demonstrate and make sure the Try Guys were safe!
My husband is a career firefighter/paramedic, and one time he got called to a family attempting a literal exorcism to solve a medical emergency! I'd like to see the Try guys react to that call 😂
Eugene really has that amazing ability to be good at whatever he decides he wants to do. Love you so much, Eugene!! Will miss you but 2nd Try will surely be great too!!
Zach did so well on the fitness test. That wasn’t walking at the end, that was running! Great job, Zach! 😊 Also, I laughed so hard on the 1930s cartoon comment, that was so accurate. 😂
14:08 "How long are your legs?" Zach: "I got a flat little butt. It's barely there. When my wife sees me changing, she giggles. She laughs at my anatomy."
Several years ago the house across the street from me exploded. Literally. Their heating tank blew up. I woke up because I heard it blow. The firemen were incredible. I still don't understand why there are so many volunteer firemen. They all deserve to be paid, and the full-time folks should be making waayyyy more. Genuine heroes.
Most make a very small wage or a per call pay. It is usually minimum wage or less. A lot do get a small retirement after a decade or more of service. Most communities can't afford to pay for full time firefighters, so they have a volunteer department. My husband is a volunteer firefighter, that's why I know that. These guys do it for the betterment and safey of their communities
In Australia volunteer firefighting is 100% unpaid, it is completely on our own time, but we also don't have to go through as much physical testing to qualify for volunteering, all the money we are given goes into the station bank account and that is used for the brigade only, none of it goes to the members, even any donations from the public
On 9/11 a lot of fireman will go to high rises or even at the gym on the stair master and they’ll walk the amount of floors with all their gear in memorial
@@sxrxhkj6612I didn't know until a couple of years ago that that's what the alarms were in all the footage you see from 9/11. I thought the alarms were coming from the buildings 😥💔 not from fallen firefighters
This has to be one of my favorite Trys Edit: seeing them work so well together at the end and supporting each other was so great. I’ll really miss Eugene.
the fact that they did this in my hometown in colorado is so interesting. especially for people who live at sea level, coming to colorado can cause a lot of altitude sickness. the try guys truly had a challenge with that treadmill even if it was at sea level, let alone a mile high. the people at south metro are true heroes and should be thanked for all they do for the community especially their response to the marshall fires with a bunch of other stations in the area
Yes absolutely. I also used to live in a high altitude area and I remember once a rival college football team tried to accuse our team of "cheating" because when they played away games their lung capacity was so goated.
I was in Colorado for fire season. We had a 15 mile hike up to the fire line. Then we just dug breaks for 12+ hours, back. The first few days were absolutely hell.
My dad was a firefighter/paramedic when I was a young kid, and I loved going to visit him at the fire station where he'd let me and my siblings climb on the trucks and slide down the pole with us in his arms. It was also nice that he only had to work every third day (one 24-hour shift and then 2 days off). That said, it was a bit scary knowing that he was going into dangerous situations. The movie Backdraft came out during that time, so that was an extra vivid visualization of how my dad might have met his end.
When my now husband (he’s a firefighter) and I were dating he showed me Backdraft. I took a few days to think long and hard about continuing the relationship. That movie scared me, especially when he told me how real it was.
@christinamatzen4214 we talked about Backdraft in my fire classes, but it was mostly the instructor venting about how the only realistic thing is the backdrafts lol. He always had a problem with Hollywood portrayals of firefighters because they always had their mask/helmet off, for camera effect, but in reality doing so would be very dangerous
@@jerfsjourneys Of course Hollywood wouldn’t get the way the fire fighters acted right, can’t possibly have a Baldwin and cover his face! The fire parts were real, I certainly didn’t know it could behave like that. My background was in law enforcement and that’s infinitely less scary!
My great grandfather was a firefighter after WWII. He loved it and when he got Alzheimer's it was all he thought about. I remember there was an accident we had to stop for, when he saw the fire engine pull up he hopped out and started to direct traffic. The firemen were very understanding and kind, loved that they spoke with him. I love these videos.
As you would know, the long term memories are the most solid, so Id 💯 bet he wouldve done a great job at doing that even with alzheimers, arguably better since for him it it was learnt/practiced recently ❤
Yo honestly I feel like this video is your best ad for your streaming service. If this is the quality we get BECAUSE of better funding from the streaming service, I may have to buy in.

Paramedic here and I would have absolutely LOVED to see a spinoff of this where the guys go through some medical scenarios with airway management, IV/IO placement, wound management, and CPR. It could be super beneficial for viewers to learn basic CPR as well as the recognition and handling of some medical emergencies prior to professional help arriving, i.e., ODs (could cover Narcan administration as it's very simple and widely available now from most pharmacies), choking, and seizures. So many people aren't familiar with the full scope of what paramedics can do and honestly, I think Zach and Keith attempting IVs in a moving vehicle would be a hoot - Eugene would excel immediately, as usual LOL bring in Kwesi and Jonny ;)
i’m so glad they had a section on climate change’s impact on wildfires! as someone who grew up in arizona i’ve experienced the increase in fires over my 25 years of life.
Im so sorry but i read your comment RIGHT at the part where he was on the pole and slowly sliding down whispering"my hands are so sweaty already" and i CACKLED 😭 the timing was very unfortunate
This type of Try Guys ep I miss because I miss them actually trying different types of occupations or hobbies from an educational standpoint that people may not be aware of what goes into it. I would love to watch more videos like this ❤
The fact that Zach has his health issues and continues to do such strenuous videos like this, knowing he will probably pay for it later in pain and fatigue, is just insane. That had to be so tough on him. Amazing for him to get through it all and finish!
Now THIS was classic, grown up Try Guys. Thank you so much. You modeled everything that this channel was conceived around. Keep it up. Bravo. You are great teachers.
25:16 my home was one of the ones lost in the Marshall fire, the work that all of the firefighters put in on the day of was absolutely insane! Huge props to them, if any of them are reading this, thank you so much for your service!
I can't imagine the coordination required to get the entire team and all the gear out to a location like this. Kudos to Rachel and all the other producers for getting this done. Epic video!
not trying to be that person but, SMFR has a warehouse full of spare/reserver gear they could used and I think they do this kind of stuff all the time with people
I went on a date with a firefighter once and I have the utmost respect for them. He didn't tell much but that he was traumatized by it and therefore had to stop doing it after having to carry a child out of a burning building. He's only in his early twenties. I don't know how anyone can do this job but I'm grateful that there are some heros out there strong enough to.
This always gives me a new appreciation for my uncles who are all career firefighters and emts. The things that they have had to see over the years and situations people don’t realize just how much firefighters do… thank you for bringing awareness to firefighting! It takes special people to run into a fire for other people
Our church is full of firemen and retired firemen (I'm talking more than a dozen current or retired firefighters). Almost all of them have had, currently have, or are directly related to another fire fighter who has the unique type of kidney cancer specifically related to their career. The depth of their dedication to protect and serve astounds me.
Firefighters are made of something different. They don't crack easily and when they do it's because they've had a long day and they're scrambling to get to private so they can finally take a breath.
I was almost tearing up hearing the way they communicated with each other once they entered the final trial together and just how solid their teamwork was ;___;
This made me a little emotional! Probably because I live in Colorado and we've had four decent wildfires very recently. One of those is still burning, but thankfully around 94% containment, if not more. These brave people are amazing!
I love it when the Try Guys open our eyes through new experiences and give us the chance of changing our perspectives over things, being a firefighter is way more complicated and risky than we all thought
I remember watching Michelle do this and being just so in awe of everything that not only her, but what actual firefighters have to go through every day and it makes me so appreciative. Seeing this video gives me the same feelings, so thankyou for show-casing what these heroes have to go through in their daily lives while also adding the comedy ew all love so much
This is one of the most insane videos they've ever done. I am flat out terrified of house fires, it's one of my biggest fears, and watching the way that burn building just erupted in flames was the most horrific and awesome thing I've ever seen. I'm super proud of the boys for all the hard work they put into this, especially Zach; I have chronic pain as well and watching him go through this, I just know he was out of comission for a week after this. They all worked so well together and I'm super glad Eugene was able to do this before he leaves !
Rachel: Keith no?! (In reference to sliding down the pole) Keith: (VERY indignantly) psh no! I felt that. Thank you Keith for repp’ing the scaredy cats out here.
My grandfather just turned 70, and he is still a volunteer firefighter with our community fire department. I knew he was a badass (played college football, was a professional bull rider, and single-handedly keeps our family farm going), but this just made me realize how much more of a badass he really is. Thank y’all for doing this!!!
I felt anxious just watching this... What an insightful video into the work and training of firefighters. Absolutely incredible people who do this. The constant concentration, focus and speed at which this work must be done. I have huge respect for firefighters; they seem to always be good and fun people, meanwhile they work day and night to save peoples lives.
As someone who’s had two house fires and been in the first one, this was a really emotional video for me! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the work that firefighters do. And clearly it’s really hard on them as well to live in service of others. I appreciate the try guys for showing how much work and selflessness goes into fire fighting!!
as a volunteer firefighter I absolutely LOVED this video. when I found out this was coming out, I was so excited to watch it. the guys absolutely cover all the emotions of training. I couldn't help at giggle at the question of what it would feel like to hit someone in the chest with the water of the hose cause this happened to me during my first controlled burn. I opened the door for the nozzle guy, and he opened the nozzle full blast into my chest from like 3 feet away. to answer their question, it ABSOLUTELY hurts I got knocked back and definitely felt it for the next few days. luckily my instructor quickly helped me get my head back on straight and we finished the drill no more issues. thank you try guys for everything you do!
I think 38:05 is them all crawling over the baby. I believe the (unintelligible) was Zach calling it a “lip.” Eugene’s “we’ve got an obstruction” is so funny in hindsight.
South Metro is top notch. Eric Hurst is the reason I’ve gotten into public relations for my full time job and I’ve been taking PIO classes. This video was outstanding, from a firefighter, you guys did amazing!
My father was captain of the firefighter department of our city around 30 years ago. Thank you so much to all firefighters around the world for your hard work.
I lived near by in the marshal fires in Colorado. The amount of lives and families affected by it was crazy. My boyfriends family had to evacuate and a coworker of mine (at the time) lost her entire house and multiple irreplaceable items from centuries in her family. Fires are no joke and fire fighters are one of the most amazing people for helping fight them and put their lives in risk. Thank you to all 911 staff for risking your lives to protect people you don't know ❤️
awesome vid lmao, tbh the funniest part to me was how scared zach was of the fire pole. in elementary school, the big toy on the playground had one of those slidey poles so i just kinda assumed every elementary school had them and we all learned the fireman pole slide on our own time? 🤣
Its easy to just assume it will never happen to you. As a pet owner its so scary. I know I could lift my dogs, but I have an axolotl too, I have a tupperware of water that i change every week, under his tank, just in case theres a fire and and I have to grab him and get out! He matters just as much to me to save.
My grandfather was a firefighter for about 60 years. After he retired, he and my grandma would cook the firefighters dinner during their monthly meetings. My grandfather passed away last year and the fire station named a fire truck after him. He was beloved by the whole community ❤️
Anyone else notice around 42:41 that Zack is like superimposed into the video? Like was he not in this interview and they make it look like he was? Weird...
What frightens me most about a house fire is my cats. I know they'd run and hide. I genuinely don't think I could leave without them. I'd have to stay and get them out, and the thought that a fireman might pull me out without them is unthinkable
Obviously every cat is different so it might not work for yours, but I’ve seen someone train their cat with treats to run to the front door whenever they hear the smoke alarm. Might be worth a try!
please remember all the prisoners in California that are forced to fight fires without the same training or safety regulations that trained fire fighters get
@@MurronWright Honestly just plug a few words in any search engine and you should get some hits from different people writing about it. Go look at all of them to get some different words on the matter. Not saying that as a "look it up yourself" but I think it would be best to see a few different writers who likely got different people to interview about this. Nah but like honestly Zach was MVP for being communicative and saving the dummy.
coach sheck blushing at the tom hardy compliment was so cute🤩
And the Bane impression! Guy was having fun with them...
He’s a doppelgänger 🥵
Rachel: You are going into a burning building at the end of today
Eugene: Who's Burning Building
“It’s so think and har-“ 😞 “ITS SO FULL”
The silence during that sentence
and the immediate facepalm after lmao
I love the use of "TURGID" in this moment.
i couldnt breathe when i heard him say it, i laughed so hard-
The way the flannel tied around Eugene’s waist billows gracefully as he descends the pole at 3:48 is so perfect. He floated down elegantly AF!
I came here to say the same thing 😂
Zach's descent down the pole will be the best short ever; starting with Eugene's "You're stickier than you think!" And ending with Keith's NOPE. 😂
I lost it at Keith asking when Keith was coming down
Eugene really has that amazing ability to be good at whatever he decides he wants to do. Love you so much, Eugene!! Will miss you but 2nd Try will surely be great too!!
Zach did so well on the fitness test. That wasn’t walking at the end, that was running! Great job, Zach! 😊
Also, I laughed so hard on the 1930s cartoon comment, that was so accurate. 😂
14:08
"How long are your legs?"
Zach: "I got a flat little butt. It's barely there. When my wife sees me changing, she giggles. She laughs at my anatomy."
she knew exactly what size he was w that😭
Several years ago the house across the street from me exploded. Literally. Their heating tank blew up. I woke up because I heard it blow.
The firemen were incredible. I still don't understand why there are so many volunteer firemen. They all deserve to be paid, and the full-time folks should be making waayyyy more. Genuine heroes.
Volunteer firefighters are often paid on a call-out basis. That’s how it works in the communities around me anyway.
@@icantbeliveitisnot such a noble profession. Absolute respect to them!
The fact that firefighters carried all that gear up hundreds on floors on 9/11 is insane.
Holy crap i dont think i could walk up 100 floors even without that gear
On 9/11 a lot of fireman will go to high rises or even at the gym on the stair master and they’ll walk the amount of floors with all their gear in memorial
the beeping noise was so harrowing. still the same noise from the 9/11 attacks
@@sxrxhkj6612I didn't know until a couple of years ago that that's what the alarms were in all the footage you see from 9/11. I thought the alarms were coming from the buildings 😥💔 not from fallen firefighters
We walk every year for our fallen brothers and sisters. Never forget!!
This has to be one of my favorite Trys
Edit: seeing them work so well together at the end and supporting each other was so great. I’ll really miss Eugene.
Eugene defending his gay joke by explaining to all the firefighters standing around who don’t know him is hilarious 😂💀
the fact that they did this in my hometown in colorado is so interesting. especially for people who live at sea level, coming to colorado can cause a lot of altitude sickness. the try guys truly had a challenge with that treadmill even if it was at sea level, let alone a mile high. the people at south metro are true heroes and should be thanked for all they do for the community especially their response to the marshall fires with a bunch of other stations in the area
He is a hero❤
@@jerfsjourneys Of course Hollywood wouldn’t get the way the fire fighters acted right, can’t possibly have a Baldwin and cover his face! The fire parts were real, I certainly didn’t know it could behave like that. My background was in law enforcement and that’s infinitely less scary!
@@ChristinaVVM thank you. You don't hear it enough as the family of a firefighter, but thank you for your sacrifices as well.
Why did Rachel's desperate "I love you!" make me tear up?
Eugene looked so happy and proud of himself this whole video 😭😭 it was so wholesome to see how much joy he was having
🥹
As you would know, the long term memories are the most solid, so Id 💯 bet he wouldve done a great job at doing that even with alzheimers, arguably better since for him it it was learnt/practiced recently ❤
Yo honestly I feel like this video is your best ad for your streaming service. If this is the quality we get BECAUSE of better funding from the streaming service, I may have to buy in.
Gawd , yes!
I got it for the year and i only pay for one other media subscription and i use both pretty equally. The new content is hilarious and its nice to have playlists of all the old stuff too.
literally thought this while watching the video
Why does Keith actually look like a firefighter?
It's the stache 😅
@@bee1189without a doubt
Totally!
Im so sorry but i read your comment RIGHT at the part where he was on the pole and slowly sliding down whispering"my hands are so sweaty already" and i CACKLED 😭 the timing was very unfortunate
@@bee1189 oh for sure!🤣
Shoutout to whoever does the closed captions in full sentences with proper grammar & punctuation, youre an angel
I agree!! 😅
I fuckin love that Keith just walked down instead of going down the pole, the king of boundaries hahah
Firefighters are heroes. Thanks For giving homage to them
This type of Try Guys ep I miss because I miss them actually trying different types of occupations or hobbies from an educational standpoint that people may not be aware of what goes into it.
My grandparents founded the fire department in their small town. Big fans of these guys. They genuinely do it just to help people.
25:16 my home was one of the ones lost in the Marshall fire, the work that all of the firefighters put in on the day of was absolutely insane! Huge props to them, if any of them are reading this, thank you so much for your service!
Oh Oh Strong ❤
Glad you got out alright
I can't imagine the coordination required to get the entire team and all the gear out to a location like this. Kudos to Rachel and all the other producers for getting this done. Epic video!
not trying to be that person but, SMFR has a warehouse full of spare/reserver gear they could used and I think they do this kind of stuff all the time with people
@@bloodraven9316 umm, I meant the film gear? 😅
@@mellalune that would proably be easy since they aren't huge ass $500,00 tv cameras
It seems like being right on the Internet is really important to you. Good luck with that.
@@mellalune Who shit in your Cheerios? No way you got mad over a comment!!
So sad this is the last season of classic try but DAMN is it a banger of a season!!! My cousin is a wildlife firefighter!
Love that the trainer was so down to do the Bain impersonation. That was class.
This always gives me a new appreciation for my uncles who are all career firefighters and emts. The things that they have had to see over the years and situations people don’t realize just how much firefighters do… thank you for bringing awareness to firefighting! It takes special people to run into a fire for other people
Kind of emotional how it's their last video together 🥺🥺
Our church is full of firemen and retired firemen (I'm talking more than a dozen current or retired firefighters). Almost all of them have had, currently have, or are directly related to another fire fighter who has the unique type of kidney cancer specifically related to their career. The depth of their dedication to protect and serve astounds me.
12:54 The way Eugene actually looks so concern for Keith here. They're just besties, your Honor😭✨️
I kind of forgot how much I love Eugene. this hose is TUR - GID
I had to scroll way too far to find this comment! TURGID! thought Zach said it though!
"No you don't. Kewsi will do it." 😂🤣😭💀
The captions kept saying "Crazy" instead of Kwesi😆
It’s fire fighters and social workers who are the public servants I adore and get emotional about
As a social worker, thank you ❤
this video has taught me firefighters are just the chillest people (no pun intended)
There's a reason nobody ever wrote a song called "F#%k the Firefighters"
Firefighters are made of something different. They don't crack easily and when they do it's because they've had a long day and they're scrambling to get to private so they can finally take a breath.
I was almost tearing up hearing the way they communicated with each other once they entered the final trial together and just how solid their teamwork was ;___;
This made me a little emotional!
(In reference to sliding down the pole)
Keith: (VERY indignantly) psh no!
The mutual “It’s a MUSICAL?” between Eugene and Keith at 27:58 is everything
This is my absolute favorite episode ever! I wish Eugene wasn’t leaving 😢 These three together actually trying was so much fun!
as a volunteer firefighter I absolutely LOVED this video. when I found out this was coming out, I was so excited to watch it. the guys absolutely cover all the emotions of training.
"When the fire nation attacks--- its serious"
This is the try guys I remember! Trying new things, bringing awareness, and bringing the laughs. A trifecta!
This could potentially influence younger audience members to pursue a career as a firefighter! Great to see.
My father was captain of the firefighter department of our city around 30 years ago. Thank you so much to all firefighters around the world for your hard work.
As an EMT this is definitely my favorite Try Guys video ever ! It's so nice to see first responders being recognized
Yo, that's one of my dream jobs! Amazing what you guys do. What are your top 2 favorite things about being an EMT? 💕
@@ruthielalastor2209 you gonna go for EMT? Its pretty awesome man
I lived near by in the marshal fires in Colorado. Thank you to all 911 staff for risking your lives to protect people you don't know ❤️
I saw this video on the sidebar as I was watching Michelle Khare go to fire academy. The timing could not be any more perfect
Omg I love her ❤ I thought of her while I was watching this 😂
Just love seeing that they are still as close as ever.
Rachel : I love u!
Eugene : Bye Mom :)
“Keith’s not a fan of heights”
Keith is the heights
“You’re going to go into a burning house” Eugene says, “Who’s house?” Eugene has discernment and I respect that 😊
I really hope Eugene comes back one day to make the traditional try guy video. I love this format so much. Their chemistry is unmatched.
awesome vid lmao, tbh the funniest part to me was how scared zach was of the fire pole. in elementary school, the big toy on the playground had one of those slidey poles so i just kinda assumed every elementary school had them and we all learned the fireman pole slide on our own time? 🤣
Omg yes! I thought it was like riding a bicycle. You just remember how easy and fun it was in elementary school!
I am myself was thinking the same thing. I thought everybody knew how to use a fire pole.
At schooool? That sounds so awesome. I played on a kid fire pole in a jungle gym and all I could think about was how I wish I had one on our house. 😆
The communication between all three was so good, but Zack was great! You can tell they've been working together for years.
30:19 that was so wholesome
Its easy to just assume it will never happen to you. As a pet owner its so scary. I know I could lift my dogs, but I have an axolotl too, I have a tupperware of water that i change every week, under his tank, just in case theres a fire and and I have to grab him and get out! He matters just as much to me to save.
My grandfather was a firefighter for about 60 years. After he retired, he and my grandma would cook the firefighters dinner during their monthly meetings. My grandfather passed away last year and the fire station named a fire truck after him. He was beloved by the whole community ❤️
I have a huge respect for every fire fighter and you three because I would have cried instantly/ have a panic attack doing most of this stuff.
Right, like I can imagine going through the maze....UNTIL they said blindfolded. FUCK NO
Anyone else notice around 42:41 that Zack is like superimposed into the video? Like was he not in this interview and they make it look like he was? Weird...
That's freaky...
yeah wonder why they edited him on top of himself? maybe so he would react at the same time keith did?
But in the rest of this group scene (it was cut in three sections, this was the third one) he wasn't edited in. Weird.
So much fire”man” talk. As a women and a firefighter I super appreciate when folks remember to be inclusive and say firefighter.
be the boss, call yourself a fireman. objectify the male. yolo.
or we could say “man” is for
hu”man”. whichever one really
@@cc24681 horrible opinion
What frightens me most about a house fire is my cats. I know they'd run and hide. I genuinely don't think I could leave without them. I'd have to stay and get them out, and the thought that a fireman might pull me out without them is unthinkable
They'll pull you out but if possible they'll look for the cats too
Obviously every cat is different so it might not work for yours, but I’ve seen someone train their cat with treats to run to the front door whenever they hear the smoke alarm. Might be worth a try!
Rachel yelling I love you was the cutest thing 🥰
please remember all the prisoners in California that are forced to fight fires without the same training or safety regulations that trained fire fighters get
Where can I read about this? This sounds horrific.
@@MurronWright Honestly just plug a few words in any search engine and you should get some hits from different people writing about it. Go look at all of them to get some different words on the matter. Not saying that as a "look it up yourself" but I think it would be best to see a few different writers who likely got different people to interview about this. It's honestly very horrible and you should see different reasons why this is not in our best interests as humanity to do this.
The team work in these guys makes my heart melt, really proud of how well you guys can always stay together and work as a real team it’s inspiring and incredible, this video is everything thank you for shining light on one of the most challenging and un talked about jobs!
Former Fire Lookout here (lived in a tower on a mountain!) nothing but respect for Firefights (both city and Wild-land.) Great to see the Try crew tackle some of their training and get a taste of it all.
Not Eugene killin it again😃 except for crawling over the baby. But tbf, they all did so he gets a pass
My ex husband is a FF/EMT and it was so much work, but incredibly rewarding. I remember helping him through academy and hanging out at the station 💪🏻 the training camps were fun too, there was Mackinaw Bridge one we went too that was hella scary but he had the best time 💪🏻 love our FF, EMT, and Paramedics ❤
Good job you guys! Zach really stood out for me with his great communication throughout the simulation.
