Heavy engineering, made to look easy. How these guys cut with thermal lances and then welded without machining the cut edges, managing to cut to accurate size and weld to make very heavy gear boxes. Phew ! Great to watch. Thank you! 😊❤😊
This was better than watching one of the new movies out today, no bs just action, these guys are amazing, I wonder if they could build me a BBQ grill that will last, mine keeps burning out the fire box from constant use.
These men are very skilled workers ! Ifeel bad for them. Somebody is making a fortune off their backs . Think about it for a moment. This is a sweat shop, and nothing else. It's dismal there, and don't kid yourself for a minute they hurt their workers all the time . I worked in a fab shop down in the gulf , in the great state of Louisiana . It was dangerous there. I witnessed several injuries . Hell, we were dressed to work had boots gloves helmets welding hoods and attire. These guys have sandals and robes on and are being used and abused, going home every day carrying nothing but their fuzzy assholes out the door. Wore out put away wet .I realize it's Pakistan and not America . Workers should wake up and download a little bit of self-worth and some dignity. And , you people who run work should consider a little bit of empathy and take care of those hands that sometimes actually bleed for you !
Welders are paid not more than $100 or $125 a month without any medical or any allowances. Foremans are paid a little better. No safety equipment, no proper gear or shoes, every day is considered the last day of their lives. But we have decided long ago not to raise voice for rights and no one has ever thought about wrkrs rights on government level also.
We should not diss these guys and their fabrication methods. They are doing the best they can with what their industry has to work with. They are old world craftsmen and proud of their skill. With time things will improve for them but for now they are doing excellent work and taking care of their families.
This blows me away. These guys get work done fer sure. All that steel and no bevels I don’t understand. But what took the cake was the paint job over oil and such must be special paint
Kalian itu sungguh orang-orang yang hebat... walaupun masih menggunakan alat-alat yang sudah tidak modern lagi seperti di negara Eropa n amerka....good job my bro...🤞🤞
Ya, that's right WHO NEEDS 10 FINGERS OR 10 TOES OR TWO EYES, mmmm maybe still be able to hear that bus just before it splatters your brains on the road !!! Ya, I like their way of working. Smh....
Welcome To India the land of NO ground clamp hardly ever they have the bare wire of the ground just touching what ever they’re welding on or something conductive touching whatever they’re welding on 😊
With the cost of so many health and safety regulations heaped upon them I can't see how they can make a profit.! I need to get myself some of those safety shoes and one of those top notch welding masks.
How people worked in England or in the US 150 years ago? I think it's the same. Only then there were not as many socialists and "greens" as today, who can only complain.
I guess steel is so cheap over there, that they would rather throw 3" thick blocks everywhere rather than do some weld prep and achieve some actual weld penetration.
Two 5+cm metal plates welded together without any edge chamfering and no gap only with single path of electrode is joke. This transmission weight 10 tons and can be made with only 20% of material with proper drawings, little bit of calculations and optimalization from 2cm steel plates and proper bearing housings. Iam still surprised by fact they are able to move this heavy anchor from their workshop.
I Have The Same Issues With This!!! Although I Like Things Built Extra Thick, The Lack Of Any Bevels At The Welds Is Quite Alarming!!! There's Literally No Weld Penetration!!! I Guess It Stays Together By Sheer Weight Alone!!!
Classic engineer response. You can make it 20 percent lighter according to what? You don't even have the print. Is this a fair thing to say when you don't know the environment the transmission will be operating in, or the material used for the part?
Cargo cult. They copied the design of a gearbox and made a "nonfunctional" knockoff. What's the purpose of 4" thick reinforcing plates if the working part is a weld joint with 1/4" penetration at best?
One of the best comments here with no mention of the sandals. No bevels equals surface welding. What's the point of the thick plates then? And I agree. With a few hours of work on the drawing board, they could cut the weight down by 80%! 😂
Incredible, how they achieve such accuracy with just a tape measure is more than impressive. These guys are very skilled and hard workers, yet I'll bet they get paid very little.
2:49 Guy walks underneath heavy material being hoisted 6:39 cutting with torch over unmolested material directly underneath. 9:30 guy nearly gets hit in the face by material on hoist. 😮 this is a deathtrap. No matter how skilled you are, you are hopeless if you are maimed or killed
Making fun of it is easy. This is a poor country with a tremendous work force. Hard working intelligent yet they have to feed their families. Flip flops as the temps are over a 100F mist of the year. They make from the hottest jet fighter in the world today to anything you can imagine. So please be kind in your condescending comments. This is Pakistan
The manufacturing processes are outdated ...But the end product is a solid piece of engineering, Cannot fault the gearbox it looks extremely heavy duty
If you're given a set of blueprints and asked to tender for making it you do exactly that. Your job isn't to redesign the object and probably you don't know what its job is.
Would you guys really wanted this type of engineering works? The finished product so much of variations(tolerances). This gearbox is for a simple task(low velocity).
the real masters of their craft do everything by hand

How do you think Titanic was built! You're not seeing every single operation or the video would be 25 days long at least! 😂
Good for a laugh!
I’m so impressed with these guys and this fabrication and machine shop. They can build any kind of mechanical machine .
Just throw a handful of dirt in, break-in will be a breeze.
¡IMPRESIONANTE! 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
You joke?

Still enjoy watching them get it done!

I was wondering what the Pay scales were.
Creo yo,

Work used to bedone like that here till peoiple got modern and thought they were too good to do it that way any more. WONDERFUL job!
Exactly! There’s something inspiring about the old-school ways of doing things-pure skill and hands-on effort. Wonderful job indeed

Quite the customized piece.
It still amazes me that they do all this wearing pajamas and slippers
That's a Muslim dress
Steel toed bathroom slippers?
Bet it took longer to make it than to break it .
Hey welders? How do their welds look? This is such a cool video though. Love to see it

Welcome to UEA...just sit, shut up and eat your free bread...it grows on trees.
Not India Sir this Lahore Pakistan
I see they've mastered the art of layering weld on top of weld......I say 4 months before the first crack shows
it's unbelievable how many functions one welder has 😂
Fantastic piece of heavy engineering and teamwork.
A pleasure to watch.
I wonder what that gearbox would be used for?
No preheat --grinding after bearings still exposed. Unbelievable and saddles. 🤔 god help us

I'm guessing that the amazing skill is the total absence of weld prep....
There may be an opening at their shop for you! You'll have to supply your own sandals though.
@cameronlilly4814 😂
I guess steel is so cheap over there, that they would rather throw 3" thick blocks everywhere rather than do some weld prep and achieve some actual weld penetration.
This should be cast. The cost to weld this properly would be astronomical.
Very informative, I'm a subscriber, always good information, thank you

I guess that they apply the rule “ in case of d0ubt build it stout”. But yes, I wonder how log will those weldings stand.

Shouldn’t you finish your welding first and then machine the surface so warping doesn’t occur for a precision fit.
